Is anyone old enough to remember the Scweppes television commercial for sparkling drinks and the sophisticated gentleman in it? That's what Dan reminded me of. Wow, Dan looked so sophisticated dressed up and his beard so perfectly groomed. He has come a long way that's for sure. I am addicted to his channel as well as Steph's Chateau Diaries. Her content is so delightful and includes so many aspects of life, art, beauty, nature, friendship, love, joy, warmth - been hooked for years now.

It was so natural to see 'all of the chatelaines visiting.' Great friends with a special connection, in common! All items Vivienne and Simon purchased (especially those vases, wow! Will be lovely in their chateau.) They will make everything even more special, and cannot wait until once again seeing any items they did get, that may need some TLC! Stephanie your face is glowing, and you look younger than ever! Can see this is working nicely for you with hydration for the skin, But you always look nice in all you wear and even without the extra hydration, really, you are very lucky! A fun vlog! If you want to slice something covered in very hard chocolate, put your knife in hot water first to heat up and that heat should melt the chocolate. Tip from an ex pub chef and school cook!

Dan scrubs up so well, Stephanie in future dip your knife in hot water before cutting the caramel slice. What a fun weekend, I would love to own a Chateau. You have found a gem in Marie.
Stephanie, to cut your Caramel Slice: put the knife blade in very hot water (tall glass or water carafe) for 10 minutes, then push down with the blade rather than slicing. The other option is to take the Caramel Slice out of the fridge and let stand 20 to 30 minutes to warm up to room temperature. You would still need the warm knife blade but the Caramel Slice would not be as "hard". You can also try slicing it with a long, serrated edge knife. Either of these options should work for next time. As a last resort, run the tip of a very sharp knife 3/4 of thickness of the Caramel Slice just before you refrigerate it. This "opens" the edges and allows you to cut the rest easily.

Yes! It also helps to use a large block cleaver knife for even distribution when pressing down, but make sure it's sharp.
