Really enjoy your videos of the Melia. My husband and I have been going to cayo coco since 2011 we always stayed at the SOL which is the sister resort beside the Melia but sadly it is not open so we are thrilled to be heading to the Melia in a few weeks after too long a break away due to the pandemic. I have found your videos really helpful.

Back pain medication for grounds keepers, extra strength Tylenol, childrens tylenol, laundry soap and toiletries plus Blue Jays shirts (they LOVE baseball)👍🏻🇨🇺❤️ Also bring American, one dollar and five dollar bills to tip. They can’t use Canadian coins.

There was a late plane and the Russians were using up all the lines. The airport workers were working hard to get them on the plane
Very informative and I like how the staff are all cheerful - esp when fist bumping you! We, too, are Canadian folks who are having a hard time choosing between Melia Cayo Coco or Royalton Hicacos Varadero. Looking to book this week so hopefully we have a decision by then!

Thank you for this video! I booked 2 weeks here after watching your videos! I am flying from Ottawa March 8-22 with Sunwing as well and I booked a classic room. Few questions : I have a CIBC credit card and I’m worried it may not work. Have you tried? Canada currently removed the PCR test requirement. They ask an antigen test a day before flying back. Do they offer it? Does this resort sell Cuban cigars? Need to buy as gifts. Some people recommended a few US $ bills for tips but I read US currency is not really accepted. What do you recommend? Finally how were the mosquitoes this time? Mosquitos bites can ruin my vacation and I’m worried about them at this resort because of the lagoon! Thx Ken, love your videos ☺️👌
I just returned from varadero, a few things, our resort offered the rapid tests for 25usd, cigars are pretty much sold everywhere although be careful not to get ripped off, usd is acceptable at the local markets but not stores, credit is only taken there and yes cibc will work! Also the mosquitoes were pretty bad where we were!

We have watched your VLOG several times and enjoyed it and found it informational. We have stayed at the Melia Cayo Coco before and loved it! It was wonderful watching your video and reliving the fun! We will be travelling to Holguin, Cuba in a few weeks - March 21st from Toronto. What type of proof of health insurance did you have to provide entering Cuba? Did you have to show proof of Covid 19 health insurance in addition to medical travel insurance? I have a question - at the entry point to the country, do they scan the QR code on the vaccination certificate or not? I occasionally experience issues with scanning my (EU) covid certificate when abroad, so I need to know whether an issue might arise once in Havana. Thanks in advance!
Yes, they scan your QR Code to get into the country

Cause I heard they only scan their travel app (D'viajeros) but not the covid vax confirmation.
