My father was chief mechanical ingeneer for Massey Ferguson in Germany. He is now in his 90s.
When i was kid instead of playing super nintendo i repaired these engines. He showed me how to pull out the slives for the cylinders.
The were ultra reliable engines, non of them had to be rebuild before 20.000 hours.
Our reletives had them in Forklifters, tractors,harvester and my father build it in a Landrover.
All were reliable, low fuel consumption, and cheap and good available spareparts!Good cold starting abilities even without Preglowing epuipement!
And it has been build for decades: Mark1 to Mark4
