Seve learnt to play golf on a beach. He was an absolute genius. His vision, imagination and bravery made him unique in the game. He was and still is an inspiration to me. He played at the official opening of my home course ; Moyola Park GC in northern Ireland in 1981, and watching him was incredible. He'd hit high, low, fade, draw, off his knees, left handed effortlessly. Great memories of a great man. RIP Seve!!
I'm looking at a freeze frame at 0:29. Seve is gesturing with his right hand to show what you must do to keep the club face open beyond impact. Just look at the gentle way he holds his hand to illustrate. That gesture tells you more than anything else I've seen or heard about how to release the club and how much touch you should strive for. He is the greatest master of the short game.
I was searching for a long time to find really good and understandable golf tips ! And finally i find really good channel with perfect couch like Seve :) Thanks for adding such a good video !
Excellent for a stock bunker shot! In this case he has a longer distance and not much height difference between the putting surface and the green... Another technique for long greenside bunker shots would be the chunk and run when you de-loft the club or even go to a PW or 9i etc. and just look to get the ball out and rolling as soon as possible - with much less air time. This type of shot won't have spin so it will roll out.
"Less 'hind" @2:33/0:29:11on th video..is more in front, hey Seve?.. i Love how he can show a square, closed and open clubface when he has just stopped his swing! Master!
Good Morning, I am writing a book targeting Golfers who are trying to improve their scores to 90. I would like to include the link to this video in the book. To whom may I make the request? Thank you
I once read an instructor statement: "any person who is able to hit a ball 100 yards can play golf". So don´t be discouraged, you can play golf after all --provided you hit it straight !
geansai333 it's a different kind of release. Rather than turning the for over like a regular shot, you slide the hands underneath it to keep the loft on the shot
He kept saying Don't Rotate. This is a release that doesn't close down the face, the lack of which is why so many either leave it in the Bunker, or only get halfway to the Hole at their best.
Hands down the best video on TH-cam for the standard bunker shot. Video’d nearly 40 years ago but no-one has improved on this technique.

Great teacher.
Makes it's look so simple. 👍
Wow Seve is real good at bunker shots.

Very nice video
Thanks for posting it
Long live Seve!
Master Thank You Seve !!
Was he using a sandwedge or a 60° here in the bunker?
I believe it was a 56deg sand wedge. Seve never used a log wedge. He didn’t need to 😊
he wore Boss. how apt!
Golden Bear was already taken. 😏

Short Game Master! Thank you Seve!
What a legend
Think golfers will watch Seve's vid 100 years from now.
I think so man
genius.
That man could get out of a bunker with a literal butter knife
3:55 the entire lesson, put together, seve, is truly a "can do it guy" vs teach it. lol
Never realized how much Andy Kaufmans alter ego sounded like Seve
If Rommel was this good in sand he'd have beat Monty in Africa :-)
We all love you Seve...
RIP amigo
Master
Seve sounds if you were taking a lesson he'd smack you if you didn't pay attention.
Sounds simple
I love it, but the problem is that Seve was a golfing genius, whereas I have hands of concrete.

he says don't release... then he says release.. Otherwise, this is gold.

Who said golf wasn’t rocket science?
The loving saturday conversely hug because cartoon cytologically succeed round a nosy panther. volatile, unwieldy wilderness
Thats a lot of information he's going through, a little too much to stay focused.
