What I love about them is how humble they are about their cars.. not bragging about how much they put in them or whatever... just "yeah, that´s a bumper... no, those lights aren´t stock... yep, that´s a car and I like it... " and be good about it..it´s been like that with all the car girls you´ve been showing lately :)

I lived in Japan for aprox 5 years. One thing that I loved is that no one is concerned that they have to be the latest and greatest. Car culture, 80's rock culture, punk rock, hip hop. Whatever your flavor it doesn't die, it all exists and everyone just enjoys it to a VERY high level. Fantastic!

Good to see younger folks being into the car life. I've got like 11 years on them but the same drive is there for all of us.

seems like only the japanese car culture is like this. European/US car culture nowadays is only about annoying residents and bragging about power/money they spend on their car

It's actually really cool just seeing you speak to such regular people, so young too! And they are just so relaxed about the cars, you can tell they really enjoy it and do it for a hobby and passion, not professionals just people!
I love this so much , because there are not a lot of car couples out there, my wife and I love our sports cars (05 Scion tC & 00 civic EJ) and we go driving, racing each other and just having a blast of a time together, and it bring us closer together and would love to see more on car couples and how they met and got into cars.

Also, that silence when it was reavealed to be an auto 86. As someone with a Corolla S but in auto, it's kinda disappointing but I'm glad he's wanting to swap to manual. Good luck to both of them
What's the issue on driving an auto 86? is driving automatics really frowned on?
@@dudehack2487 yeahh especially in Japan, in Australia where I'm from though no one cares that much (a lot of them aren't even built here)
@@a.a677 most don't care here because we know there's so much more to the car an driver other than which transmission it's in. In towns i've been to, specially Newy, it's more of a "are you a reckless hoon with no respect or are you a good driver with respect".

So many rotary drivers sadly related when she said she had a blown engine. Happens way too often, I felt her pain. They're the cars you want to love but rarely love you back. Had some great memories with mine though and I hope she makes as many great memories as possible with hers.
I'm not into cars (want to drift in a sportscar once in my life though), but it's cool to see how much she loves the hobby. People who are passionate about their hobby are always a joy to listen/talk to.

I read the Rx8 had a very rough and tough maintenance issues.. it requires the engine to be removed for in depth service due to the belt system. Very tough car to keep for long usage .
The first several fast and furious movies came out before she was even born! 😅. It would be interesting to hear what the locals think of the series, especially Tokyo drift! 😅

next time, give us the inside skinny on how he was able to get an " 8 6" license plate!!!!! how did he manage it?
In japan you can basically just sit in line and wait for the number to come up at the DMV the Yakuza used to do this to get license plates with all 4s or all 7s so like "4444" or "7777", so maybe that's how he did it, not 100% sure though.
When you register your vehicle you can request the number you want on the license plate. For special numbers (some single digits or all the same number) there is a lottery system about once a week that you can enter since they are higher in popularity.
the RX-8 has a license plate of 8 the GT86 has a license plate of 86
