Someone with common sense knows that a child is expensive. You demanding chores to be done, getting cash and the other bullshit was unreasonable. And like he mentioned people having wedding which you're hoping to get cash as a gift. If you're doing something beyond what you can afford, then you really need to rethink what you're doing. My dream wedding is Vegas and the sheap buffet they have. Don't care about impressing anyone because when reality hits, my bills gotta get paid. Also what financial plans did you have during the pregnancy or were you just hoping people would shell out cash because you were doing something women have been doing since the dawn of time?

The extra work IS the gift.

      Most of the time you'd have to just about tell family and friends to fudge off because they're trying to do TOO much. This level of expectation is ridiculous by pretty much any standard. If you view your child as a poker chip, that child should be taken away. Full stop. You don't have the child's interests at heart if this is your attitude. I don't have any way atm to get anywhere really, and when my cousin had a child he brought her to my house to make sure I got to see her. That's the way it's meant to be.

When she got confronted about that, she immediately assumed that her condition was the cause for all the backlash and tried to sue my former boss for discrimination. She lost and got fired and even made a youtube video about her story. People blindly sided with her until my former boss pressed charges for defamation and had to remove the video.

  • @ApacheGamer
    @ApacheGamer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    So this is a long on so bare with me as I have a say on all three stories, some based on actual experience.
    1st story. They were a tyrannical boss that thought they couldn't be fired because they were the face of the company's LGBTQ inclusiveness. First off, everyone can be fired. Had a former Team Lead at a factory who thought because she'd been there for 20yrs was untouchable. She started giving the new supervisor hell and kept cutting corners and stopping nearly an hour early so she could wait half an hour to clock out. She pulled the seniority card until finally the plant manager fired her. As for the LGBTQ thing. I had an employee when I was a Department Manager at a small store try and accuse me of being sexist against her for being female which caused a meeting with us and the Store Manager. She claimed I made only women flow merchandise to the floor and kept only men to build furniture which was untrue. I had two people on furniture, and one was a female who would later on my recommendation be promoted to Department Manager of furniture,as well as a female doing lamps. When her claim was debunked the Store Manager dismissed it. She then tried to claim that we were against her because she was Trans which again didn't work because she had already tried using that card to get out of working the front of the store, and we had another Trans employee, AND both Assistant Managers and the 4th Key we're either Gay or Lesbian. She was fired a week later for being a troublesome employee.
    The second story about the HOA. I despise HOA, but it's not always an option especially where I live. Anyways, we had a run in with an HOA via a friend who is renting next to an HOA neighborhood. One day we had a BBQ for a birthday and the HOA came running over trying to claim we couldn't have the party because it disturbed their neighborhood and the cars that were parked there were "Unsightly". Apparently they had a rule that vehicles older than five years had to be hidden in the garage. She eventually tried to step on the property physically turn the music off. Big mistake since it was a friend's expensive setup and I'm a Martial Artist. She tried to push me and I stood my ground and wouldn't budge. She then grabbed the cord and yanked it pulling the laptop with it. My friend was livid and nearly charged her, but I stopped him. She tried to push past me again and this time she was met with me twisting her arm around and slamming her to a table as cops arrived. They saw her attack and I told them I wouldn't let go until they had her in cuffs and would gladly let them cuff me too if necessary. Another friend had video evidence and she was charged with trespassing, vandalism, and assault. Honestly I think the guy in the story handled better than I would have, but no he most definitely wasn't the jerk.
    Lastly the new baby couple. Wow, just Wow. Like they are literally charging admission to see there kid? I get the vaccine, smoking, and perfume, but demanding food, gifts, gift cards, chores, all for an hour? That is absolutely absurd. Had a cousin make ridiculous demands once for us to see his kid, and I've still never met the kid. Most of my family hasn't either. It's one thing to ask for help or assistance, or even suggest a donation, and again I understand some of it, but the rest is quite literally using their kid as a cash cow. They are definitely the jerk in that story.
    Again sorry for the long comment, but this is one of the few videos that actually hit close to home with all three.

    Can't see your child if not vaccinated? Totally reasonable. No deodorant? Um, okay... Bring gifts and do chores? Wait what...?

    That last poster is holding their baby hostage from the rest of the family for free gifts, free food, free labor, and money.
    I get the vaccines, don't pick up the baby without consent, and the no posting pictures online, those are reasonable, but the charging family to be able to see the baby is crazy.
    I'm not a parent nor do I ever want to be, but if my sister told me to PAY her just so I can see my nephew, I wouldn't even bother cause I'm a broke college student too and my sister's a fucking dentist who gets much bigger paychecks than me and she's got a husband and roomate who make good money too

    The last story gave me whiplash with that twist. I heard the first couple requirements and was like "odd but ok" but then I heard chores, money and no exceptions and I was like "ayo what?!". They a total jerks honestly I wouldn't be surprised when someone finds a story from the college kid's perspective

    What I would do is write up a contract, looking up all the correct legal jargon to make it as airtight as possible, that will let them unclog the pipe, but they’d need to pay me a large sum of money to do so as well as pay for the restoration of my yard. It would be cheaper than redoing the pipe so it goes through the HOA, but I wouldn’t be letting them walk all over me.

    Story #4
    THAT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT OK. They are making them do a chore and bring groceries even though they should have to send the dad to do that and the ENTITLEMENT. THAT CHILD SHOULD BE TAKEN AWAY FROM THEM.

    1st story: you can NEVER be the jerk to a karen especially one in your workplace. people who act this way open up the company to so many lawsuits for so many things like harassment, wrongful termination, creating a hostile work environment and on and on.
    2nd story: no OP you are not the jerk. as a teen to even 25 year old before moving out, my parents would just barge into my room whether i was home or not. they would just open the door and do what they wanted. a lot of people are going to say "well its their house, its their rules" which i would agree with if i was 10 but as a teen to adult you are legally entitled to this thing called privacy and not giving it can lead to not only the parents being sued (just hasnt been done that often), arrested (same reason) and/or the person still living at the parents home when they are in their 40s.
    3rd story: OP yes you are the jerk but only because they were a jerk to you first. "you cant place your trash can on our property" you cant connect to the gas line on our property" but as soon as an issue with their property like the sewer line backing up which the clog was on your property, you were just expected to let them handle it and destroy your property. if i were you, i would tell them to disband the HOA then as its only going to cause more issues. and i am betting that the people who showed up were the HOA board members which is why they called you the jerk.
    4th story: Yes OP you are the jerk. i dont even have to listen to the rest of the story and can tell you its for 2 reasons you are. the first is that "you must be up to date on all vaccines" since not only was the covid vaccine rushed to production and approval, its been proven not to work and now they are trying to say that "well getting it was your decision, no one made you get it" when there was literally all these "mandates" of you have to get it but also that you said that "if you visit the first time you are expected to give you a gift card and the baby a gift from your approved list" and that no matter how many times you visit you are expected to bring food or groceries from your approved list and are expected to do a chore around your house.

    • @barvdw
      @barvdw ปีที่แล้ว

      Last story: you may think whatever you like about the Covid vaccine, but you're wrong. While not perfect, it still helped a lot to calm the spreading. More importantly, not allowing sick people: if there's one thing we should have learned from this pandemic, is that you shouldn't mingle when you're sick. Don't force yourself to go into work with a bad cold, or let yourself be forced, it's not just your own health, it's others as well. Parents are absolutely entitled to protect their newborn who has no developed immune system yet.
      I was actually on board with most of their demands, right up until they mentioned the giftcards, after that, no. Just no.

    the last story: I was with the list in the first half but then they got to "you have to buy something of our registry, you have to buy us takeout/groceries, you have to do chores". Hell no, if you need help ask but don´t make me pay to see your baby.

    The third story, I want to initially say "They're jerks."
    But at the beginning they explicitly stated that they MADE that list TO keep people away. They want fewer visitors.
    So idk if I'd call them a jerk. They don't want people around the baby, but they also don't want to explicitly say no. Cause it's family.
    Kinda feel that one tbh.
