I've watched this series and this series isn't too much focussed on the scam part. They used this credit card scam concept as a base and made a story using it. So, this series actually doesn't help a lot in terms of awareness. It's rather an entertaining one than an awareness related one.

I once got a call saying that my atm card was blocked. I asked him which card as I have cards from multiple banks. He said any bank will do, we will reactivate it. I laughed at his desperation.
I should try & get Netflix passwords by this method. 🤩 Aapka Netflix account na! Ban hone wala hai! 😂

My friend got scammed. His payU app got crashed. When he contacted a person about it, he asked for his payU pin. He lost ₹1 lakh within the day.
The call was personal and was traced to Jamtara by SHO. The friend is himself a respectable lawyer but still got scammed.
I m sharing this story just to make a point that anyone can get scammed. We all should not laugh at others but we should rather spread awareness about it!

I remember there was an episode on this on Crime Patrol. Those guys actually scammed a top officer of cyber crimes department.

You might work only in one bank say for example SBI, but the scammer would normally say tell whichever bank number is available I will reactivate the account, they are part of world bank and are superior 😜
@@rajpradeep87 To be specific, He was saying, " Sir Is bank ki credit card scheme hai aur main wahi se call ker Raha hun, apke k credit card bill per itna discount ho jaega". Uske liye he was asking for my PAN and Adhar no. I told him, Credit card department sits next to me, let me verify this scheme of yours with them, then he hung up 😂

@@mildmixchintu1717 if it was a credit card fraud, and if haven't disclosed your card details willingly, then it is not a liability on you. I hope you lodged an FIR as soon as it happened, and reported it to the bank and the credit card company. Then you don't have to pay the bill as long as the credit is disputed. And in this case, customers are not responsible because credit card details are available on dark web.
I am from palamu, jharkhand my father told me that the case begins when a boy from jamtara went to work in Mumbai but at first he sold some golgappas then rickshaw pulling and then from natives he learned about paytm and oxygen wallet and figured out that only card number and CVV with expiry date and OTP is sufficient to withdraw money from a person's bank account. He returned to village and acted as a fake bank employee on call and robbed so many and committed the crime. Four years back my family also lost 1.5 lakhs rupees due to that

Whenever a credit card is newly issued to someone, the concerned bank tele executive shd call that client and educate him to be aware of these kind of fraudulent activities.

These types of cyber crimes can only be eliminated by spreading awareness about OTP and online banking . Although companies can create more secure payment gateway for end to end encryption between the bank and the customers .

Same here, when i refused to give details the lady started abusing me.
Shouldn’t there be a message for these scammers too in this documentary telling what their ordeal shall be when they get caught by the law??? instead of making them feel glorified in being successful to have committed such crime??.....I don’t see this made with a motive of a true documentary film instead some commercial short film shot aesthetically to make it look like a documentary(real) film!
Sabrish Menon as if these scammers dont know what happens when they get caught. They know fully the risks involved but the money is very lucrative. Its all worth it for them cause they are very poor and somewhat educated. Just look at those houses they made scamming people...they will happily go to jail...satisfied in their minds that they provided everything to their families which they never could have done their whole lives without scamming.
He did try to make them understand, but the scammer said everyone here is fighting for life here, no-one cares about anyone else... it's the struggle for life, it's upto you which path you choose...

This is one of the best indian web series that i have watched so far
It struck me today after seeing this trailer. I have a similar story.I had stopped my father from giving his otp to an unknown person and he was trying to take money from my father by faking to be a matrimonial site , for the registration. And top of that he was trying to guide my father for downloading a phone mirroring app and give him remote access to my fathers phone. I clearly remember telling my father to 1st block the no. and delete that app and to inform the bank to stop any type of transaction from his account for 15 days. I remember true caller showing the location as Jharkhand. This story is worth watching and it is true. Now you understand the value of your digital information that we so easily give thinking "what harm it can do to us".
Local police are responsible for this.. Without police support such big level of crime is impossible

I have lost count of how many times me and my family members have received such calls.. I rather enjoy confusing them .. I pretend that I am almost trapped and then I go ahead and give random made up details to them .. they think they scammed me🤣
And sometimes I pretend I am in police and I am tracing their number
Last time I received the call it was almost a week ago when an They called me on behalf of insurance company saying that his life insurance is still active and I can get 1 lac out of it..after 10 years of him dying and closing that policy. So I played along .. but this time I asked them for their details so called insurance agents and their ID cards and all .. man they got irritated 🤣
