    The US only had 151 million people in 1950, so 40 million births in the 1950s is VERY impressive. Today? The US has 335 million people and will only have 37 million births this decade.
    We should be having 90 million births this decade for a similar rate. Heck, even 50 million births would be good.
    Having 3 million fewer births, but more than double the population is a crisis.
