Hi Alex)) Few comments from R.E. insider. Sliema is much more expensive than Ta'Xbiex. It is a most sought-after area, too. Especially the Tigne area and Fort Cambridge. Those are sold a minute it comes to market. Also, If we compare rental prices of a 3 bedrooms luxurious apartment in Ta'Xbiex with the same in Sliema, the same quality in Sliema costs double. In Ta'Xbiex, in the best block, 3b apt is about 2k, till in Sliema, Tigne it costs a minimum of 4k. BTW. Ta'Xbiex is not the area where the biggest number of embassies are located. The biggest number of embassies are located in the capital city Valletta. I think 9 of them. Only 4 in Ta'Xbiex, and all others everywhere in central areas.
Thanks a lot Ljiljana, it is a pleasure to read such detailed comment from an expert in the real estate sector. TaXbiex came as a third city as it is just on a walking distance from my house, in reality i wanted to get Mdina instead. If you dont mind me asking... as im doing part 2 of this video, shall i include Santa Maria estate ? Or maybe can you suggest 3 cities (districts) i shall do next ? Thanks a million
@@AlexinMalta Santa Maria estate again is not a town or a city on it's own it's just what the area within the town of Mellieha is called. Yes that area is an area reserved mostly for villas and bungalows which of course hikes up the price. Area of land and location of land is everything
@@markpace123 thank you for the clarification Mark, its much appreciated, just for the sake of the title, i had to mention “cities” not villages or districts, as many would not understand that The entire Island is just the size of a capital city in Europe
Ljiljana- I am an experienced RE pro currently interviewing for jobs in Malta. If you are a RE pro, can we somehow connect? Looking to lay import foundations for my move. Would mean the world!
@@AlexinMalta Good to know thanks! We are moving with 2 kids so we are thinking about where to move. We thought maybe Sliema, Gzira or Pembroke (school is in Pembroke). The most important for us, to step out of the door and have basically all shopping amenities. You have any idea? ☺️
Great. I filmed a video about it and its comming out next week. But to shortly answer your question. Try to get apartment in Pembroke (the side of Pembroke near St Julians) so you will have everything on a walking distance
Alex thank you for showing these videos, I was born and raised in that neighborhood, my brother lives in ta Xbiex That big building with the stairs and the green windows, used to belong to the British, it was a residence for the nurses, we use to go up down those stairs I definitely prefer the old building to the new ones they are building Malta looks commercial now, what a change from when I grew up there
Hi Mary❤️ first and foremost thanks for your lovely comment, you have provided me with info that it was much needed for me to know. I love Malta and i love the traditional old buildings. In my opinion we need to have modern part (not the entire island)… i am happy i brought you down memory lane of your childhood. Thanks for watching❤️
Ahh! Love Portamasso! Great cocktails in the Hilton and then on to Zeri’s my favourite restaurant in Malta. Will be back later on in the year! Can’t wait to be back! Great video Alex
Other locations apart MADLIENA, PORTOMASO and ST. JULIANS which are considered as expensive in MALTA, are locations such as SANTA MARIA ESTATE in MELLIEHA, TA' XBIEX the high point of it where many Embassie are found, a part of KAPPARA in SAN GWANN, MDINA, the silent city, a part of ATTARD, etc. :)
I think this is a little misleading. These are areas within towns not exactly cities. The most expensive places to buy/rent in Malta are Mdina and Valletta. The most sought after are Sliema, Ta' Xbiex, St. Julians, Ibragg, Pembroke so their rent prices hike up a lot. But the general Maltese public prefer to have a central area like Balzan, Lija, Mosta which also hikes up the price. If you want peace a quiet that's a different story
Hey Alex, it's Annabel again😊. Just want to share a few video ideas with you. I believe videos on the process of Malta work permit esp. for the non-eu peraons, a video on the first important things to do once you land in Malta as a foreigner and lastly a video on some of the best and affordable places to live as well as good banks for foreigners to bank in, esp those of us that will be coming this year. Thanks and great work as always🙏😊.
Hey Annabel, thanks a million for this comment. 2 videos of this topics are already filmed and in the process of editing, but u just gave me an incredible video idea that i will film tomorrow, all these videos will be out very soon. Thank u
11-X-2021. Dear Alex l designed that Port Maso hotel and the new building, the older one my Greath grandfather designed it.Another thing find out Who is the legale title holder to the land and the building, two diffrent things.
Which do I prefer ? Depends on the facilities that the hotel offers. I have stayed in some pretty dreadful hotels in Malta and equally I have stayed in very very very nice hotels in Malta. Based on looks I would stay in the tradition looking one
When I compare housing in California where I lived for 44 years since I was 16 (I was born in Rome, Italy), and housing all over Europe (even Switzerland) or Mexico everywhere is cheaper

Hai brother Alex,, thanks for your valuable videos, Iam traveling to Malta coming Tuesday, I have already taken 2 Sputnik and Pfizer booster, but Iam confused about quarantine if authorities from airport insist that mandatory quarantine required , I should book reputed hotel before flying or it must be arranged from there only on arrival time, could you please answer me,, thanks
Been living with my family and studying in Malta for about 6 years and just moved to Prague this year. Malta is becoming much more expensive than Germany and some other wealthy EU countries but expats who work there is underpaid and also the Tax🤦♂️ Beautiful island tho! Lively and pretty active. If you love the chill and southern lifestyle, the island is for you.
Like, no. Madliena, maybe yes, but there are far more expensive areas around the Island. The video could have been named "from what I know.. the 3 most expensive..." Look for a place (to buy) in Mdina, San Pawl tat Targa, Bidnija, Wardija, Santa Marija -Mellieha (OMG)... all boils down to where you know about...
