In this video, I talk about the idea of recovery from agoraphobia - is it possible? Can you really get to a place of being able to travel and work and live and move freely in the world again, after experiencing debilitating panic and anxiety, and being housebound or severely limited by fear?
I discuss the three key points that I think are important to acknowledge and embrace during the recovery journey, and why your belief in your ability is necessary to get you willing to go through the messy middle.
Please feel free to continue the discussion in the comments, I’d love to hear your thoughts! 🥰

I’ve been like this for over 5 years now. It’s such hard work to leave the house without being petrified. I feel so alone most of the I hate being in the position that I’m in I miss my life so much I am doing small journeys walking outside every day but still afraid to go more than 5 mins away from my house

Please don't give up. I was like you for years and couldn't walk 10 metres outside. Just do small things consistently and be brave, I know it's so so hard. Just don't stop fighting, and believe you can get better. xx

Hi, I'm no longer extremely petrified of leaving the house however health anxiety is so bad! Every sensation, every food that I'm about to eat just sets me off smh

I'm at the same point pretty much. I am able to leave my house now, do some normal things, but the leftover health anxiety is still there. Every little bodily sensation sends my mind racing and it's hard for me to just chill out. I've listened to Lauren and Shaan on TH-cam and their videos have greatly helped though. It unfortunately can take a very long time to fully recover from anxiety the old fashioned way. Don't measure your progress day to day, measure it month to month or maybe even season to season, that's what has helped me.

@@Her_8485 get everything cleared by a doctor or two, and then just accept it as anxiety. Be brave!

I just managed a big trip on a train where the toilets were both out of order. It was not fun! I am doing things but taking loads of loperamide and codeine
