On the 25th of November 2023, Pathfinder Railtours operated the 'The Winchester Christmas Excursion' which ran as 1Z40 from Burton on Trent to Sailsbury, hauled by Class40 D345 (40145).It was the first frosty morning of the winter
Seen here making a steady approach into Tamworth, after picking a good number of passengers, she made a steady departure up the bank towards s to Sailsbury, via Birmingham, Cheltenham, Cam & Dursley, Bristol Parkway, Swindon, Reading West, Winchester then on to Southampton and Sailsbury, ( it is a Pathfinder tour after all!)
