Some receptionists at the doctors in the UK have a bit of a reputation for being tricky for no reason.
Mine love keeping people waiting while they finish making a tea and chatting, then say there's delays today even when your the first patient in
Nah the reason will be to reduce pressure on such services.
@@danielnash3345 nah, they literally stand there chatting as if you're invisible at my local surgery. Got there at 9 last week, door locked, woman infront of me knocked on the door at 5 past and said "sorry, do you not open at 9", receptionist just looked blank and her and said, "errr.. yeah", we then both wated a further 10mins while the nurses made a tea and finished their chat about the weekend before being called in for our appointment.
The NHS is amazing, and should be saved at all costs.. but it's also massively flawed when it comes to customer service at my local surgery
That's also quite common among receptionists at other places.
One thing I don’t get(and I say this as someone who doesn’t miss appointments)is signs at reception saying missing appointments costs the surgery money . Because last time I was in the doctors the person before me didn’t show and the doctor said “looks like you have a double appointment now then” and In I went. But if they keep you waiting and late for your appointment that doesn’t cost them money? Confused
@@littlemy1773 Yes, they're often running late, so if someone doesn't show, it's helpful & the next person is seen sooner.
"Computer said no" became a classic phrase and it was used at every possible occasion.
The receptionist is played by David Walliams. He is a comedian, actor, children author and she swam across the English Channel. Nowadays, he is one of the judges on Britain Got Talent.
Also usually comes 2nd to only James Corden in lists of British celebrities who people think have something creepy about them.

I'd recommend one the Fat Fighters sketches, specifically the one with Rosie O'Donnell. These are sketches from Little Britain USA, which was a spin-off for HBO. Not sure if the original Little Britain (UK) sketches are available on TH-cam as I've only ever seen people react to the USA ones.

The phrase "Computer says no" has stuck in British culture to this day. Even people who never watched Little Britain know it and is often used when something that's obviously possible is for some reason not possible to do.
We still use "computer says no" in our day to day interactions in our group 😅😆 Absolutely memorable quote!!! We're from Portugal, so it's international 😂

Carol is a receptionist in lots of places and she's the same everywhere she works. 'Computer says no' is her catchphrase. Lou and Andy are great and Dafydd the only gay in the village.
To be honest....These focused character skits are not designed to play back to back. I think it detracts from the impact of them if you play them together. They were designed to interweave with all the other characters so as to break up what becomes an almost set formula for each. I would recommend selecting the below mentioned characters and posting them as individual skits broken up by one another and also among your other posts. Just a suggestion :)

the 2 I shall never, ever forget are Maggie Blackamoor, member of the Women's Institute (VERY controversial!), and Anne a patient at the Steven Spielberg psychiatric hospital in Little Bentcock. Hilarious

Havnt watched it in ages but you'll find many of the characters have their own catchphrases, the Carol characters is like you said "computer says no"

Not seen it mentioned yet but Matt Lucas from Little Britain (the one who in this video played the husband of the pregnant lady) is also the ‘adult baby’ George Dawes in the Shooting Stars videos you reacted to. He’s the one singing about Potatoes and Lesbians then getting electrically shocked.

It's also great that they found American actors with a sense of humour.
The title of this show also plays into its style as the term 'Little Britain/Englander' is a way of describing people/ a person who is ignorant and confused/scared/maddened by things or concepts that aren't from their local area or England more generally. What you have here is a showcase of extreme examples of British eccentrics that most in the UK will have spotted about, but usually with an over-the-top comedy twist.

There's a great skit with the same two actors (David Walliams and Matt Lucas): "Taaj Manzoor" from Come Fly With Me. It's a spoof fly-on-the-wall documentary set in an airport.
You absolutely have to check out the LB sketches of Lou & Andy. Either them, or the sketches with the character Bubbles.

I love Litle Britain! The funniest characters and sketches I think is Carol Beer, Phyllis Church, Ellie-Grace Day, Vicky Pollard and Daffyd Thomas.
The best comedy show in England is without doubt "Only Fools And Horses" Hilarious stuff :)
Carol's attitude reminds me of the owner of a restaurant near where I used to live. He's regularly loudly banning people from the restaurant just for complaints like "the food is too cold" and for literally counting the food items on the plate. You can't get free tap water to drink (now illegal in England and Wales, but don't complain - they'll just ask you never to come back again) and if they suspect you of sharing a single meal (even just a fork of your own meal for a child, because they insist on you buying their expensive child portion for the child) , you get loudly asked to stop. I was reading Tripadvisor just earlier on - many reviews read along the lines of "I had to give a rating of 1 as there is no rating of 0 available" and "his attitude makes Basil Fawlty from Fawlty Towers look like the manager of the Ritz". You'd think with regular Tripadvisor reviews like this he'd improve his attitude but if anything it's getting worse, with the restaurant regularly now often almost completely empty and at other times customers being shouted at for pointing things out like the cutlery being dirty or the food being expensive for the quantity served. Shame really as, the food isn't terrible and I used to enjoy going there regularly - it's just the attitude and atmosphere that really sucks.
There used to be a Chinese restaurant in London's China Town area called Wong Kei where the staff were often famously rude or abrupt to customers (look it up on Wikipedia) - but you often went there BECAUSE this was entertaining, because they never went over the top with this and the food was well priced and copious in volume, with many putting it down to experiencing the culture difference of going to a genuine Chinese restaurant in London as a Brit. Sadly, Wong Kei is now friendlier and more up-market....
This sort of thing doesn't work when the attitude is generally miserable and lacking people skills.

You should definitely do more little Britain reactions. It might be difficult because a lot of them have been taken off TH-cam. In fact the one you reacted to is from Little Britain USA. The original Little Britain is better. I think you would like their Fat Fighters character, which is a piss take out of weight loss clubs 😅

I have already watched this, but thought I would watch it again. The pregant womans husband is played by Matt Lucas aka Marjorie from the Fat Fighters clips. Matt Lucas and David Walliams (aka receptionist Carol), are in a lot of the skecthes because they wrote the Little Britain series.)

You need to react to "Mr. Man" its a ridiculous series of sketches where a man comes into a shop to ask for very specific items and has to ask his wife Margaret who is upstairs......sounds bizarre. It's my favourite Little Britain sketch:) Alternatively, try reacting to full episodes:)

The clip where he said you should have called before you had a fall reminded me of this video I saw about a woman collapsing at work and her company called an ambulance and her insurance company refused to pay for the ambulance because it wasn't "preapproved", like how can she call the insurance company to get it approved if she's unconscious

Ideally you need to watch full episodes. It’s a multi-character sketch show that crosses all genres of characters. By watching just clips of one character you’re not getting the full experience of a CLASSIC British comedy show. David Walliams and Matt Lucas cross over impeccably.
The only gay in the village is great. the old guy reminded me of my ex father-in-law from the states. When they visited us in the UK we were on the London underground when the train filled up with football fans all singing their usual tasteful songs and jumping up and down. I thought he was going to have a heart attack. Poor old bugger. ✌️♥️🇬🇧
