I think this video is really interesting because its true, I mean when someone tells a story and keeps telling unimportant details it gets boring but when someone tells a story fast changing the voice tone it gets funnier and quicker
Thank you, I am not a writer by any means, but I found your video very straight to the point with great examples and I feel like I got a really huge idea of what is like storytelling and I am planning to apply your advice to my next video.
Another great tip is to tell the story in such a way that the end in not know and walk the listener step by step only telling him/her what you knew at the time. Interesting exercise I’ll try it.
This made me realize a lot of things. I have a lot to work on.. Being a teacher.. Story telling skills are extremely important for me. Thank you so much for the video!
00:00 📖 Storytelling isn't just for authors-it's a valuable skill applicable across various fields, enhancing self-marketing and engaging others. 00:42 🖼 Creating a vivid scene while storytelling allows listeners to visualize, feel the atmosphere, and anticipate the narrative's development. 01:51 🌟 Crafting engaging stories involves more than just recounting events-emphasis on scene-setting, tone variation, and prioritizing essential details is key. 03:15 🗣 Recognizing audience engagement is crucial-observe reactions, body language, and interest levels while storytelling to adjust and maintain engagement. 04:11 🧩 Story structures vary widely, focus on the core content and delivery, allowing flexibility in narrative construction. 04:39 📝 Practical exercise: Write, edit, and rewrite stories, emphasizing scene creation and intrigue, as practice significantly improves storytelling skills.
What you didn't mention is that your first story talked about "I" a lot and sounded egocentric. Your second story said "we" and "you" instead and was therefore a lot more engaging.
Thanks for the tip i have storytelling comp and i just practiced with my teacher who is gonna be listening to me for the competition and when i read it she said i need eye contact and a scene to make everyone listen and interesting also foucused
Thank youuuuu so much...this was helpful. I love your accent BTW and the background music blended just as great. I subscribed already. Looking forward to more videos . lots of love
As I am sitting here I am looking at the colorful lights of my colorwheel speaker.. I have food in the microwave and my husband is watching the news... I am wondering, yes I am wondering am I able to do this? Yes I can but.. How? I think and ponder and think practice... I can practice.. but how?... who do I know that tells such wonderful stories.. then I think of Someone.. Look at the birds of the air... there was a Father who had two sons.. and on and on the stories go.. I think to myself.. I know who can help me tell better stories.. and I will keep practicing and keep learning from the story teller.
Hello, thank you so much for these tips. This REALLY helps, I have a storytelling competition and im the one who was chosen by the school to presentate againce OTHER schools! I am very nervous, but now i feel fine thanks to you :) PS. A random nervous 4th Grader

There is no such a thing as weird accent. You just maybe not familiar with that type of accent. Her accent is very close to a person who has a language from the Latin language family in her repertoire. I would venture myself to say probably Spanish as primary or secondary language, and that can also explain your reference to her as from the Philippines, as Tagalog is heavily influenced by Spanish since the Spaniards made it a colony. The most important thing in communication is to get the message, and she delivered it well. I like her accent.

There was also a sense of positivity in the second version.
The second story connected the emotional impact of every event & detail for oneself and others
I'm not a good story teller, I really want to improve. thank you for sharing

Thank you. I am relatively new in the writing business and this helps me in several aspects such as creating a scene for your readers. ❤️❤️

Your accent is weird, are you from the Fillipines?
I think she's indian
Filipino don't have that kind of accent

Chuu , do you really think accent matters in 2019? She must be from Japan and she is wonderful.
