Has anyone listened to metal and just BLASTED IT in your head phones and everyone looks at you
dragon Ball boi 09 I was listening to master of puppets and a kid asked me to turn down my death metal
Yes, ghost most of the time
That happened to me back in idk 6th and the Sub told me too just turn it off
A shadow that scared Geezer Butler = the birth of an entire freaking genre
Oh look! A free South Park episode
Without venom
There would be nothing
and without cavemen slamming their heads into the ground for music
there would be no raw black metal

@METAL4 LIFE True
Metal Heads don't hate Van Halen or Kiss. Eddie is literally the king in our eyes.
As is Ace Frehley
When I first listened to metal it felt like I was on a roller coaster travelling through time in speeds no man has ever reached, I loved it
Can’t take this seriously when you point to NWOBHM making metal “slicker and more radio friendly.” that first maiden record melts faces.
James McGill WALKIN THROUGH THE CITY, LOOKIN OH SO PRETTY, I JUST GOTTA FIND MY WAY
fucks me up every time
Yeah, if anything the NWOBHM were largely an underground kind of movement than a commercial one. The NWOBHM got the underground/DIY attitude from Punk but the sound from older bands like Sabbath, Priest and Deep Purple.
Joshua Ibarra I like to think of NWOBHM as the first combination of indie and metal. Especially with the raw lo fi sound of those records (except Def Leppard heh)
James McGill, NWOBHM was a combination of Punk and Metal, not Indie. Indie Rock came to be in the mid to late 80s.
aaaaah that mention of budgie made me happy!!
Jamie Jared They're the band that got me into metal, and that inspired Metallica. Love em

Seriously why is the metal fanbase so bad
I just found this in 2021 and enjoyed it immensely.
I feel sorry for Nu metal
Korn, Slipknot and Deftones saved my life :(
(But I agree that limp bizkit sucks anyway)
Limp Bizkit are THE GREATEST BAND OF ALL TIME
Well maybe not, but probably the most over-hated and underappreciated
Though they do still have a solid fanbase regardless
Slipknot has made nu metal songs but idk how they managed to get the nu metal genre into there songs it was barley evident slipknot is amazing and barley ever makes nu metal songs they did make a few and all where fucking amazing and they where not criticizing slipknot .
Slipknot's first 2 albums are great
@@chadthunder8362 spit it out is pretty nu metal
Slipknots first two albums are decent, korn only has a few kinda good songs, and deftones is far better than both of them
For me,the birth of metal were in 60s, with songs like you really got me,helter skelter, born to be wild......than 4 legendary British bands came and developed it furthermore which we know as traditional heavy metal, single bass drum with a hard rock and blues influence.
Traditional Heavy Metal aka TRUE Heavy Metal
What about progressive metal like dream theater?
and Tool aswell
The masters, Opeth
it never should've existed

Is Mötorhead a metal band?
@@beansgowellwithpoo9774 yes
A 1971 review in Creem of the 1970 album "Kingdom Come" by Sir Lord Baltimore was the first ever mention of "heavy metal" as a style of music. That album was so ahead of it's time. Most of it is full of insane heavy riffing, but there's even a harpsichord song that's like the Bohemian Rhapsody type neo-classical rock ballad aesthetic.
Do a brief history of punk rock!
I learned more from this than Wikipedia.
That's because this is correct, and wikipedia on metal is not.
Because it's brief
The wikipedia article is way more accurate than this video is.
It is. It's their first LP, demos and EPs aren't counted.
No word for Helloween, Accept nor even Scorpions? Sad for the German metal scene.
Ben Gagnon the scorpions are pop rock
Bruh you left out Rammstein
I'm more surprised, that Sodom wasn't mentioned.
Ben Gagnon scorpions are not fucking metallll!!! ;)
