Loved it when I read it and yes there were tears. One of my favorite stories when I was a very young child was “The Little Red Hen” - I guess the theme carried through the decades. The cover art is beautiful.

I had never heard of this -just spotted it in a second-hand book shop. Such a lovely read. It’s definitely a book I am going to keep.
