seriously well done man. I loved seeing that. I'm an AA enthusiast and was a Fitter/Turner 25 years ago..left the trade and have no machinery or anything but I love to watch this. would have liked to have then seen you then fit a scope and show us how she groups! Anyway once again, thanks for showing your deep skills!
Good video thanks but I totally disagree with set up for crowning the barrel. If you can't get the bore aligned with the machine axis then the only way that's nearly accurate is a 90° facing cut, from the bore outwards. Because you did a 45° chamfer, you can clearly see the runout, meaning one part of the pellet will have exited the barrel while another part is still in it, leading to the pellet coming out sideways. True the bore to the lathe axis in a 4 jaw chuck, then you can machine at an angle.
Completely agree with your disagree, it's Illustration purposes only, I would never dream of that crowning as a finished item. Critical work like that the camera is off for total concentration
Says in the description it's a spare Weihrauch barrel he had already. AFAIK the Weihrauch .20 barrels are often sourced to order from Lothar Walther and the quality of the builds often turns out better as all .20 are made to order. Connoisseur's choice 👍
zafka2 Yes you can such as Marauder, Daystate and Kalibrgun do. However it's harder to machine right and you have one chance only to get the transport hole and pellet probe seal perfect, if you don't bye bye barrel. I personally prefer using a brass insert. You have less chance of damaging the rifling when machining the TP and pellet probe and the rifling is perfect. Most manufacturers seem to use the brass inlet type.
Thanks for the answer. I was thinking about that, because I believe that inserting the pellet direct into the barrel is better ( no damaging the pellet). But since you're telling me that that if i don't get the transport hole or the pellet probe with the first trial then the barrel will go away, I will reconsider to do it. Thanks again.
were do you get those from I always use the H&N field target trophy or the JSB exacts .177 or .22 bad ass pellets you live in Europe or something like that

After turning down the OD between centers to be concentric with the ID, you sure seem to have a lot of runout here: th-cam.com/video/uIlk3Mqbo4Q/w-d-xo.htmlm7s

Is it possible to fit a new barrel on S510 without using a brass barrel insert?
