If you want to major in computer science, you can discuss how you want to make an impact in industries like health care and education through technology (in your home country). By confidently answering US F-1 visa interview questions, you can prove that you are a legitimate international student who wants to study in the US! Major is the field you study. In my case, my major is psychology, since I am going for a psychology degree. Examples of popular majors can be computer science, English, education, communications, business, etc.
I suggest that you do lots of research on the University or College you'll be attending and go from there. Tell them the course offers better XYZ than your country and that earning a degree at this University/College will help you with your future in your home country (always refer back to your home country and make sure they know you're going back!)
