This isn’t the first time he did that. I think he thought that in another Mariah instance.
It is also those people standing in the back in the dark. Some of them capable of emulating her voice quite closely. They worked with her for a very long time. Like in the one perfomance where she continues to sing to the rythm but changing the lyrics to "quit singing my part now, baby." And people accused her of lip syncing, not realizing that to add layering the person who can sound like her on whatever the note sings at the same time.

I think you'll enjoy a video here in TH-cam named Mariah Carey The Empress of Whistle register, is a compilation of the ways she has used her whistle throughout her entire career and this includes unreleased songs, shows how she can change the texture, tone, musicality and reason why she places her whistles strategically, and she works it as to make it sound like a music instrument like an Electric guitar, a Piccolo, a flute etc. I'd love your opinion on that video and perhaps you as a professional can offer a better insight and I'd think you'd appreciate that very much. Mariah is very proud of her own backing vocals. She sometimes records lyrics in 3 different notes to layer them and her ad libs in the background are always pin point, just proves her musicianship is amazing

Damn all those mariah live stream get copyrighted😣 can i suggest you react to mariah through the rain live at oprah 2002, you can react at other live performances but i think the oprah one is really exceptional. Really goood. Thank you for reacting with Mariah song which vocal coaches dont really put attention like the i stay in love and joy ride. And one of her best register change is in i wish you knew, she belt then change to headvoice then to 7th octave whistle in one sentence. She did sing this live but very short because she focused on more popular songs in concert.

@@LesageSinging and to add to that, in i wish you knew, she did an extremely fast trill (or vibrato, i dont really know cause it so fast) during the whistle transition that you have to slow down or listen carefully to actually hear it. Mindblown.

Could I recommend that you at the beginning of the videos do an entire “listen-through” with small commentary, and only after that break it down in parts like you do? Not only would it help everyone more (because they will understand the musical choices as cohesive to the piece when you later critique them) but it will also be more enjoyable to see you react to the whole composition from an emotional standpoint.

During Mariah’s earlier performances, I noticed that she would tilt her head back pretty often. Any idea why? I heard it has something to do with the larynx.
It facilitates belting. There are disagreements on how exactly belting works, but most agree that a slight tilt backwards helps. The two popular explanations for belting both explain the benefit differently, but still agree it's beneficial.

She had a cold here. Tommy (her husband/manager) forced her to sing many times while she was sick and vocally abused her. She released an album every year from 1990-2003 non stop.
Lol she released all those album’s because she wrote all those songs! She also left him in 1997 so your comment doesn’t even make sense. He controlled her personal life, but he certainly didn’t abuse her voice or he would have forced her to tour for her first three albums.

I used to love watching his reactions the first time but he explains a loooooot and it gets annoying whenever he pauses the video on each syllable the singer sings. 🤦😪 Over analyzing makes the masterpiece kinda boring... Just a thought. 🙄
Okay? Just go watch the masterpiece on its own then.. he always states that it's a reaction and analysis, so you can expect him to give very detailed information on every "syllable".
