jeeez this song still give me goosebumps bring tears to my eyes remembering back in the 80's as a black girl growing up in the UK jamming/whining to the tune at wedding, birthday parties and even at home on a sunday afternoon for sure it was hit for all west indians parents in UK xx
After almost 40 years I have found this song and the name of the artist. All this time he was saying "I don't mind if you want to give me a woman's music"
Thank you so much, we've lost so many family members this year his four brothers past only a month before him, and his sister Tootsie 3 years prior. On behalf of my family I sincerely thank you.
I had forgotten about this song, now I have a massive smile on my face, one of the all time greats.if you are sitting in your seat while this is playing you must be dead or deaf, lol
where i live, most of the old fellas from up the islands and home in Trinidad play these sounds from this time whiles sitting in their gallary and having some good drinks, i enjoy these sounds and play them on weekends home at me, LOAD!!!! I JUST DON'T DO THE DRINKING. lol!!!
This is my songggggggggg. I went trhu my college years wining down to this song. Winston Soso you are a soca GENIUS. I LOVE ALL YOUR SONGS. Baron and winston Soso, 2 of our soca icons.
One of the best soca song my family used to jammed whenever there was a house party. It bring back good and sad memories and when I was still in high school in 2004-2008.
Still listening to this song. I am remembering my mother Yaseemoon Hassanali, how she use to dance and have a good time. Like this song and love mummy always
Another of the great songs of yesterday.. sweet Vincy soca, arranged by the master, Frankie McIntosh. ah love it. this song caused me to get into plenty trouble on the dance floor.... wuh loss!!! Trinidad, Vincy, Antigua, Grenada.. best soca in the islands ..... and i am a bajan.
To All My People, As a Garifuna person who's ancestors were removed from our Motherland "Yurumein" in 1796 with the name meaning blessed land now known as St. Vincent & The Grenadines, it is always a pleasure listening to my brother. I will dance this song when citizenship status is granted to all the Garifuna people who live in the diaspora.
That's not happening, unless yall are able to prove to have family there you won't get citizenship. The only people who are granted automatic citizenship are children who are born to Vincentians parents. They receive citizenship by descent. St Vincent is way to small to hold all of you from Belize and Honduras plus y'all culture is totally different than ours. Even the Caribs in vincy are into Soca music and not Punta and all that drumming y'all do. Plus most of you Garifuna people love to seperate yourself from black Descendents of slaves in your countries of Belize and Honduras. In vincy we don't do that, we all live in love. Plus it was the Descendents of slaves you built ST Vincent. If you want citizenship marry a Vincentian or y'all can buy Balliceaux.
By rights it should be so... But there are too many variables that would make it kinda difficult.... Much love from Yurumein islands better know as SVG🇻🇨🇻🇨
Arguably Arguably the best song ever made.... im a proud bagan a strong lover and supporter of my country's music,, but place the worth where the worthy stands ,,,this is it...trust and believe it is that sweet,,,never watch the feet of the dancer,,cause they are obviously moving, but watch the feet of the non dancer you will see those toes tapping,, this would do it to you,..thisi s a great put together act. hard suff man.
I recall working in a hotel back in Tegucigalpha. Receptionist was my job. A female friend from Roatan or Guanaja would frequently visit me at the hotel. She always sung this song to me with such a big smile on her face. I must admit it went over my head. I didn't realize what she was saying to me until quite a few years later after I had moved to NYC. That is one that got away.
I hav a recording of Desperadoes Steel Orch playing this song. They did a colourful version of the original. It reminded me of what a great song this is. This was one of the first songs to go at least 3 labor days straight in Brooklyn. Thank you Mr SoSo.
🇻🇨🇻🇨🇻🇨🇻🇨🇻🇨🇻🇨🇻🇨🇻🇨 🔥 !!!! This song is still hot. rip to the Vincy icon and soca legend
