I think some parents did not pay attention to their children's' emotions.
Elijah Halliburton 2022 The children were too young to actually communicate but it should be obvious from their faces that they experienced abuse.

Dr. Gabor Mate and Dr Shevali Tsabary are two child advocates that I recommend all parents listen to and follow their teachings/findings. They can even be found here on TH-cam, which I highly recommend watching. If all parents took just a LITTLE more initiative with their own children, we wouldn't see half of the issues we have in society today.
If your child kicks, screams, and cries, refusing to go to daycare, MAYBE, it’s time to find a new daycare! Glad they were found safe!
I worked at a daycare and we had some kids scream kick and cry when there was nothing wrong with the teachers. They simply wanted their mom, and there is nothing wrong with that. The parent would leave and the child would go play with their friends, eat their snacks, go to recess, nap and keep playing. Kids want mom and dad, but when they are saying things like begging to not be put in a basement, they comes home consistently with a dirty diaper or rash then its time for a new daycare. Some kids transition to daycare REALLY well and I promise you there are the handful that don't. Of course I'm talking about pretty young kids. If your 9 year old is crying and begging there is probably something more going on whether it has to do with the daycare or the child themself.
You are absolutely right that is the first sign that the children are being missed treated well ask the moms how long when they get home they're on their cell phones these poor little children
Nah, I had a daycare. I had one who’d scream at drop off and pick up. She just didn’t handle transitions well.
More like ask why they're behaving that way first. Some kids just throw tantrums.
Not just that, it’s time to have them fully addressed and treated accordingly. These children are gonna have some serious traumatic experiences.
When my son didn't want to go to daycare, it was enough for me not to push. Found another place he's happy to go. It's as simple as that. Listen to your children.
tried in 1960 1980???
My daughter didn’t want to go to daycare so I requested with management to be able to check on her by seeing the live video in the classroom during open hours. Teachers were unaware. Looked to me like the teachers were neglecting my daughter all day. They only interacted with her to change her and give her a snack but otherwise no interaction. I took her out immediately and notified management.

@esther fisher the teachers who worked at the pre-school weren't associated with any child abuse and/or neglect. the criminals just owned the school, and didn't work with any of the kids there, just at the daycare. the children at the daycare were mistreated, not the other preschool students. i couldn't imagine being taken away from kids that you've been teaching and raising, when you're an innocent person. :(
@esther fisher Why are you reading so much into his comment? He's just saying he misses the kids he used to care for and you have to write a book? It's not that complicated.
@esther fisher A pizza party? Really? You really believe that the teachers work to have pizza parties? It seems like that's what you're assuming. Can't they just care about their kids? Sure, the toddlers are safe and all, great. But it's not immature to miss the kids you were teaching and watching grow, especially when the school you were teaching at didn't do anything wrong other than having a deplorable owner. It's kinda sad and makes me think that you only cared about that pizza party yourself when you were teaching since that's what you're assuming they're missing so much.
I hate when day care workers say “my kids”. They’re NOT your kids.

Never put your child in the care of others if they dont allow you to stay for a settling in period or visit and allow you to come inside.
Oh, if we ever need it, I fully intend to do surprise drop-ins!
What’s interesting is that there are rules about this kind of thing that many parents aren’t aware of. I work at a large Early Childhood Center in Chicago, IL and DCFS licensing makes it a rule that parents can stop by the school whenever they want. Many providers take advantage of parents not knowing the licensing regulations for home based care and childcare centers! I try to empower my families with this knowledge whenever possible, lest they be taken advantage of!
Parents should always do unannounced "drop in" visits to see their kids in daycare. Some centers say that do not allow unannounced visits. Those are the places that especially need to be visited!

Didn’t they notice a change in their child when they pick them up like they were dehydrated sweating soiled diapers these parents aren’t even paying attention to those children after their being neglected and abuse
I totally agree
ABD THAT.. is how the police were tipped off. THe video did briefly describe at least one witness account where the kid complained to "mommy" that he/she didn't want to go "down into the basement of that house again"
Both sides, the parents AND the daycare owners were enabling each other to abuse the kids. Those parents were not blind.
@Babba Ganoush Obviously she "serves" some higher purpose in the community. It's sickening what "some" people get away with just because they have dirt on people in high places.
A. B.D. They’re not telling anyone the whole story.
This is why you listen to your kids. Last year my son went to a daycare his father picked out. I had bad vibes from the first meeting. Yes the house was clean and orderly but something was off. After a few days my son was so low energy and sad. I went to drop him off he would cry saying he didn't want to go to sleep. I went to drop him off late one day and she didn't open the door, my son kept pulling on me "let's get in the car mama" so I took him to his old babysitter for the day. I got to the old babysitter and took him out the car and he went running to the door knocking on it and calling her name. Even though I didn't know what was going on at the new babysitter that confirmed that it wasn't good. Then of course my son's father was like "oh you just didn't want to give her a chance. "
First off I don't have to give anyone a chance when it comes to my kid. He was only under the new babysitters care for 2 weeks but his whole demeanor was off, as far as I'm concerned that was 2 weeks to long.
Do you know what happened
@@kudousawoke4468 no and I really don't want to find out. I think at the very least she was putting the kids to sleep all day. I also thought back on the fact there were no toys in the daycare but she had a room on the side that had toys up to the ceiling.

Lynnette Henderson, what parents? This is a coverup of a pedophile racket with patsy scapegoats
That's what I was thinking. There is definitely more to this story then what was said in this news report.
Actually, young children dehydrate very quickly.. so with not being offered food or water all day, on top of crying all day being neglected, it’s absolutely possible. The parents had nothing to do with this.
So when the parents got their kids back, sweating, tired, and dehydrated, they weren't concerned at all? When their kids got upset at being taken to a place that abused them, they just brushed it off?
Something is missing here and the parents should be investigated too.
Also, what did they make these kids do that made them so hot and dehydrated? Like, wtf?
Am I the only one here that thinks there's more layers to this story?
I agree! Parents looked nice! Must be working too much and don’t notice! Yep... I said it!
A point I don't see anyone make is that children were kept in a hidden basement. If a parent dropped off their child, at the very least seeing no other children at a "daycare" would tip them off. I doubt they would wait for all 26 kids to arrive to seal them off, especially in a house like that, interiors in homes like that don't usually have wide open living rooms like more modern ones do. I think some if not all the parents actually knew something was going on and had a benefit from it.
I suspect child trafficking, parents involved
Absolutely, I do too!
I’m sure the women changed diapers and cleaned the kids up before giving them back but I also agree - super weird that the parents didn’t take their kids seriously.

I would show up unannounced to my daughter's day care just to check on her
That’s EXACTLY what I did once to find my son still in a crib with a dirty diaper when he was a baby hours after I had dropped him off. I NEVER went back there and reported them. Little ones can’t speak, so you have to be proactive even when it’s difficult with work schedules. You have to keep your priorities straight with family first and I know that’s very difficult for single parents, but you MUST with child abuse and trafficking SO PREVALENT!
I used to do the same with both my sons. My older boy started telling me about another child who would run around hitting the other kids (including him) and that the daycare teachers wouldn't do anything about it. So I arranged to drop by, and I saw what was going on, had a discussion with the gal running the daycare, and when I wasn't satisfied with the response, I removed my son and put him in a different (better) place. The thing is, it was really good up until that point, but sometimes things change, and as a parent, you might not see the changes if you get into a habit of dropping off and picking up. @@callmecarmella So you would rather go with no home and no way to feed your child? I never said that leaving your kids with people like this was a good idea. But, as I stated some people don’t have a choice. Some parents are single parents and have NOONE to watch their kids. Should they listen to their kids, ABSOLUTELY!! Should they do everything in their power to find someone else for their child’s safety, ABSOLUTELY!! But again, some parents don’t have that choice. And I choose food for my child and a roof for my child first.
Your child isn’t safe on a park bench either.
@@callmecarmella And as seen in the video, the parents actually DID do something by calling and having them investigated. But I also I will not sit here quiet and let someone treat others like a bad parent because they have no other option. They don’t “choose their job over their kids.” They “CHOOSE” to make sure their child has what they need. Some don’t have the option to “scale back on their lifestyle”. For reasons like this I became a stay at home mom. My son couldn’t talk yet. Did not want to stay and cried every-time I left him. Decided no amount of money was worth my child crying. May God bless all the parents who have to work to make ends meet and the children’s who have to stay at daycare.
Unfortunately not many people have this option. Many of us are the breadwinners in our family. If we don’t work, they don’t eat.
I’m so glad you are economically stable enough to be able to do that, you go girl! Love to see stay at home mums talking about their experiences.
Not many people pray to be in line with proper order: homeschooling your children! You will suffer and lose your children at the expense of what?
How sad... We find out “after the fact” ... my heart goes out to these children...
You can’t trust anyone with your children even your own family members
You just go by your instincts, you know as a parent who you can, and cannot trust with your own children. I had amazing loving friends who were great with my kids. And family who helped me , that love my kids and treats them well. Now I work from home. And take care of my kids without the help of a sitter, plus it helps they are older now. I'd say just go by your own judgment, i don't trust daycares, and Im super picky who's around my kids, even with them being older, i dont just have anyone around my kids.
@@silviahammond6405 My sister started her own daycare because she didn't want to leave her kids with strangers.

I never trust not a single daycare in this whole world. I rather pay my son's grandmother the mother of my ex to take care of my son. I trust her alot and she loves ,spoils and treats my son really nice. My son always wants to go with his grandmother everywhere ❤
@S R life isn't like the old days. Sometimes both parents work. Hence they need someone to look after their kid. Not every woman is a stat at home mom anymore and can't even afford it but would love to still have their child. And eventually the child will be able to stay home alone and grow into an adult.
I'm still young but i also worry about how I will be able to raise a child. It's just not that easy for everyone. Additionally, there are some advantages to daycares. Some of them teach your children well and get them to socialize with other children. Still it's important to listen to your child and see how they react. Hopefully if I am able to spend most of my time with my kid i will.
Glad my grandma didn't watch me. Some grandparents are abusive also.
of course, trust no one in life , that'll work
Not everyone has that option. Some need daycare. U have to trust your own instincts and be super observant but even then sadly some sickos are just too good. Not saying this lady is one of them. But tragedies happen, we can’t blame anyone except the perpetrator.
@S R I agree with you, I think the mom can stay home taking care of the child while the father works but both father and mother have to work together to raise the child. Both father and mother have to work to pay the mortgage, or the rent the Bill's, etc and they leave their child with grandparents which is ok as long as the grandparents are not bad grandparents and take good care of their grandsons or granddaughters
The first and only time I left my daughters at daycare, I was nervous the entire morning. I remember going on my lunch hour to check on my babies. As I was walking close to the window, I heard someone say “you better sit here and don’t move” and then I heard my youngest daughter cry. I started banging on that door hard that made my knuckles bled a little. When the babysitter opened the door, she looked at me in shock. I pushed her aside and took my babies. Back then there were no cellphones, so I drove home called the cops and filed a police report against her. I had just started my new job and it was my first day. I didn’t go back. As hard as it may sound, I started looking for jobs that allowed me to take my daughters with me. I was fortunate to land a job from home that paid really well and eventually I opened my own business. I’m now a grandmother and helped my eldest daughter and son in-law to start their own business so this way my grandchildren would be home with their mommy.
What that doesn’t real to me it’s sounds like a movie and that’s plus why did you push the door without know what happens and plus if you did tell us the back story
@@kudousawoke4468 my two daughters were 2 and 5. The one that started crying and was told to sit and not move was the 2year old. Do you think I was going to ask questions at that moment, when I clearly heard the woman yell at the top of her lungs “you better sit here and don’t move”? she was a grown woman yelling like that to a 2 year old that she was babysitting. The woman was watching a movie and my daughter was banging on a toy and she got upset, per what my oldest daughter said. Who by the way was sitting on the floor on the side of the couch sobbing. When my son first started preschool, I stayed with him. I planned to stay a few days, till he got used to it, then leave. I was so overprotective. My son was fine, but another child would cling to me and cry. When his parent dropped him off. I would carry him and talk to him until he stopped crying. Most of the other parents thought he was my child and was shocked when they found out who my son was. I ended up being hired. I cried the first day my son started kindergarten. When I picked him up, he told me I embarrassed him because his classmates saw me crying. After that, he wouldn’t allow me to walk him to school. 😂

Overall, America does a good job protecting children. However, every once in a while, we hear stories like this. And the reason why is because we assume all women will be nurturing towards children to the same degree that we assume all men are suspect until proven otherwise.
And that is just a woefully wrong assumption.
And we can't assume other people will love our kids. They dont.
I can honestly say that America is actually quite bad at protecting kids. We're decent in some aspects, but the problem is: nobody believes kids, and most of the time, they don't want to. I've been close within the system for some time and a lot of well-meaning people will easily believe that kids are being taken care of and protected, because it's easier and safer to believe than the harsh reality.
Parents start listening to your children and pay attention to their body language. It’s all there all you got to do is listen and watch!
20 years ago when my children were young, my husband and I had 1 car, we had a strict budget, we had no additional spending, and he worked 12 hours a day...I changed every diaper, did all the feedings and did all the cleaning and shopping so my husband could rest and sleep...we never put our children in daycare. This kind of stuff happens more often than people think. The owner of the daycare we went to would constantly lie to my mom about things I was doing so I would work for her for free(I was never allowed to play with the other kids, and always had a list of chores to do when I got to the daycare after school). She would also hide kids in the garage when social services was there(My sister was forced to lay on the floor in a van). I was so scared to say something because I thought no one would believe me, because they didn't believe me when my version of what happened didn't match up with hers. She would force me to eat(After 15 years I am just now getting back to a healthy weight) get other kids to make fun of me, she wouldn't let me use the bathroom if I had to do anything other than pee, and punished me if I talked to other parents when I helped them pack up their kids because I always said the wrong thing. (I think one mother kind of knew I was being mistreated, and would sometimes slip me money). Years later whe I joking about my trauma (I'm really bad at talking about most of my childhood without turning it into a joke) and my mom was like, "Why didn't you tell me?". I don't have the heart to tell her that her actions and reactions in my childhood made me fearful and scared, so I just dealt with it and pretended to be happy. As a kid she had that old fashioned model of parenting where kids don't have much of a voice, and in some ways she has changed, and in other ways it's still the same. Now, whenever I'm struggeling with somethng or battleing depression I often get reminded of how happy I usually am, and how it will come to pass, so I have had to learn how to deal wth a lot of these things on my own, and with my sister. We didn't realize how abusive our childhood was until we became adult and made friend's with people who had normal childhoods. We would be talking about something, joking about it, and people would loo at us like, "Hey, are you okay?" Listen to your kids. Look out for the kids that aren't "your kids". Treat them with respect. Just because someone is an adult doesn't mean their voice is more valid than a child's. As a teacher, I try to go into each day remebering how my life could have been diferent if someone had just noticed, or taken my small pleads here and there more seriously.
