- My Canadian friend Aaron tries Filipino Breakfast food for the very first time! Classics like the silog meal featuring savory longanisa, sweet tocino, and tender beef tapa. Also... Pandesal French Toast?!
Shout out to Grassmere Restaurant! If you are in Winnipeg please make sure to check them out and EAT LOTS

Every first bite, classical music comes on, I just laugh. Hahahaha!
same!!! lol
the music in every bite did it for me! lol
Thanks ! A good Filipino food is equivalent to a good classical music lol
lol
I love that Aaron just savors it .
The first taste then suddenly with the Alleluia music background and so on gave me a good laugh. 😂😂👍.
Nice to see Canadian tried the savory taste of classic silog..the filipino breakfast!! Enjoy every bite!! Thanks for sharing and Blessings to you
Kuya Joey! Great Video! Make Aaron try Sisig and Filipino BBQ!!
Tosilog (Tocino Silog) is also my favorite, followed by Tapsilog.
Try also Champorado next time. Champorado is chocolate rice porridge. :)
I really think Filipino breakfast is waayyyy underrated. Silog breakfast is match in heaven combining any of those meat you presented on the video. Even any other meat like Spam, hotdog or even dried fish. Eating with that kind of breakfast is really satisfying, especially if you combined it with drinking hot coffee or hot choco.
For Tocino, you can buy it here in the grocery. The most famous would be "CDO Funtastyk Young Pork Tocino" and "Pampanga's Best Tocino".
I can eat longsilog everyday.. the best food
im so proud to be a Kapampangan, he loves the tocino, it is originated here in Pampanga,
So many new spots in Winnipeg now. I still remember when silog was 3.99 at Julio’s ( the old Myrna’s)
for me my favorite filipino breakfast meal
1. tusilog --- tuyo ( dried fish) , sinangar ( fried rice ) and itlog ( fried egg )
2. longsilog --- longanisang lukban , sinangag ( cook in longanisang lucban oil ) and fried egg
with dipping sauce of vinegar with crush garic and chilli
I live down the road from this place, Nice!
i like this orchestra every first bite of filipino food
The way you guys eat makes me super hungry. 😂
Traditional Longganisa is not colored by Artificial Food Coloring agents like chemical based.... but rather.... with the use of a spice called Atsuete.... which is a bright Red Orange tainting spice.
My Canadian-born son used to rarely eat bfast at home because he went to a daycare til he was about 10 years old and was used to a daycare breakfast of cereals and scrambled eggs. Took him home to the Phils for the first time when he was abt 12 years old and got so addicted to the Pinoy breakfast that he now prefers eating that than the more continental (omelets, etc) we normally have on weekends at home. 😊
If ever you are visiting the Philippines, please ask the staff wether it's gonna be fried rice or just regular plain white rice.
As the trend now, "SI" in "silog" is mostly interpreted as sinangag (fried rice) but sometimes you'll just be served sinaing (plain white rice).
I've tried filipino breakfast. They are delish. I must say, on their own, they are ok. But, together mixed with the egg, garlic rice, and the pickled veggies, they are outstanding. The key is getting all the different flavors in one bite.
For a drink, I usually order brewed coffee after eating tocilog meal 😊😊
Just subscribed. I like the video interesting and funny not boring
awww making my mouth water arrggg!
nice !!!! new sub from the PH!! more video pls.
You'll keep coming back for more! I'll bet on that.. 😉
😂😂and the background music makes more😂😅
Should've done champorrado(if they have it there) for breakfast instead of the French Toast.
From thumbnail image that for rich breakfast
Lol the edits i can't 😂😂😂😂😂
Lolz thanks I tried
That truck driver must have eaten only corn and bread in his country.
Damn, this made me hungry
What is next on the menu? How about chocolate rice or champorado with dried fish
If he enjoyed the tocino. He will definitely like the SWEET HAMONADO. Sheeesh..i hate this vlog this is making me hungry at 3pm. Hahahah
Any left over dinner is Filipino breakfast, just add egg on the side. 😂
beef tapa is the counterpart of beef jerky, tocino is bacon's counterpart
and lastly the longganisa is the sausage counterpart btw as a baker that pandesal is the biggest disappointment for me, it's just like a trying hard french toast, to really highlight the pandesal they should have opted to pair it with chocolate tablea or kapeng barako and kesong puti, or minatamis na bao, or the least peanut butter maybe and for the more experienced option with canned tomato sardines.
anyway nice video
Yummy 😊
pare ng snow na jan sa lugar mo?
Nope. Still no snow!
Forgot the vinegar.
Taste better with spice vinegar.
classic Filipino silog meal does not have a cucumber salad
I don't count the pandesal french toast as Filipino food. It's altering the food drastically to suit Western taste and no Filipino eats pandesal that way.
My grandma used to dip old pandesal on beaten eggs and fry them. Does that count? Though it's usually eaten as an afternoon snack.
It's actually yummy to use cold pandesal bread as french toast. I love it.
nah. it still counts. pandesal is still pandesal. i use stale pandesal and make it into a french toast typa thing
we call it Filipino fusion...we gotta innovate to make things exciting and new but retaining the core
Pandesal is indonesian breakfast bread
Where's your wife kabayan
