I remember back in the 90s, a Video Game magazine in Germany(Power Play) rated Golden Axe with a 90%, but Alien Storm only got a 78%. I loved Golden Axe, be it part 1, 2 or the also excelent 3rd one. Alien Storm is similar to Golden Axe, in a time when you mostly had typical Final Fight Fist Brawlers it was refreshing swinging Swords in Golden Axe, or Electric Guns and Flame Throwers in Alien Storm. I loved Alien Storm on the Sega Mega Drive. Later on after the 2000s with the help of a PC and an early Mame emulator I could finally play all the Arcade games like Alien Storm. Great game, and a great lets play!

Part of the holy trinity of Sega beat'em ups, Gold Axe, Streets of Rage, and Alien Storm. Notice how every female character is fire themed. "Blaze" Fielding, Tyris Flare, with fire magic and this lady with a flame thrower.
I thought this wasn't real when I played it when I was like 3. It's real! I was thinking, the golden axe with guns! The jumping attack was cool. I wish they made side scrolling games with that move.

Yeah, the tunnel path in this video is the shortest route to the last boss. If you take the other tunnels, there are extra rooms in between with lots of enemies.

Not the only one. In Genesis version even normal attacks drain power, so you are constantly low on energy, even with the lowest power consumption option. It really pisses off.
@ShardDeVir Didn't that mean you were meant to abuse dash attacks to conserve meter, though? And lean on basic attacks for their splash damage when you knew how to plan for the stage?
