Everyone has to face reality. Water is a basic need for our very existence. Those in developing countries, the hope of future prosperity. Their access to clean water has a long way to go. We've recently seen a flash of inflation. The strain on this supply could send prices on everything skyrocketing. I lived in the western US, Colorado, for 24 yrs. Water supply comes from the Rockies. A large amount of the SDS is sent to other western states. As with Colorado, drought in the west results in terrible forest fires. Living in the midwest for 39 yrs. I hadn't experienced fire there. When you see it up close it is scary.
Everybody can create water storage tanks in their houses as is very common in Africa (especially where I am from in Somalia) People have over the roof and underground storage tanks to store rain water
So if they privatize water, who is responsible for toxic water that kills us? Example forever chemicals. If they sell water to drink or put in our food systems and they knew it had these chemicals, someone has to be responsible and fined.
These people create all kinds of disruptions on the earth. So people didn’t appreciate water until a dollar value was out on it?! I’m am so tired of these stupid stupid greedy people having control of things that affect peoples lives.
I find it a bit sickly that the finance people somehow keep equating what they are doing with being good for humanity, after the obvious instant reply of PROFITS... Kind of like saying, we will save you but you need to pay us millions for it and if you are poor and can't keep up with the fluctuating market then you can go without. Yes, we have to value water as the most precious resource we have but how do we prevent exploitation and ensure access to all when it's completely monitised? This is very concerning.
People tend to appreciate things more if they pay for it. Water waste is a crime. We do not need to wash our cars every weekend or have a swimming pool. Water should also be allocated to need and certain water intense industries need to be limited and managed better to avoid waste. But I'm no expert.
If we changed the way we farm and how we consume it would be a huge step. 2025 - if it doesn't feed, clothe, shelter or water you then don't buy it. Let it rot.

@@darrellvice2010probably relating it to the statement of the Waterfind CEO, that if a very valuable resource like water gets taxed, we'd be more inclined to conserve its usage.
Great documentary. Anyone with a brain will say water is a human right. However, I think one key point missed here is there has to be a way to incentivize farmers to move towards products that are less water intensive to conserve the resources already there... Raising cattle in one of the most arid places on Earth is arguably one of the biggest ways possible to waste water. Raising cattle for beef requires something insane like 15k-20k liters of water PER KILOGRAM. Pricing cattle farmers accordingly is an effective, albeit cruel way of reining that in. But there has to be some kind of mechanism in place to cut back on wasteful usage.
To make matters worse, the rise of AI technology will put even further strain on global water & energy supplies. Ofc economic growth is tied to population growth & we simply can not tolerate declining birth rates can we? Especially with several countries carrying massive debts & depending on stock price appreciation to keep pension funds solvent... Meanwhile, there are ppl in poor countries around the world dying of thirst while American homeowners complain about dry patches on their lawn. Also, due to the lax regulations in the US, harmful chemicals, plastics & metals are constantly being dumped into the environment & ending up in the water supply. Our current way of life is unsustainable.

Because its very expensive to build and maintain desalination plant. Its not financially viable to provide this service and earn a profit until the demand is there. Also itd just pose ecological strain with the ocean.
It is not finanially feasible because it is not very prevalent. Once all the major sources of drinking water are exhausted and global warming caused less rain and snow, then all nations will turn to desalination. The sooner we start, the more prepared we will be. It is an intensly energy consuming technology but if we invest in sun and wind energies the cost will go down and over time it will become feasible. @@jimmyjonestodd2556
Everybody can create water storage tanks in their houses as is very common in Africa (especially where I am from in Somalia)
People have over the roof and underground storage tanks to store rain water
In many areas of the United States it's illegal.
No diamonds aren’t free, but then again I don’t need them to survive either.

Then dirt

So if they privatize water, who is responsible for toxic water that kills us? Example forever chemicals. If they sell water to drink or put in our food systems and they knew it had these chemicals, someone has to be responsible and fined.
I wonder when we'll have air markets
Already do.
@sharaudramey9336 How so?
No sensible society would let companies like nestle feel comfortable doing what they do
Water is essential for all life, not a commodity to put a price on.
Our species is cooked if we don't put the brakes on this system
These people create all kinds of disruptions on the earth. So people didn’t appreciate water until a dollar value was out on it?! I’m am so tired of these stupid stupid greedy people having control of things that affect peoples lives.
The action of selling what is meant for all is stealing from the rest of us that need in favor of those that don't.
The only reason breathable air hasn't been privatised is because there's no machine that can isolate air and make it exclusive
They’re gonna make a large vacuum for that
Doesn't mean we don't already pay for clean air because we do.
You sheep want it to happen so badly, shut the fuck up
Ok but we're completely ignoring the fact that privatized farming is another huge issue here
I just bought all of the sea 🌊! Now y'all have to pay me each time y'all swim 🏊♀️ in it. 😎
Even if i dug my own well theyd find a way to force me to use or pay for their water via some BS local law made up blatantly just for that purpose.
People tend to appreciate things more if they pay for it. Water waste is a crime. We do not need to wash our cars every weekend or have a swimming pool. Water should also be allocated to need and certain water intense industries need to be limited and managed better to avoid waste. But I'm no expert.
To a certain degree, I agree with your opinion. Just look at our plastic consumption, it destroys water purity.
If we changed the way we farm and how we consume it would be a huge step.
2025 - if it doesn't feed, clothe, shelter or water you then don't buy it. Let it rot.
Why is it people think it is good to allow corporations to take over
Brilliant documentary about a real serious threat. These finance vultures must and will be stopped, they can't carry on with this insanity indefinately.
It’s not created or destroyed. The representative body of the people should manage it. People have a right to some but no one has a right to it all
Bullshit im 50 and growing up in north Philly everybody's parents scolded us about not only long showers but running that hot water too long and god forbid you leave a faucet dripping there would be hell to pay.! We didn't play with our parents water bill or any other bill
What is your point?
@@darrellvice2010probably relating it to the statement of the Waterfind CEO, that if a very valuable resource like water gets taxed, we'd be more inclined to conserve its usage.
Isn't it great that we weren't so stupid. 🏴💚🌍💚.

12:30 min I don't know if it's winter time over there it's just cold or change of seasons but all the trees behind him are dead
Comparing rain to diamonds, which have to be mined and processed, is a really stupid take.
Let's US-healthcare-ify water, what could go wrong?
Its a rort .
I dug a small dam in the end to save my own water.
The local shire council now sends my a yearly fee I have to pay for my own dam.
So they're one big criminal cartel.
I paid for the small dam construction.
And they're charging me for the right to have it.
That was the final straw, we sold up.
Today water is being privatised. Tomorrow it will be the air you breathe.
Just because it's life, doesn't mean it can't be priced. ''a-hole of the century''
You have to take control of your and your family's financial future. Learn how to invest, read financial charts and reports. Trusting things to just "be okay" with someone else in charge is irresponsible
The largest user of fresh water is agricultural irrigation. This company uses technology to use less water with technology. UpTerra is the answer to saving water.
When GS says privatization, they mean total control by them backed by govt law and force.
Bottled Water is Privatization of Water 😮
You shouldn’t be charged for something you would die without. This is evil water is something we require or we die. You’re not going to charge me money for it.

what is needed is the access to the capital markets by the farmers to be able to hedge their production costs
The naivety of people in these comments genuinely blows my mind.
that guy that owns the water trading company is so proud of himself and he's not even doing anything lmao. I like how he refers to himself as a pioneer when he is just selling something that is required for life and you just pull from the ground lmao. Also swimming pools need to go.
In the 70s in third grade and on we were told about this.
I’m and have always been for capitalism as far as economic theories go but there is no possible reason or justification that could make this idea even remotely okay.
we must look at the banker's eyes, especially at the 39,58 minute, "it is not because it is life that it cannot be priced"... he is right, it has been the case for slaves, for human labor and now for cells and DNA. But his expression is revealing how as humans we should be afraid because the market of nature is well developed, notably relying on the false flag of the climate change... the measures taken will solve nothing but allow an overall capture of the the resources, not only water. but human beings.. it is going on now.
That would go nicely in my portfolio with my fresh air mine. 😂
"yOU pAy FoR HeAltHCaRe". Yeah we shouldnt have to.
