    Mirror box, Ulalek, echoes (pay to copy), forsaken monument, scultping steel on forsaken monument, cast any eldrazi and watch arena force a draw because it can't handle the maths.

    and lets not forget that echoes is a kindered enchantment and Ulalek doesn't say "cast an eldrazi CREATURE Spell" so if you have the mana you can easily get two echoes making this stack nonesense even more of a logistical nightmare. I keep flashcards with my deck to help with stack logistics

    How are you able to keep using ulaleks triggered ability? You only casted on spell, meaning you would only use his ability once, right?

    • @Toasted_Capybara
      @Toasted_Capybara หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Echoes of Eternity causes Ulalek's copy ability to trigger twice instead of once. In the first iteration of this mess, you have two Ulalek copy abilities on the stack. One is the original followed by the second trigger Echoes produces.
      Because Echoes' additional trigger of Ulalek's ability is last on the stack, it resolves first putting a copy of Ulalek's triggered ability on the stack.
      Because this and future copies of Ulalek's ability will always resolve before the original trigger, as long as you have the Mana to pay each time it comes around, you will keep putting copies of Ulalek's copy trigger into the stack.
      Ulalek's ability copies everything on the stack, which includes copies of that same ability if you can find a way to get it in there (hence the Echoes of Eternity causing it to trigger when you first cast an Eldrazi spell).
      I know it's confusing, but I hope this helped.

    So long as you have the mana, this can go on forever
    Two Ulalek triggers allow for infinite copies of the first time it triggered, so long as you can pay for it. Ulalek copies spells, then abilities, and you get to choose how you stack the stack, but triggers happen after spells always due to his wording. So those Blisterpods wouldn't hit the field until you choose not pay the two. Also the enchanent copy of the spell is due to a triggered ability. It technically hasn't copied the spell until you let it resolve. So its more like:
    {{Blisterpod}} > [[Copy spell]] > [[Ulalek]] > [[Copy Ulalek]]
    You could then copy the stack and make it
    {{Blisterpod}} > [[Copy spell]] > [[Ulalek]] > {Blisterpod} > [Ulalek] > [Copy spell]
    Or
    {{Blisterpod}} > [[Copy spell]] > [[Ulalek]] > {Blisterpod} > [Copy spell] > [Ulalek]
    The latter is more optimal, and you always keep Ulalek on top unless you want to be able to resolve a way to get mana to be able to pay for his trigger.
    Another round would be:
    {{Blisterpod}} > [[Copy spell]] > [[Ulalek]] > {Blisterpod} > [Copy spell] > {Blisterpod} > {Blisterpod} > [Copy spell] > [Copy spell] > [Ulalek]

    im a bit of a newbie when it comes to these kind of stack stuff, at 3:20 he says "lets copy it again" im assuming by using ulalek's ability, but how? isnt his ability triggers when you cast an eldrazi spell? the spell was already cast and now you copy it with ulalek and with the enchantment, how does the extra stack copy here able to happen?

But u still need to pay both for it and the copies and since it all triggers simultaneously you choose where it goes and when u want/can make it trigger to copy the stack u pay for it on resolution, u dont pay for it on trigger cause again, its a triggered ability

    And this is why I am happy attractions are legal in commander. Ferris wheel my beloved, when sacced after phasing something out, only "Time and Tide" and "Karn Liberated" (specifically his ultimate) will get you your commander back once it got scooped up by the wheel.
    (Ferris wheel phases something out until your roll a 3 or lower to visit an attraction, if you don't have attraction, say, because they are artifacts, and you have an artifact sac outlet, you do not roll to visit attractions, and thus whatever is phased out stays away permanently. You might think there is a condition that the thing comes back if the ferris wheel leaves, but that is not the case. (also also, if you want to be even more evil, you leaving the game (say because you lost the game to someone who is miffed about not having their commander) will not return the commander, it remains phased out))

    Trying to learn the deck and after trying to learn since Ulalek’s release, I can confidently say I’m still lost when it comes to stacks. For example: Ulalek and Roaming Throne are out. I played Writhing Chrysalis and also pay 2 mana for Ulalek’s ability. I know two copies of Writhing Chrysalis are made but I’m not certain if the copies also create tokens, because if they do, each Writhing Chrysalis creates four tokens, giving me 12 tokens that can be sacced for mana.
    I now know of another Eldrazi card I want now though lol

      thats why you have the echoes of eternity. when the blisterpod or other thing goes on the stack you get 2 ulalek triggers. then you use the one trigger to copy the other trigger just sitting there waiting to resolve. newer abilities resolve b4 later abilities so as long as you keep chosing to copy all triggers that first ulalek trigger will never resolve and will be able to be copied.

    just need either roaming throne or echoes of eternity and you have a infinite army.
    and ulalek ability procs off of the copies. so long you have the mana. UNLIMITED POWER
    edit: my mistake. it was ulaleks ability getting copies by echoes or throne that was then getting copied by ulalek.

    • @DaltonWaksmunski
      @DaltonWaksmunski 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It does not proc off of the copies. It only procs off of the cast trigger and a copied spell is not being cast. It does go infinite quite a few ways though

      @@DaltonWaksmunski . i once turned 1 eldrazi ravager into 46 ravagers in mtg arena. i think what happened was, roaming throne and echoes copies ulaleks ability. and bens ulalek copies the whole stack. that includes his own ability that was going off a second time. so my mistake.

    So.. would this stack look the same, but with 4 copies of the echoes if there are 2 echoes on the field?
    Asking cuz I pulled this off turn 4 and paid for Ulalek's ability 3 times, and I am curious what would happen past that. 😅 The goal is to make a formula to expedite the calculation process for 2+ echoes on the field.

    With Ulalek ability can you pay 2 as many times as you want to copy a spell or is it only one time per spell?

    • @shadows-xn3ed
      @shadows-xn3ed 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you can get a second copy of his triggered ability on the stack, his ability doubles it… meaning you can basically infinitely copy that section of the stack over and over as long as you can pay the 2 mana.
      The reason the chain gets longer and longer is because you don’t need to pay 2 for every section, you just need to pay 2 before the entire stack ends.
      Meaning you can get to absurd numbers in a very short amount of time.

  • @MrOwl96

    I’m curious, the way I understood it is that Ulalek copies the spells, and then copies the activated abilities or triggers. So I thought Ulaleks ability would always get copied onto the top of the stack to resolve first

    I have a question. If I have ulalek on the battlefield WITH rings of brighthearth AND basalt monolith (infinite mana)...
    If I cast ulamog, the ceaseless hunger and copy that with ulalek....then copy ulalek ability with rings of brighthearth, how many potential ulamog cast triggers and copies of ulamog can I potentially get? (I have mirror box on battlefield so the ulamog copies don't die BTW)

    • @sabartadrel
      @sabartadrel 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Rings of brighthearth cannot copy ulaleks ability since it it triggered not activated. With strionic resonator, lithoform engine or echoes and infinite mana you can have as many as you want.

  • @nobody883
    @nobody883 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Lost me at the "let’s pay two more to double it again" I’m just confused cause what are you paying the 2 towards? After the echoes copy of ulaleks triggered ability, wouldn’t his top triggered ability just resolve, copying everything underneath? I’m confused why you would be able to keep paying 2 to copy everything when you aren’t casting anything. Also if you copy ulaleks ability wouldn’t that just double it and then when resolving it would just infinitely double it while the stack moves down, making the stack infinite? Am I reading too far into the cards description

    • @lawtonaaj
      @lawtonaaj หลายเดือนก่อน

      so the trigger is to get a chance to pay 2 in order to copy so he is paying 2 into one of the ulalek triggers in order to copy the stack. since he has an aditional pay2 to copy the stack trigger on the stack that gets copied as well so he can pay 2 into that to copy the stack again.

      @ReederMG 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I was confused too, but I think what's happening is that multiple instances of the trigger are going on the stack. So you can only pay the 2 once per instance of the trigger, but since you're copying the trigger itself, you effectively are paying the 2 multiple times

    • @lawtonaaj
      @lawtonaaj หลายเดือนก่อน

      nope, thats where echoes of eternity or roaming throne are your friend. because he has 2 ulalek triggers (the 1 per cast and the doubled trigger) he can copy the stack and there is still the one ulalek trigger sitting there waiting to resolve so he can copy that too.
