Lou is like D20's Sam. Just effortlessly charismatic and likeable but just in a completely different way . Was amazing to get to see them both together in EXU.
Brennan really loves RPing with Emily and Lou so much. Especially Emily, he matches her crackhead energy with his own level headed DM energy so well. God damn, i love watching these guys play.
I love watching him and Emily, the goldenrod/fig interactions in fantasy high were great. But Lou just leans in to the epic moments and Brennen just eats it up. Seacaster manor, bill seacasters last stand, the bloodball games, fighting on the dragons back etc... Lou and Brennan have awesome energy crafting epic scenes... when the rolls go his way and don't cause him to run in terror continually or slip off of tables and side rails.
Siobhan's portrayal of someone who draws power from the adoration of others, but instead of draining it from them in a toxic way, she literally gets power from empowering, inspiring, and lifting up others is such a dope turn from the traditional portrayal of "glamour" powered charecters as parasitic. Have you checked out Brennan (the DM)'s comic with Molly Ostertag, Strong Female Protagonist? I just binge-read it and it's SO GOOD. If you enjoyed this, I think you'll dig that, too.
On my first watch I expected Sophia to be that bitter divorce that's like "You don't KNOW him! In five years he's just gonna up and leave you and you'll wonder if he finally just got sick off you!" I'm probably wrong, but I got the impression (maybe it was just because of his appearance) that Dr. Lugash might be a golem whose creator erased the ת in the אמת on his forehead to let him become human.
It's such a great blind introduction, letting us experience the supernatural world for the first time through the eyes of someone who is also experiencing it for the first time. Probably the best beginning to any D20 campaign at just how good it introduces the world and sets up the plot. Just stunning.
What a great GM. The accents, the narration, the great planned and impromptu stuff. And the players! Engaged in the roleplay and immersed in the story so clearly. Enjoyable is an understatement, Amazing is somewhat closer.
Speaking as a 30-year DM, Emily is a dream player. Completely into her characters emotional foundation, and massively talented in improv and story building. New players, please take notes!
I still get emotional when I see the intro for Pete. This was one of the first Dimension 20 episodes I ever watched. Now I'm almost fully caught up with all the seasons, and all the episodes. The intro for Pete still gets me. The use of Sinatra, every part of it is utterly brilliant.
The dynamics between Brennan and Lou are always great. I have no idea how they are so perfectly on the same wavelength with so many different characters.
I love how the different classes they chose sort of dictated whether or not they knew about the unsleeping city. Like, of course Kugrash, Misty, Kingston, and Ricky all knew about it because their specific classes give them magic that they control and understand, where as Sofia is a drunken master monk, a class that does not use magic or spells, and Pete is a wild magic sorcerer, so his magic hadn't been realized at this time and therefore it was reasonable that he didn't know about the unsleeping city either.
man, i fucking love how respectful and tactful all of the things that could EASILY be offensive/jokes are when done by brennan. Talking about a transgender PC's top surgery/father deadnaming them or having Black characters played by a white DM talking in a slight AAVE + NY accent could be ABSOLUTELY NIGHTMARISH given the wrong DM. But Brennan ain't the wrong DM.

The way Murph looks at Em when she describes her character; like she's the most creative and funny genius in the world. He looks proud and lucky. Everyone deserves to find someone who looks at them like that! Couples goals!
I'm sure you don't read the comments here, but something I just wanted to say is that a character like Wally is nice to see in any media. My son has Down syndrome, and I doubt you intended Wally to seem like this, but his persona just reminded me of my son. My eyes teared up when Ricky calmed down that little girl, wow Zach’s characters make me weak. Also, I’m so pumped about Pete, I don’t think I’ve seen a trans guy as a PC in a campaign and I’m already vibing HARD with the bad break up pains and the complete lack of care towards his deadnaming dad.
I would've loved Pete if they weren't just constantly doing drugs and trying to give people drugs and just generally acting like a twat. No offence to Ally, that's the character they created and they play Pete well but it's just a character I hate.

@@blooberri666 acknowledging trans people's existence being itself political isn't necessarily wrong, (in fact I'd argue ignoring that it isn't is worse). Can I just say, I love how Emily and Murph's characters always interact and take care of each other lol... like, they always get along, and, in Fantasy High, Fig always gives Bardic Inspiration to Riz (well, and every one, but Riz a lot) and Riz often chooses to follow Fig when she rushes into possible danger rather than take another option. @@elizabethlockhart2103 Them being very good friends helps too.

Talking about a transgender PC's top surgery/father deadnaming them or having Black characters played by a white DM talking in a slight AAVE + NY accent could be ABSOLUTELY NIGHTMARISH given the wrong DM.
