THAT is a man. Took a kid from an abusive family, and prevented the kid’s newborn sister from having the same thing happening to her. I have nothing but respect for this man.
I was a foster at 2 and a half. Foster home to foster home with my older brother until I found my final family. The agency split my brother and I up after being together through this the whole time in just 6 months. They took me first but the court was upset they split my brother and I up so they went to my foster parents and said my brother needs a home and they agreed to keep us together. My guardians wanted a sibling group because they had space. I’m now 24 and my brother is almost 30. I still see my biological parents. I feel like my guardians are my saviors. I now have 4 brothers, one biological and 3 from the guardians.
I wish you the best in life. That kind of upbringing tends to leave the most important ingredient for life out - love. I hope you have it in its truest form. Everyone deserves it. Not everyone gets it. I am still looking for it.
As a former child of abuse and foster kid. You saved their lives. They may have lived to be 80 without you but what kind of life would that 80 years entail. Your family is a godsend. Bless y’all

Often abused kids are always afraid of their abusers... Sometimes for the rest of their life. They don't understand until later that the abuser(s) being in jail means that they won't be coming back to punish the child.
Kids being treated this way right this moment. Locked in, starving, beating right this moment. It's sickening to think about and I wish every kid could be saved from this horror.
I love that he expresses that there is of course some difficulty with adopting such a traumatized child. Too many people try to play up how beautiful adoption is in order to get more people to do it. But I think having realistic expectations and recognizing difficulties is way more beneficial to helping to encourage others to adopt.

My mother would have said that by doing this, that cop added stars to his crown. Anyone else heard that? It's great that his family also went and picked up the boy's baby sister. It's amazing that his family went from two children to five children almost overnight.
It's beautiful when adoptive parents are able to keep siblings together. I had a manager whose son was adopted. When their son was a few years old they got a call that the biological mother was having another baby and she wanted to give them the option to adopt him as well, they did.
I think they saved each other from years of future PTSD. If that cop didn't take that kid home, his dreams would have never let him forget it. People need 💤!! It's hard to live without it sanely, safely... know what I mean? Anyone?
He looks just like his daddy now! Good job officer! My husband is a 15 year officer and worked bad cases. When I see these stories, after hiring for the victims and their loved ones, my heart breaks for all the first responders and the many support staff and their families and friends. I’ve seen the heartbreak.

Yes ma’am, that’s the truth but what touched me the most was “when the officer said he couldn’t get the boy out of hid mind”. I knew he was different, they are trained to move on but his heart didn’t allow him to move along. Thank God for parents like him and his wife and for raising exceptional children to accept and love as their own sibling is so beautiful 😍.

He even looks like his daddy, he's where he's meant to be. Both of them are. I just ended my time as a foster mama, it wasn't something I planned to do but its how it went, now I have shared custody of my foster son and his younger siblings all went home and are doing well, luckily mom and dad weren't like this, nothing close to this they just needed guidance.
