32:40 There is no way that this was his “1st trial & tribulation” w/his father, especially throughout his *lifetime!* One could clearly surmise from the beginning this was not new behavior from his dad. You/we have no idea what Neil has gone through. His dad could’ve been an abusive, strict, terrible father his entire childhood! Every time Neil’s father spoke to him you could see his happiness and life drain out of him. Coming from an abusive family myself I could see & feel Neil’s despair. *Nothing* was going to change his fathers mind & behavior towards him. His mother didn’t defend him either, he had *no* *one* supporting him! He knew his father would *never* let him pursue his *own* dreams or aspirations. His father made it clear that he did *NOT* care what Neil wanted, his thoughts & opinions were insignificant. Look at his dads reaction when he told him he was getting *straight* *A’s* WHILE he was doing the lead in the play! If his grades were suffering because of it, he could I guess have had somewhat of a leg to stand on for his opposition. But he was getting straight A’s and *still* his dad didn’t care! His father was *ONLY* going to let him do what “he” wanted! He had already picked his school, college, career & life for him! When you’re a kid your family is your world. If they’re abusive in any way and there is no one on your side to help you, stick up for you or stop the abuse… it’s an extremely lonely existence. It feels like you’ll never get out of that situation and that’s your life.
Thank You for your reaction 😊 Please react to other meaningful films like this (your channel will grow quickly if you do!) I suggest The Green Mile, Forrest Gump & Gran Torino 😊
