Seriously could we get a tv show of these two going around different breweries/wineries just touring the facilities and taste testing drinks. I need that in my life.
You got April Wine, Frank Marino, Brian Adams BTO the Guess who and others that broke the mold and got popular and had got records which was hard for Canadian Rock bands back then because of limited over air time and not having solid management and record contracts back then but Rush prevailed and took it further than the rest for rock and prog rock .
My brother passed away January 6th 2022 and he was a big rush fan and as he was going to the other side I play Closer to the heart form everytime I hear that song reminds me of my brother I miss him so much
They don't get enough credit as to just what characters they really are. They're constantly making fun of themselves, too. Like when Geddy tells about their lack of fashion awareness. And how they've tried various types of clothing and sports blazers with the skinny neck ties... all the while thinking they were "cool" and wee able to put their Renaissance fair clothes past to rest once and for all.... but only to later learn that they had failed miserably in the cool fashion department I think those types of "failures" they've suffered while trying to be cool only enhanced the music and made RUSH even more significant than had they been in with the trends, rather than thinking they knew what those were 😄
I think since about 16 years old. But interesting thing I just learned that is not really talked about was the Jeffery Jones was the actual original bass player. He suggested Alex have Geddy join the band in his place. Jeffery went on to play bass for Red Rider and Tom Cochran. I thought that was very interesting connection.
@@berts558 I don't think that's absurd at all. I think if they'd been friends since five or six, we could rightly label that absurd. Seven or eight? Maybe amusing, or perhaps even silly, but I don't think it qualifies as absurd. I could be wrong, though, and I'm not trying to start anything.

If you had to pick only 2 shows to see, you did well. I really liked Rush from 2112 on. My first show was in Mobile, AL 1981, Moving Pictures I think. I was on my way home (New Orleans) from Spring Break in FLA . I didn’t have a ticket; just pulled off I10 and bought one. They were great. I finished my drive to NOLA that night. Next day, a good friend asked if I was. Going to RUSH that night. So i went again. It’s still the only back to back shows I saw. My next show was in Rochester, NY while in collage there. Show #4 was a private affair in Toronto, a pre-tour rehearsal gig for Signals, no fancy lights, just the music, close up. (My roommates dad was a big wig At Atlantic records). The next show I saw, the one that “buried the barb” was 1986, Power Windows in Baltimore, and again in Nola. I never missed a tour since. My last show was on May 22, 2015, my b-day present from my daughters (who of course are rush fans). That was show #107 for me. Still can’t get enough
