I play on normal difficulty and the Red Duke always take out the Lyoness faction within 10 turns...but yea raising money is a struggle...how does confederation work? Even after researching the faction refuses to join
Heya! Sometimes they AI can do some quite strange things - I've honestly seen Settra randomly send out and incursion of Ulthan when he didn't even have the whole South yet! Money with Bretonnia can be a massive issue - if you have enough chivalry to spare and don't mind waiting longer for the Green Knight I may be a good idea to attack weaker factions just to sell the captives back. In terms of confederation as these guys are you also working on them diplomatically as normal? Try get some nonaggression pacts, trade agreements, etc. Remember while the research gives you a massive boost, you may be doing something to lose reputation with the faction - such as trespassing, attacking their allies / friends, etc
Really hate starting a new faction and then getting cucked 15 turns down the road because "OOPSIE, YOU DIDN'T DO THE META!" and then you end up sitting around for a few extra rounds before you lose the settlements you just took and your army gets wiped. Some of these sub-factions just require a specific step-by-step method for the early game, which sucks.
You made some actions or comments w/o saying why like Leon's Devoted to the Goddess and Lightning Strike, which you said was very, very important but never said why.

Hi there, thanks for the comment! The guides are returning this coming week. Sadly I haven't had too much time lately due to busy times at work but recently I have found some time to test theories and play styles for the Empire faction. All factions and lords will be covered as most lords for the same factions do differ in terms of the first 25 turns as far as my research has shown. :)
Hey man, thanks for your guide. I really tried to start the game like you did. Unfortunately the Orks always (like at least 5 tries in a row) invaded my south and attacked/destroyed my village L'Anguille... From there on its quite impossible and a unwinnable struggle :-/ Even Kingdoms like Carcassone start to declare war on me :-D Any idea? I saw the Orks entering your lands in the east and after it just chilling/plundering your north. In my opinion thats exactly what is essential for your start to work.
Hi! Alright yeah the orks from the east can be an issue sadly. I've just started a new game to see how I can resolve this issue for you. Something that can be done is remove your horses due to the high income and field a second army early on. This is to have more of a defence and be more prepared to fight off rebellions when they pop up. Also instead of killing the captives you can focus on releasing them for the extra income as that can come in handy. Are you using any mods? I can try replicate it for you.
Thanks for your reply. Im not using any mods. What difficulty did u play on? I did try it on hard and very hard. Arent the Orks (the ones who destroy my village) from the east part of the second round event causing disorder? I also cant beat them with my actual army, so in case of removing my horses the army becomes even worse. Apart from that all units that can be build would count as peasant and without L'Anguille more thatn 8 troups cost a lot. Furthermore i would need a second general with all the costs. Maybe there was a patch in the past which makes them come from the south for whatever reason??? :-) Regards, Björn
I play all my games on Legendary mode quite like the punishment and the stress haha. The disorder is a normal event that pops for all Bretonnian factions and it lasts for I believe 20-25 turns. -20 public order per turn. You could try ally someone and make them attack the Orks while you build up. It's pretty based on RNG. Sometimes they come from the north and sometimes from the south. I tested it last night and Marienburg for some reason tired to ally me and attack the Orks. Very strange indeed. What are you teching from the start? Instead of going the route I did a good idea would be work to getting rep up with the faction below you. Even if you lose the small town they have their capital can prove useful to form a defensive line.

Thanks to some army movement i could save my village a few rounds but as soon as i leave it to attack the army caused by the disorder they come back and destroy it immediately. Alright try focus on getting the confederation with the faction directly below you as I stated before that may help cos you#'ll have a walled defence. Might be the best way to secure yourself as they'll try focus the wall. The random movement of NPC is exciting due to the changes there is so much replay ability. Currently playing / recording my Chaos campaign and I've had to change my tactics a little more than I would have hoped in the later game due to being split up in random sides of the world.
