That seals the deal. I am no longer a Seattle Kraken fan. I've been a season ticket holder since 2021 and have never been this disappointed. I'm moving my fandom to the Carolina Panthers where they know how to run a hockey team.
Hey, the Seattle Kraken made it to there first Stanley Cup play-off in 2023, and even defeated the defending champions Colorado Avalanche in 1st round AND pushed the Dallas Stars to a full 7 game series. All in all the franchise moves on stronger then what many expected from them this early on in there short & recent history in the NHL.
Hearing Tanev picked broke my heart. Outside of the big three Tanev was by far my favorite player. Loved the energy he brought to the team. Hope he does well in Seattle

As a Seattle sports fan, I'm so anxious to have another sports team to root for alongside the Mariners and Seahawks. The one thing missing now is for the NBA to expand and bring back the Supersonics. I look forward to the Kraken's awakening on October 12.

As a WHL (Everett Silvertips) fan in the Seattle area, I really appreciate these insights into our new NHL team, because I'm absolutely clueless when it comes to NHL at the moment. Happy to hear the criticisms as long as they're backed up with some other info, so this was refreshing - all I've heard so far is "this player not as good as that player, bad pick".
Jet set a couple years later. Looking back Seattle did the exact opposite of Vegas. Funny how Frank Severalli got to keep his job but Jeff Mrazek (last years draft) didn't. Even to this day as a Flyers fan I'm facepalming Seattle and saying "Shayne Gostisbehere was right there, and who the hell is Carsen Twarynski?". "Don sko wee" gets me to this day as well.

Everyone has high hopes for the Kraken's draft because of how Vegas did. I don't even think the Penguins expected Fleury to have a second wind like he did in Vegas.
I'm new to Hockey. I just started watching this year. I don't really have a favorite team, so, I think with both myself and the Kraken being new to hockey, I will cheer for them. My buddy also did a lot of the welding in their new stadium. And I grew up in a neighboring state so it works out.
Even with Price staying put, the Canadiens are in a tough spot now that they're going back to the Atlantic. The Lightning and Panthers aren't going anywhere for a few years so they gotta pray for Boston and/or Toronto to collapse.
I was concerned for my new team but thank you Tree for easing my conscious over their picks. The cap space is having me think that Francis is going big on the offensive side down the road. Do I think this team has what it takes to win the cup? Nope. But they should be fun to watch! Let’s go Kraken!

I'm new to Hockey. I just started watching this year. I don't really have a favorite team, so, I think with both myself and the Kraken being new to hockey, I will cheer for them. My buddy also did a lot of the welding in their new stadium. And I grew up in a neighboring state so it works out.
Even with Price staying put, the Canadiens are in a tough spot now that they're going back to the Atlantic. The Lightning and Panthers aren't going anywhere for a few years so they gotta pray for Boston and/or Toronto to collapse.
Boston has an aging core and The Leafs... well, they're amazing regular season performers, so that's a problem.
