Best Team for Sinnoh (Remastered)

- Best Team for Sinnoh (Remastered). Welcome to the best team for Sinnoh. The last Sinnoh best team was revolved around Pokemon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum. I wanted to remake the original best team so that it revolved around Pokemon Platinum only. Platinum has a lot better options to pick from in terms of Pokemon and power. Diamond and Pearl lack great Pokemon and trying to revolve around those games and platinum was very difficult to do. Pokemon Platinum is just superior. I hope you guys enjoy this Infernape remastered team!

k so use Ice Punch I thought getting ice punch was too tedious thats why i didnt include it. Also I had no freaking idea, avalanche was negative priority oops. So yeah use Ice Punch or shard. I mess up like this everytime with a best team one way or the other lol.
Whoops! Its okey dokey!
Yay a youtuber that actually looks at the comments
Some Pokémon have a low special defense so avalanche is ok. ice punch or shard though is most recommended

Like last time, I'm not three members in and I ALREADY have a problem with Floatzel's moveset
I'm not saying it's bad (hell, three of the four moves are what I taught my Floatzel in my copy of Diamond!) but personally, I find Ice Fang as a better move for it as it takes advantage of Floatzel's 105 Attack (Or so I'm told). While Floatzel DOES have a respectable 85 Special Attack, I tried using Ice Beam and found it terrible on Floatzel...
I don't want to give anyone the wrong idea! Teams like this are really brilliant! It's the movesets I tend to have problems with! While there ARE understandable choices (Like Infernape's U-Turn), I just HAVE to question some moves!
which hm should i use on which pokémon?
2:06 Chimchar/Infernape
3:59 Floatzel
5:39 Staraptor
7:20 Garchomp
9:00 Jolteon

Aye aye sir
Doing a Nuzlocke of platinum currently. So far I've lost Luxray, kadabra, rotom and geodude.
EDIT
And just lost Floatzel due to a pair of lvl 36 ace trainers wtih Raichu and Gyarados. That combo had supereffective moves to everything except Jolteon and Weaville (who I hadn't got). Seems I will be needing another water type.
Anybody know a way to go around the trade evolution on delta platinum playthrough
Do not put Blizzard on Floatzel... it misses way too much and it uses its 85 special attack. I'd rather get Ice Punch and use its 105 attack with full accuracy
Yeah, if Blizzard misses against a grass type you can be screwed
My only real problem I have with Floatzel is that Aqua Jet is really the only physical water stab it gets until you get Waterfall.
Ice beam ftw
Use Golduck instead, it does the same job while being bulkier (and learns almost every single HM which is convenient)
Why not ice fang?

*HM SLAVES*
Demon Joker What are these HM slaves? sorry. new to the game. though thats pretty late for me
Mochi x Wobble A better explanation than that one is a pokemon that is given hm’s that do stuff that helps you advance (cut, strength, rock break, etc.) instead of more effective moves, so you don’t have to teach those moves to your actual roster.
200th like
@@snapbuildsph hm slaves are Pokemon that you don't train, but keep on your team to travel the map. Like if I had my starter at level 45 and have a random level 6 pidgey for fly, you would call that Pokemon an hm slave (moves that can be used out of combat like that are taught to Pokemon using HMs)
@@snapbuildsph a "throwaway" pokemon thats just there to take dage so you can heal/revice main pokemon and just load with hidden moves like surf n stuff

Paul Savage r u kidding me
That could have saved me so much time 😅
Major tip. There is a hidden razor claw in one of the galactic hideouts, which helps you get Weavile FAR earlier. I can't remember the exact hideout but i think it's the one where you free the lake spirits. Just keep your dowsing machine on.
Also, this team has a lot of physical attackers. Might wanna consider that.
Gastrodon is still very viable even though u already have a ground type. same for Gyarados.
Consider using a Blissey (preferably in place of the jolteon). This is one of the few games in which it is easily obtainable. Chansey is an uncommon encounter in routes 209 and 210. It gets a variety of coverage moves and is (obviously) UNBELIEVABLY tanky, especially for special moves.
Those are all my tips, hidden razor claw is the main one tho.
its the veilstone base that has the razor claw
Just saying, staravia can learn aerial ace at lvl 28 so you don’t even need the TM for it

Buddy. It's not bad to have SOME slow pokemon, it's just bad to have a team made up of ALL or MOSTLY slow pokemon. You will probably want gastrodon over floatzel. Every team needs a tank.

I personally prefer Drifblim instead of staraptor! Thing just....eats damage.
> Draco Meteor on a physical attacker
> Avalanche on the fastest ice-type in the game
Hmmmmmmmm
for weavile use ice punch, for garchomp use dragon claw and outrage in the postgame. If you can trade with HGSS you can breed with Dragonite for Outrage
Mixed chomp aka chain chomp was a thing you know
>Using Hyper Beam
Draco meteor has such high power that it makes up for it
Plus since it lowers special attack, your other attacking moves will be unhindered
Dragon claw is better tho
Flamethrower over flare blitz is also nice on Infernape because it is special, not physical. People sleep on mixed attackers because you have to make sacrifices on natures/EV investment, but sometimes it's very nice to have a mixed attacker. You never know when you're going to get walled by a big, bulky pokemon with extremely high defense but poor special defense (skarmory for example)
Avalanvhe on weavile? Bad idea, sneasel has the worst defense, so using a negative 4 priority move is like begging to be killed.
I would rather use ice punch from tutor move instead.
You've got a point. I haven't even gotten to that part of the video yet
@@icyflares i think the main reason we included ice type in this team is to get rid of cynthia's garchomp and togekiss (and yet we have floatzel and jolteon), so having avalanche on weavile is kinda pointless i think. I would replace it with frosslass or glalie instead.
@@icyflares I've just check at serebi and bulbapedia, there is a move tutor at route 212 that can teach ice punch (i don't find anything that says its not aviable untill late game, at least not in platinum). Well I saw the problem in this team being that there are no pokemon who can stall or be defensive, just glass cannon sweepers with superb speed, so to balance it up I made my own team of platinum, and besides the another reason for this team was electric types, I'll give short explanations and a moveset for every member, I'm currently platinum with 4 of the team's members with me BTW. So here it goes:
#1: Infernape (Naive nature is good)
Flamethrower (flare blitz if u wanna use recoil moves),
Close Combat (brick break is good alternative if you don't like the defensive stats decrease)
Thunder Punch (for water & flying types, to teach it, go to feugo Ironworks with star pieces, they are also found on certain routes, get 2 red shards and 6 blue shards go to the move tutor on route 212, a hiker in a house mid route, teach thunder punch in exchange for those shards)
U-turn (in case u encounter psychic poke's or a poke infernape can't beat at that point)
Go watch Eryzo's video, you will get why Infernape is our choice even here
#2: Staraptor (Gave it Jolly to improve it's speed even tho the speed is well but still ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
Return (if your pokemon have high friendship or else use something like um............Giga Impact?)
Fly (of course we need a flyer, besides fly has good accuracy, power, and you will dodge ALMOST every move on 1st turn of use, and will HIT HARD ON 2ND. Good to use to KO a pokemon when Staraptor is in a pinch)
Close Combat (coverage against rock, steel etc, learnt on level 34, JUST WHEN IT EVOLVES! so Don't forget to evolve your Staravia before Maylene, IT WILL HELP AGAINST LUCARIO!)
U-turn or any other move you want to use on Raptor (your choice, it's filler spot, U turn is good choice but we gave it to our Flame ape............he needs it more than this guy)
Use Crobat if you want, but we all know the best Gen 4 flyer is STARAPTOR. Mystic told why in this video.
#3: Roserade (I chose bold nature to improve its defense, this is a BALANCED best team after all)
Petal dance (best move for grass it can get, it will DEFINITELY destroy ground and water types)
Sludge Bomb (Best poison move it can get)
Stun spore (good for catching pokemon and against fast pokemon Rosy might run into, good for tight spots during a fight, paralyzing opponent is useful, Ja?)
Giga drain or Toxic (another filler spot, these 2 moves are good. Giga drain to recover while damaging and toxic for slow dea- I mean slow faint)
1st, we need something to deal with crasher wake until we get our electric type, and no I'm not gonna use Luxray and I'll explain about that later. 2nd Water-Ground pokes can be pain in a$$ sometimes, especially Bertha's pokemon. 3rd It's the best grass type available in Sinnoh.
#4: Gastrodon (give it Brave nature for improving attack, you will need it)
Surf (WE NEED SURFER AND IT'S AWESOME MOVE FOR WATER TYPES)
Waterfall (needed for travel and awesome move to utilize it's attack stat we will improve)
Earthquake (best ground move you can get before postgame and the reason we gave it attack raise)
Ice Beam (coverage against it's only weakness- G R A S S)
Water and ground in 1 slot, with good stats, just improve it's attack and it will do a awesome job, good defensively, and we need 2 slots for 2 pokemon so no Floatzel and Garchomp in my team, besides I like Donny so I don't have problem using it, but your choice, you can use the Floatzel and Garchomp, just empty a slot for other members.
#5: Magnezone (modest, Relaxedand quiet are best natures for it, but your choice)
Thunderbolt (best move for any electric type with good special attack, and Magny has EPIC SPECIAL ATTK)
Flash cannon (to utilize it's steel typing and pretty good move for Magny)
Magnet rise (BEWARE GROUND TYPES! USE MAGNET RISE TO PREVENT OHKO)
Signal beam or Tri attack (2 good options for 4th move)
Jolteon doesn't get ANY electric moves until it's too late, And the reason I'm not using luxray is because even tho it has good attack and decent spcl attk, it has neither good speed to outspeed other pokes before opponent strikes, nor good defenses to take a hit and THEN attack, but Magnezone DOES have those defenses, WITH A EPIC SPCL ATTK! useful electric type overall, tho unobtainable until we beat Crasher wake, useful against Water types, and Even if roserade covers water, we need something to hit flying types hard until we get our ice type lategame. So the fina pokemon, the ice type I was talking about iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis............... (drumroll pls)
#6: ABOMASNOW! joking *chuckles*
the real ice type iiiiiiiiiiiiiis...(ok sorry pls play the drumroll I'm not joking this time pls)
real #6:Weavile (adamant nature for it)
Ice punch (move tutor on route 212 in exchange for 2 red and 6 blue shards)
Night slash (get a heart scale by either bringing the news guy in solaceon, best way to get one. Go to pastoria, there is a house there, maybe around the gym. talk to the puffed blue and white shirt guy, the move relearner to teach Night slash in exchange of heart scale. It's best dark move for Vily, Good to deal
Aerial Ace (coverage against Fight and bug types)
X scissor or Brick break (your choice, but I prefer Brick Break- Gives more coverage on types Vily is weak to; than scissor)
The anti-Garchomp weapon! IT WILL OUTSPEED CHOMPY EVEN WHEN UNDERLEVELED, AWESOME ATTACK STAT TO OHKO AND GOOD MOVEPOOL! MYSTIC EXPLAINED EVERYTHING ANYWAYS! IT WILL DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESTROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOYYYYYYYYYYYYYY GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARCHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMP! And also Weavile is good solution to Lucian.
That was the team I've made, I have Infernape, Staraptor, Roselia and Gastrodon in my team till now, I'm in Pastoria, gonna beat water gym today.
id ratehr take porygon z then amgfnezone tbh. if we tlak on emulator. must better coverage. less tanky but..yeah

This team is great and all, but the movesets are lacking the HMs.
I had Cut on my Gabite for most of the game...
Yea you're gonna have to swap out pokemon in the PC for your HM slaves to get through some sections
How to forget HMs before move deleter:
1. level up the pokemon to one level before it learns a new move
2. put the HM move in the first slot
3. take the pokemon to daycare, walk/bike around until it levels up and take it back
4. the HM move will be replaced by the new move
@@xyzzy-dv6te Oh shite thanks bro
One word
Bidoof
Infernape - Agree
Floatzel - Agree with the choice, I think Ice Beam is wasted on it though - just Heart Scale 'Ice Fang' (or Tutor 'Ice Punch' if you do the underground at all)
Staraptor - I feel its completely wasted on a team with Infernape. The old gold standard flyer Crobat is an option, but because his typing has competition in this region you can go with your access to Togepi in Platinum, and use Togakiss - who can play the "normal type that can sure up team coverage" role quite well.
Garchomp - Agree if you want to use the pseudos on your team.
Jolteon - Disagree. Why go through the trouble of back leveling something to turn it into a thunderbolt-bot? You can just slap the Thunderbolt TM on a decent special attacker and do that, or don't waste that and just use Luxray to Electric-bot through the water routes instead.
Weavile - I like the non-standard choice. The real problem here is gen 4 Weavile has a problem exploiting its ICE Stab, Avalanche is a death sentence, so you basically have to keep this as a Sneasel until level 49 - where it finally gets 'Ice Shards' and can sweep dragons (particularly this gen's x4 weak dragon).
Some other considerations:
Drapion - RNG to get him quick enough, but if you do you got a surprisingly bulky pokemon that is still faster than most of the region that has your Dark coverage and all the fangs to sure up coverage lacking on your team.
Roserade - Great special attacker (Sinnoh is a more physical region) really just held back by its lack of move coverage but it can bring some great utility to the team in its place.
Lucario - I suggest the special sets on an Infernape team so he isn't acting like Staraptor and competing for Close Combats, and Sinnoh teams just generally lacking special attackers sometimes (Steel's resistances allowing him to set up Nasty Plot helps).

Personally, the most underrated Pokemon for a Sinnoh Playthrough, is Azumarill.
Ability: Huge Power
Moves:
Brick Break
Double Edge
Waterfall
Ice Punch
I used Azumarill in my 1st playthrough, and it one-shot Cynthia's Garchomp with Ice Punch. People think Azumarill was only good when it became a fairy type. I think the thing that made it good was the Physical/Special Split, and the Huge Power ability.
I feel like octillery is very underrated, I used one once and it was amazing. The problem with Jolteon is that it learns no good moves until an extremely high level.
My very first platinum team was this team but replace jolteon with luxaray. Amazing experience. Big reason why gen 4 is my all time favorite
Sneasel is an old favorite of the series. So When I played Platinum I was so happy to get Weavile. I Also proudly had my entire gen 2 line up for the game which were, Rapidash, Feraligatr, Scizor, and Espeon. Fearow wasn't until much later so I just used Pelliper as an HM mon.
I prefer Ice punch for floatzell and Mach punch on infernape... also, AVALANCHE ON WEAVILE. Dude wait till sneasel learns Ice shard or Ice punch with parts...

Who do I teach cut and the other hms
@@Zhrmald you can teach bidoof cut and rock smash if you want a pokemon to learn flash you can teach shinx flash but you shouldn't use them in your team
Whoo that was really good. Jolteon is arguably one of if not the best electric type because of its ridiculous speed and spA. It is unfortunate that the phys/spec split took away the use of the spA stat by bite, but it does let hyper beam use it. Floatzel is an excellent choice that you can’t really go wrong with and because of the speed of this team, it should have no problem getting the jump on anyone. If you are using weavile and take damage, just revenge hit with avalanche I can almost guarantee you’re faster (this way you get avalanche w/2x power and the next hit after that [especially if using ice shard]). I believe he is faster than jolteon. Something I would love to see, to cap this all off, is a sinnoh league rematch team. One suggestion of mine would be to super rod for male dratini, raise it to 50 w/o evolving, breed w/ female gible and raise outrage garchomp. There is no recharge and you should be able to nuke anything right into oblivion with 2 to 3 hits then switch or give Persim or Lum Berry. If you already used the eq tm for your first one, you will have to sacrifice it to have outrage, but larvitar can be found in outbreaks west of the resort area and makes a suitable breeding partner because it can also egg learn outrage from dratini (pls comment if you know others that can learn both and fit in monster/dragon) so with hard work and patience, you can get it back if you know enough about breeding. Go outrage through dratini>gible>larvitar then eq+outrage through larvitar>garchomp

>"best team"
>no gyarados
lmao
facts 😭 gyarados is basically it’s own team tho lol
Honestly depends on wether you want speed/a bit of sp. Attack or bulk/more attack
Gyarados has worse sp attack and surf is a dead move slot while floatzel cand kinda use it. Gyarados also only gets ice fang and is slower than garchomp, while floatzel gets ice punch and outspeeds at same level and with neutral natures. I guess it's slow speed and bulk can use 120 avalanche though? Floatzel gets priority aqua jet and dig/crunch for coverage. Gyarados can't take thunderbolts while dig and the 115 speed can help against the last gym a bit. Gyarados does get earthquake but it is better as a stab on gabite early while floatzel can get by with dig. Also Gyarados does need to wait for stab physical moves while aqua jet is at least kind of useful early? And floatzel gets crunch as it evolves right before the ghost gym.
Biggest mistake is jolteon instead of magnezone, steel in gen 4 resists dark n ghost and even fighting moves do nothing due to that defense stat.
Draco Meteor on Garchomp is bad, you should definitely go with Dragon Claw.
its not, its huge power draco meteor, and garchomp has good enoughh special attack to use it.
@@kds6992 Garchomp still has a better attack Stat and can spam dragon claw, wheres draco Meteor first attack might be slightly more Powerfull but All following will be pityful

That'd make it way too complicated and long .
I'm playing Pokemon Platinum for the first time like ten years after beating Pearl and it's super weird. Like, I played SM before Platinum and immediately recognized Looker. Team Galactic is also now up there with my scariest villain groups, next to Aether foundation and Team Plasma. I
You can use Ice Punch instead of Avalanche . It does more damage and you can teach to Weavile via move relearner. Also you can get the razor claw in the team galactic base in veilstone City
Sneasel and Weavile don't learn Ice Punch via level up in any of the Sinnoh games, thus can't learn it through the move relearner.
Bruh moment.

Why are all of the Pokémon fast? I feel like you're focusing on speed too much, but perhaps I'm just biased, some of my favourite Pokémon aren't fast and can take a hit in exchange.
I'd love to see more teams in the future have a more balanced distribution of stats. Having a wall or purely support Pokémon isn't a bad strategy.
it isnt a bad strategy but since its in-game and not pvp you may as well use a hyper offensive team to clear the game faster
I've tried this and..... 5/6 is good (in Platinum). Jolteon is not functioning well as an anti-water type, it should be replaced by Gardevoir in Platinum. Gardevoir cover more with it's Magical Leaf attack for those pesky Gastrodons, Whishcashes and Quagsires. It should do better than Jolteon, but it will have a few trouble when facing Crasher Wake Floatzel's Crunch attack (Just let Quick Claw do the trick).
Gardevoir moveset:
-Psychic (STAB)
-Shadow Ball (Coverage vs psychic, especially Lucian's team)
-Shockwave/Thunderbolt (For Flying/Water Types)
-Magical Leaf (For Water/rock/ground types, especially ground-water type mons)
Try getting the Timid one for more speed, or just give her Quick Claw.
Infernape - Completely agree
Staraptor - Completely agree
Flotazel / Gastrodon - Golduck is a better choice. It has speed like Flotazel
It is bulky like Gastrodon

Lucario is great but u get him in late game
Infernape is better option
Lucario can be replaced by 2 better Pokémon IMO: Steelix and Machamp
Steelix has a massive physical defense, and if used right; could take out Cynthia’s Garchomp. Steelix can be found in Iron Island and Victory Road, or evolve it by trade. Machamp is okay I guess, I do not see much use other than Bertha’s Golem and Sudowoodoo. Machamp can only be traded to obtain.
Or if you chose infernape, use that instead of Lucario/Machamp.
Edit: I beat diamond and I got a shiny steelix from a random Onix, I lost diamond though and it has my platinum team for grinding
Infernape and Gallade literally far outclasses lucario... but if it's for in game team then it's fine.

@@LSabreZ you get shinx so much earlier
@@everyoneismeta You still get eevee way before water gym
xyzzy51273 how? Would trophy garden be my best bet vs waiting till closer to endgame?
Either works really. Just depends on your preferences.
Luxray is a little bulkier all-around, and has more versatility, since it has great physical attack and still good special attack. It's move pool isn't the best, but it can still access the likes of Crunch and Ice Fang for quality coverage.
Jolteon is MUCH faster, and has considerably better Special Attack, thus allows it better utilize the Electric-movepool. Attacks like T-Bolt and Discharge will hit harder from Jolteon's base 110 than it would through Luxray's base 95. It also gets Shadow Ball, which is nice.
I would choose luxray over Jolteon only because the water gym, you wouldn’t have Jolteon by then and shinx you get very early game, hope this helps😁
Actually, you can use Jolteon before Pastoria Gym, the Thunder Stone and a Shock Wave TM are obtainable before Veilstone City
