Emily, sorry I must chime in: you present a mid-length skirt in the video in which you describe the pattern as plaid and your mother, in the background, cry’s out “blanket plaid.” The pattern appears to be a tartan pattern, not a plaid. If you wish to be a fashion influencer, you should know about stuff like that. Anna Wintour would probably cringe.
You do not need to know everything all at once when you start out. She's fine and will continue to learn. Its nice to see someone who asks questions and is learning.
