For real some folks really hoarding manga just to flex it lol. They've literally forgotten the point of it all. Kinda like buying a bunch of instruments and not knowing how to play any of em. One of rhe coolest things about seeing someone's bookshelf is that u could look to them and ask them "hey that cover is beautiful whats that one about?" And theyd be able to actually tell u.

I like how you actually complete series one of the things I dislike is when people by a couple volumes and have a bookshelf full of nothing finished! Like I understand if you just like the volume but still
When a lot of the heavy hitters have 15+ volumes... it gets expensive as hell to collect every volume for every series you are into. Say you wanna collect 4 series with each 20 volumes... that’s almost a grand lol. But if you rather just get your favorite volumes, you’ll be much more flexible with your budget. Really, different strokes for different folks. Not everyone wants to spend a crap ton on a few series, and not everyone wants to be flexible with the amount of series they have - but rather have a few completed series.

I love Aku no Hana as well I actually read it when I was the same age as the characters so was complicated for me st first but I started loving it after re-reading multiple times.I really really like Suzuka as well,you should get Smash! as well

That’s the problem with listening to people’s hype, it’s difficult nowadays to disregard a community’s opinion on a certain manga or anime. Because the expectation of a certain quality is subconsciously waiting to be met in the back of our minds. I try my best to ignore what people say about any series other than the baseline takeaway that ‘it’s good’.
Otherwise I find it can be really easy to have a numbed experience in terms of enjoyment which is unfair to ourselves and the content we’re consuming, as expectations that we don’t even know what they are, are waiting to be met. And it almost always falls short because nothing is good enough since it was suppose to be ‘amazing’ or ‘hype’ or ‘mind blowing’, sentiments constantly paraded by the community which ironically detract from the experience itself.
Astra lost in space was phenomenal for a 5 volume series, loved it

there is this which was made and released way back in 2008 but only now are people finding out about it, it seems. I just got into collecting manga I’ve been watching anime for years now but I liked jujutsu kaisen so much I bought volumes 0-8 and read it weekly now since you said it’s so good I’m gonna get berserk
It’s not a series if it’s only 1 book
So many incredible and classic fantasy and sci-fi reads! The story of Astra Lost in Space is fantastic, as is Alita (at least what I’ve read of the first couple volumes). You and several others have convinced me to pick up Planetes and Opus. Also, hoping for that Bokurano rerelease one of these days! Very nice collection!!
So I really don’t want to come off as rude or negative but it was really disappointing to hear you speak about Monster in the tone that you did… I get that it’s just an opinion and you’re allowed to have your own but I just don’t understand why if the series was “overrated” and “not a masterpiece” for you, then why collect the rare first editions? I mean I’m just thinking about how many people out there who are extremely obsessed and attached to the story and would LOVE to own that edition. Just really doesn’t make sense to me to keep something like that when you don’t even understand the hype surrounding the story..
I still think Monster is great so that’s why I own it. Just cuz someone likes it more than me doesn’t mean they deserve to own my manga more than I do

Gundam The Last Outpost is a sidestory of Gundam Wing. Gundam Wing is like IBO in that it is a stand alone series. And Gundam Wing has a manga called Gundam Wing: Glory of the Losers, but I think you should watch the anime before reading the manga to enjoy it.

Blade of the immortal is definitely in my top 5 fav of all time. Soooooooo good! I have the same exact omnibus collection as well! (Hard to find now and expensive if you can) highly recommend any collector of manga to add/read this series. #10outof10

How do you know when certain books are coming back into stock ? I’ve been tryna get certain volumes for series that are out of stock and people resell them like crazy
Personally I have a guy who gives me insider info. Sometimes you can just use common sense when it comes to series like One Piece and Slam Dunk, which are huge cash cows for Viz

Eden is crap. The characters have no depth and they also do nonsensical things regularly. The art is more western than it is eastern. Way too overrated of a series. Didn't care for it at all and sold it promptly.
