Paul Revere and the Raiders were HUGE! They aren't forgotten. They had more hits than pretty much all the other groups on your list together. Love is very well-known, too, as their FOREVER CHANGES is widely considered a classic.
I played in two garage bands but some of these Ive never heard of. The Standells were one of my favorites. Another was the Uniques out of Shreveport La. Talked to Joe Stampley a few times and he had a great voice. Then he turned country. Great times!!
Bands like "Electric Prunes" "Strawberry Alarm Clock" "Vanilla Fudge" & especially "Love" are still loved & played, I spin their 45's as often as I can.
Electric Prunes where great as was Paul Revere. Mark Lyndsey from Paul Revere still tours once in a while with the Happy Together tour. Love the music.
James Lowe and the rest of the Prunes were still making new music at least as recently as the mid-2000s. They released an album called Artifact which was very cool. I'm not sure if their website is still active, however.
In 1966, I saw the Standells; they were an opening act for the Rolling Stones. I saw Paul Revere in '66 as well.(and saw them again, I think in the 80s). I really don't think Paul and the Raiders belong on this list. You could say they were a second tier band. Not at Stones or Beatles level, but they did get their share of airplay in the day. And they did keep touring up until 2022.

The reason George Young of the Easybeats mentored AC/DC is because he is Angus Young’s older brother. Dave Purple of the Cryan Shames went on to win a Grammy for engineering Theme From Shaft by Isaac Hayes.

Yes, correct. All the footage is of the UK band, easily distinguished by a different spelling: Cryin' Shames vs Chicago's Cryan' Shames. The UK band were produced by Joe Meek. His signature haunting sound being very prominent in all of his productions especially 'Telstar' by The Tornados, a UK and US #1. Meek committed suicide on the anniversary of Buddy Holly's death, claiming to have had communications with Holly's spirit. Just before killing himself, he shot his landlady. The last record released just prior to his death was a Cryin' Shames single 'Nobody Waved Goodbye'.
During Chicago's Cryan' Shames segment, some of the pics and film are of British band Paul And Ritchie And The Crying Shames. Two completely different acts.

Love most of the bands in this video montage. Paul Revere & The Raiders had a hit in the early 70s, plus they still played up till 2016 or so. Electric Prunes played up until early 2000s or late 90s? Sonics played into the 90s era.
most of these bands were just one hit wonders, that is why they are gone. Paul Revere and the Raiders were great. you also used some of these bands in another one of your sixties forgotten band video's.
The Sonics were buried with the MC5. The labels had no idea what to do with them and their fans didn't inhabit the same mainline clubs as their pop/rock or psychedelic cousins.

This feels like a typical AI generated piece full of errors and a drone like voice over. I grew up with these bands as I'm now over 70. It was a fabulous time to be in a band with all the creativity, social changes and musix culture. Most of these bands were one hit wonders but others flourished. Most notably Paul Revere and the Raiders who not only starred on their own TV show ("Happenings". .an after school offering) but set a record with 720 TV appearances by a musical group. The Raiders put out great songs. They also inspired others. Original guitarist Drake Levin was one of Jimi Hendrix' guitar inspirations. Levin was credited for the "double tracking" technique. Around the same time , the band "LOVE" fronted by Arthur Lee had the op to be huge. In fact Epic Records, their label, wanted to push LOVE as a featured artist but Arthur Lee was paranoid about touring. He declined very lucrative gigs that involved flying. He also told Epic to pursue another band that was also playing the Sunset Strip in LA at the time. . .the DOORS. Epic took him up on the suggestion and invited the DOORS to NYC to record. Of course, the rest is history. Arthur Lee even lost his girlfriend, Pamela Courson, to Jim Morrison. Yet, as a body of work, I'd put LOVE ahead of the DOORS. As stated here, the album "Forever Changes" was. .and is. .a masterpiece. LOVE was no one hit wonder by a longshot. Obsevations: At 20:19 Don and Phil Everly are pictured on the far left and far right ends of the band Syndicate of Sound. Of course they were never members of that band. Perhaps the best known member of the STAWBERRY ALARM CLOCK was Ed King. King was one of the co writers of their signature hit "Incense and Peppermints" (which, according to ED he was cheated out of royalties). Ed King left Calif for GA and ended up joining Lynyrd Skynyrd after asking Ronnie Van Zant for consideration. He was a songwriter and guitar extraordinare best known for his iconic song, "Sweet Home Alabama". King left LS over a grueling tour schedule that burned him out. That move may have saved his life. Months later, LS's plane went down in a '77 crash that killed Ronnie Van Zant and 5 others. The TROGGS could have made this list. "Wild Thing" and "A Girl like You" were great songs but the TROGGS never gained the success they sought. Notice the number of Rickenbacker guitars featured in these bands. "Ricks" were made popular by the Beatles but mostly they were affordable. I wish I had purchased (and kept one.) The other instrument used that faded from popularity.. .saxophones. That era will never be repeated. It was wonderful.
