  • Ancient Egyptians believed death was an extension of life, and had many of the same demands. That’s why tombs like those of Tutankhamun were packed with preserved foods like dates, meat, and poultry.

No it's the monitor recordings that lead the scientists to the tomb cause the near by grocery store kept losing snicker bars to a topless teen boy wearing white towel who goes through locked doors like nothing's there.

The dead need their peaceful rest, they didn’t sign up to be displayed for fee.

This is a hard one. On one hand, it is incredibly interesting and the fees make more studies of this nature possible. On the other, we should respect the dead. But at the same time, if nobody alive has any sort of close connection to the dead then shouldn't the next best thing be to keep their memory alive in some manner? That being said, I do think they should remain in their country of origin. Otherwise I'd call it modern-day-grave-robbing

The food boxes (also called "meat mummies") that were found in Tutankhamun's tomb are misunderstood.
They were not simply food. For example, there was also decayed residue of supposed food also found on the floor of the tomb. The king was not served his food on the ground.
The reality is surprising and much more interesting than the identification of food items.
    Studying Tutankhamun's tomb is fascinating.
