I love those whispers for the wild magic. Very ominous, very great. 11:11 And just like the dear corn monster, these people just can't stop themselves from crawling inside of the enemy.
I love that you can tell how much Emily as a player cares about Kugrash, because I do the exact same thing with my partner's characters! I think it's impossible to hear someone you love gush about their character and not get attached to them as well
Knowing their name and being given their name is different. I can tell any fae I want anyone else's name because it isn't mine to give. The same as if you tell a fae a fake name instead of your true name.
I like the sound effects a lot. This could definitely give critical role a run for its money. Not that it’s a competition of course. 😉 There’s plenty of space in the dnd fanbase for everyone.
They’re production quality is higher, but critical role to me is a more tense and gritty adventure compared to what I’ve seen of dimension 20 being (fantasy high, a crown of candy, and this one)
@@gage6082 I’d agree with that, I love CR but D20 has consumed my life since campaign 2 of CR ended. It’s much more condensed and humor focused/paced but still manages to pull the same emotions out of you. The production is much tighter and probably costly lol but goddamn do they compliment each other well. CR is what you watch to get slowly immersed into a new classic fantasy world and D20 is what you watch for fast paced witty dialogue and action that moves at an even pace with incredible and unique settings that sound insane from their pitch. Watching EXU after finishing fantasy high and now moving through the unsleeping city just cements to me that having both in your life keeps you varied and true.

@@Blasted2Oblivion it means you are the edge of it, so essentially, it's 15 feet forward from your square and covers the 2 squares on either side of each of those 3 squares. Technically, it doesn't have to be forward, it could also be backward, or to either side, or, depending on the grid system, potentially diagonal as well.
@@Blasted2Oblivion There is diagram of it on p204 of the PHB, but it isn't that clear. The "point of origin" can be "anywhere on a face of the cubic effect" - so basically you take a cube that is 15ft in each direction and you can move/rotate it however you like so long as some part of it (an edge, a corner, any part of a surface) is touching the person casting Thunderwave. One of the few options not available is for the caster to be in the middle of the cube - they have to be on the edge.
What I like about this, is that it feels real, like the long silences as the players ponder their next move, the "can I do?" before checking the rules. Like I love critical role, but it is so polished, where as this feels way more just, real I guess.
Coming into this series during the winter season, watching them battle Santa’s while people are starting to put up their Christmas decorations feels so right

I love that you can tell how much Emily as a player cares about Kugrash, because I do the exact same thing with my partner's characters! I think it's impossible to hear someone you love gush about their character and not get attached to them as well
Wait- are Emily and Murph together? Or are you using your relationship as an example? :0
@@shineyluna1268 Emily and Murph are married
Oh god it’s terrible that the fey would find a magical list full of names
Eh I'm sure it's fine
So many people… handed on a silver platter…
Knowing their name and being given their name is different. I can tell any fae I want anyone else's name because it isn't mine to give. The same as if you tell a fae a fake name instead of your true name.
Me: already watch all of uc on dropout
Dimension 20: uploads to TH-cam
Me: time to watch again!
me too, we in this TOGETHER
Aye, just wanna say I have a HUGE fear of rats and mice and Brian is a total legend cuz he's actually helping me kinda cope with that.
Sometimes we just need our fears portrayed as a compassionate but gruff magical New Yorker to help us get to the next step
All rats and mice are all secretly him as a new yorker
I started with cit role but fell in love with Brennan characters in FH. the cubby family was the best thing I've ever seen
@@allibababoo god the cubby family gave me so much life
@@ohkarmaohprince just remember that laws are threats made by the socio economic ruling class of a given nation and the police are a standing army.
Bud cubby for life!!!
LITERALLY JUST wondered if l had to head to bed to see this again because of the time difference! Oh me of little faith, of course Dimension 20 delivers in time!
Looks like it wanted you to stay....unsleeping 😎

Officer Epona: "Sometimes rules are rules."
Lady there are dead bodies all over central park and these people just saved Santa from terrifying mutant santa clones. I think that's a good enough time to have a beer. Or Mike's hard.
Those dead bodies are back at Time Square not in Central Park and the officer was not informed about any mutant Santas or that they saved Santa, just saying.
I love that response to the wild magic surge lol "oh you can just total party wipe"
I love when people cast Faerie Fire. By far my favorite first level spell. Nice when you don't need it and absolutely clutch when you do.
I can’t wait to rewatch unsleeping city on TH-cam!
like 5 times now, and everytime there's a new upload
i L O V E watching Murph help people figure out their rolls when they get confused 🤩
Anyone else notice how there are no tables or anything for them to fail climbing up on?
You’re wrong there’s one thing
My favorite line:
kugrash: "I'm gonna do something a little risky here... cuz I'M A FUCKIN RAT"
lol im dead
i became filled w fear when they started calling the santa clones cute. like my brain started doing mental math of which 5 characters will die by the end of the episode
"Am I on the bad list? 🥺"
"Ricky, no..."
Got me rolling so hard
You got a new player playing Sorcerer. Instead of stopping the whole game to check the ability, you flow and you make your own ruling. That's the right way!
At least it's the Unbleeping City this episode.
🤭 yep
I JUST FOUND THIS SERIES AND I LOVE THE DMS ACTING MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE IVE EVER SEEN
Brennan's the best!
Brennan makes me desperately want to up my DM game, and I don't even DM.
@@mysticwolf11 He makes me want to up my DM game, and I DM
Shiovan: oh yeah I have 27 hit points.
Me with 27 hit points in another campaign: Welp I tripped on a stick and took 47 damage time to make death saving throws
What was that stick, a Staff of Power?
is "Mr.March" gonna become the riz "the ball" guckgack of this seris? 😆
The gang discovers how busted paladin is
I just love how universal the confusion surrounding cubes are in D&D. Not even Brennan understands them.
Yeah the Thunderwave cube thing is a holdover from 4e. It's easier to get right in 4e ruleset because a lot of area effects work in that way there.
It's a 15ft cube originating from you. Does that mean you are the center or that you are on one edge of it
@@Blasted2Oblivion it means you are the edge of it, so essentially, it's 15 feet forward from your square and covers the 2 squares on either side of each of those 3 squares.
Brennan feels so much more cool and strong as The DM in this series, maybe because it’s New York but he’s not afraid to be the bad guy
Fantasy high was everyone's first time playing 5e as well so he probably went easier on them so they could learn the rules a bit
i love that murph is just consistently little scurrying dudes
Of course Ricky always believed in Santa 😂
What I like about this, is that it feels real, like the long silences as the players ponder their next move, the "can I do?" before checking the rules. Like I love critical role, but it is so polished, where as this feels way more just, real I guess.
It's also the difference between people who have played a lot of 5e and people who are playing their second campaign in 5e
Kugrash is definitely gonna be my favorite character throughout this, I can already tell.
Coming into this series during the winter season, watching them battle Santa’s while people are starting to put up their Christmas decorations feels so right
Ricky doesn't even know he's good, lol.
