Respect for your ability to seek the appropriate advice about the trees, and willingness to accept that advice from a professional, along with the reasons given for that advice. So many people cut trees down for what to me are the wrong reasons, and do not seek professional advice.

Poor João - I thought he said Não to pushing the boys in the wheelbarrow yet he ended up doing it 😂

You ( and Claudio) have explained well what’s required to have trees establish and thrive on your farm. Don’t worry, I hate removing trees too but can see the benefit of tree management so you give them the best chance of lasting, whilst keeping your home and family safe. The red oak is absolutely beautiful. Health to you all to enjoy it for many years.

I guess in the past forestry areas would have been managed by very learned individuals who were finely attuned to nature and the eco system. This would have meant removing diseased trees and ones not growing in the right place. Oak trees are slow growers so the kids will be grown before it gets very large. Amazing how much you have accomplished in the past 3 years. When the kids graduate from high school, you and John will have beautifully situated home to enjoy. Crusoe and Sawyer have lots of land to explore for years.

What a joy to see your boys living their best life and getting their best education. They are so happy. Yeah those trees do need to be cut down but what a beautiful place you’re going to end up with. It’s a never ending job, but as you go, it gets more beautiful and more beautiful.

Great to see that Claudio has made you aware of the management of your trees. Forest management is a thing that I learned from other flogs. You just have to cut down some to make room for others and with proper planning you can create an even better forest! Just love your flogs!

I recently watched an environmental restoration video where they pulled down a goodly portion of the timber plantation trees which had choked out the natural forest. The goal was restoration of natural where the downed trees would attract small mammals and birds to start the process of reseeding and new growth. The rotting of the downed trees would be key and the room for sunlight reaching the ground would expand the diversity. They had one segment which showed a restored area which indeed looked more diverse and rich. It makes me supect John and Tara's work will lead to beautiful surprises.

I thank the terrace and the pool area is going to look great once all the rock walls is cleared and the steps get tied in to the wall on both sides I think it’s great the tree people can tell you what needs to stay and what needs to go so other trees can grow like they should and be big and majestic some day you are are doing a great job and keeping nature in the forefront of all your building projects 🌳❤

I’m so glad you are getting some expert advice concerning the trees on your property. Trees like all plant life need to be in the proper location need room to grow and need to be maintained. Some should never be near a house . Of course now with even more property you’ll need to maintain the undergrowth to help prevent fires. And I’m sure you’ll have fun finding new species to add to your forest.

I am so glad you chose the red oak tree. The colours were stunning. Maybe it would help to study woodland management in order to come to terms with tree removal and thereby allowing other flora to flourish? Also, you do have fires and big storms in your area, so you really don’t want trees too close to the house. Are there regulations guiding this principle? Mr and Mrs Adventure have been working on this recently. Good luck with the final decision ❤

I am blown away, Tara, with how beautiful your family's place is shaping up! I don't have anything new or exciting to say that hasn't already been said. Your choices are excellent and I just am so proud of you and John and, of course, those amazing boys! Do the trees right away, though....don't do them "a little bit here and there"....okay? There - that's my little bit of advice. God has blessed you more than you will ever know!

Hi from Australia, I honestly thing to leave the tree removal to the experts. It’s heart breaking but also important to have a fine balance and do the right thing for the environment you are nurturing and living in. A guardian of the land. Sending blessings and a very Merry Christmas to you both and your gorgeous boys. X

I understand your pain, but look to the other side... instead of cutting down , you are protecting the ones left to grow and thrive by those that aren't in a good way. It will be beautiful in another year and you will be glad it's done. I am so excited for you all. What a delight this will be.
