Do you still have your Firefly X? They've released a few FW updates and I think it has improved a bit. I'd be keen to see vs the Akaso since they're close in price. Shame Firefly is harder to get here in Canada as they're one of the few brands I know that does routine FW updates. Most recent fw is oct 2021.

My computer has 4K screen and 100% RGB color accuracy.. The Brave 8 was blown out (over exposed) in many cases and appeared to be blurred and not as sharp as the V40 (the steps on the Brave 8 is a blurred mess and appears to be out of focus at all distances).. V40 captures more detail and has better color accuracy, and better dynamic range, sometimes appeared to be dark but +1/3-1EV would match the Brave 8 exposure.. The Brave 8 has way too much red and the V40 a slight too much green (overall the V40 is better).. Both camera's would benefit from a gimbal (even a cheap one), and both are similar with stabilization - no clear winner.. Sound appears to be very close for both.. My evaluation is the V40 smoked the Brave 8 at 1/2 the price.. For the money you can buy a gimbal and need only to tweak the EV at tad with the V40 and have a much better experience with the V40 overall..

Great comparison review like usual, V40 definately looks alot sharper than the Akaso, a lot more detail showing up but washed out colour except in the shadows in the 1080p 60fps test.

I don't own either of these cameras. I watched the entire review of these two camera's. I think Campark V40 in daylight recordings has much sharper video and better details, the Akaso Brave looks very washout and not very detailed. This is just my personal opinion after watching your review.

I'm wondering why there is still no camera around 200€ available that works for mtb downhill.
I don't need 4k and all features that gopro offers with the 9 and 10. The 8 is great but I like the wider view angle on the 7 more and the stabilisation on the 7 is absolutely perfect. Sadly the sound is not so good and they still cost 260€.
There are good and cheaper cameras available which make good footage for holiday filming. Walking arround, filming flowers and the landscape ... but in my eyes, useless for mtb downhill. Everything starts with the narrow stabilised view angel, the stabilisation itself and the sound. Also the quick switches between low light and bright light in the forrest and the fact that the camera is moving fast.
I didn't find a camera cheaper than the 7 that is able to do that .

DON'T BUY CAMPARK is my advice.
I loved my V40 until the battery connector fell out in the battery compartment after 5 months. In spite of Campark saying that there is a 12 month warranty, it turns out that you have to pay £70 return postage to have the faulty camera replaced if it is more than 3 months after purchase. As it would on have cost me £7 to send the camera to be repaired or replaced it isnobvious that Campark are charging users the trade price for a new camera meaning that the last 9 months of the warrantee is worthless.
With the initial purchase price plus postage for the replacement ai would have anded up paying around £180 for a £100 camera that would be worthless if it failed again.
