So, darn well done that a tear or two came to the corner of my eye. I love singing this song. The band was spot on as well. Guys thanks for keeping the love going.
Yes for sure! It was great to hear this rare one from Ben. Scott Joss really added to the sound perfectly on this one. He also did Farmers Daughter on this show which I will probably post next.
This is a beautiful song and Ben sings it even better than his dad, if that’s possible. Wow! Why was this not a massive hit. Did the record label not promote it? Criminal if not. Still finding treasures of Merle Haggard songs. I first thought it was a Kris Kristopherson song, mighty Merle magnificent song writer. He lives on in his music.
So very true. It’s a cruel trick that if you are lucky you outlive everyone you love. That’s why it’s important to live everyday like there won’t be another now.
@@rkkotilley358 yes sir! This was recorded at the Bob Wills Fiddle festival! It was so appropriate they included an original Haggard Stranger Scott Joss on fiddle. My 26 year old son and I enjoyed the fiddle festival and seeing all of the young fiddlers in the contests. Thanks for commenting.
