I don't mind the propulsion whine, but the insides are so noisy on the type 8s. Compared to the 7s, which are much quieter. I always go for the type 7s when both are available in a 2 trolley set :x
the 1st red line train was going to Alewife the 2nd red line train was also going to Alewife the 1st two green line trains were at park street going outbound to the B,C,D,E branches the 3rd green line train was also at park st. but going to north station the 4th green line train was at north station going towards the b,c,d,e branches the orange line train was going towards forest hills wow that was a mouthful!
The fist two green line trains were going to the E Heath St. Branch I don't know why trains run without type 8s, maybe they don't have enough type 8s in service sometimes (i.e. some might be in the shops, or if it's a busy time they might be all used up in other trains) they try not to do that but it happens occasionally
It's not the whistling that gets to me, it's the squeak. I don't know if it's the trains, the tracks, or what, but the green line has squeaked and squealed forever and it's annoying.
At 1:40 that would be a pair of trolleys with no low floor type 8's on it. The T is horrible about that and there are tons of pairs with either two type 8's or no type 8's.

Yeah I agree, but for some reason I never get tired of the wirring sounds the new blue & red line trains make
