Its to late to cry. You paid too much and you put very high-end items into the structure. Your work is A+. The neighborhood is a C to C+. If you can get a very good tenant with a real job and a good credit score, rent it out and in future time you will have a pot of gold. Remember a bad tenant will bring disaster.
Funny you should say that about the area…… we were commenting on how affluent it was yesterday! I think it’s different when you are there in person….. you would see the charm …… I think you will be shocked on the final vlog from this place, I don’t want to ruin it for you, so won’t say any more - just watch this space!!!
I don’t know if it’s all of Europe, but I know England you have to pay six months or a years rent upfront before you even step in the door! Good for the landlord not having to wait a to be paid.
I love how we comment on Anna and Ed’s work as if our opinions matter when none of us have put our blood sweat and tears into this property. These two see this property in their precious hours of sleep, they talk about it during their family time, it is in their financial talks, they talk about it at dinner with friends. And all we do is sit back, spectate and criticize 😅😂😂😂😂. I do not understand how anyone of us viewers can have anything else to say besides encouragement and bravos.
Your decision makes perfect sence because one beam is dark wood and the other is light. I never question your decorating choices, everything always turns out beautiful
Normally, I wouldn't paint them, BUT I think dark beams above my head in a otherwise light colored room would be disconcerting and make it fell smaller there.
There was nothing controversial about painting the beams, nor anything else that that you've done on this beautiful build. Your work is fantastic, and your design decisions the best. I'm getting a little excited seeing this project nearing completion, and like just about everyone else, I can't wait to see that door installed. Happy holidays!
I understand your decision to paint is right …considering the nature of the repair like you said…..everything you have chosen has been artistically beautiful..
I have just climbed down off my dining room table where I have been watching/listening to your vlog - specifically to say that I am painting my 8th joist of 26 in a little greene distemper coloured with yellow ochre.. 🤣Having just finished painting the main beams in the sitting room with Stone mid distemper.. and it looks fantastic. These old French houses can take it! Go team Bordeaux life! Now I am going to climb back on the table and crack on..
Normally I am not a person that would support painting old wooden beams but you have a vision in mind and ultimately this is your place not mine. I'm looking forward to seeing the end result because I know that you have style and you being happy at the end of the day is what truly matters. Rock on!
I like the beams painted. It looks clean and fresh and brightens the area. The paint you’re using Ed gives good coverage for one coat! Impressed. Noticed the neighbour’s bins are back in front of your shutters!!!
I normally like as much wood as possible. Especially old dark wood but in this case I think it's best not to bring to much attention to the beams. Blending them into the background is the best.
Every time you showed the beam I thought "I can't wait until those beams are painted" so thank you, I'll sleep tonight. 😅 The floor brings out such warm rich tones in the stone, well worth waiting to see. Now, many styles of decor can be imagined within the backdrop you've created. I absolutely love it.
I think everything you’ve done and every decision you guys have made has been spot on and and I’m not even to the completed end. I’m excited every day when I open up these videos.
If you’re going to paint beams, matt white is the way to go. I’ve done my study that way purely because some years ago someone used dark brown gloss on them. It is light & airy. It will look fabulous. Matt hides the lumps & bumps. Gloss only works on smooth, even surfaces. (Besides, who wants all those reflections!).
Any decision you make about your decor etc. is an educated and experienced decision. In my opinion you made the correct one. You guys know what you’re doing. ✨🇦🇺
I love wood beams, but agree the beams needed to be painted. It saved you $$ to be spent better elsewhere in the large scheme of things. I am excited to see the front door & window installed! Can't wait to see the finished project & how it turns out... HELLO 👋🏻 from Alhambra Southern California 🌴
I think the lovely masonry work is a great focal point in that room, and the white painted beam will only accentuate those walls. Normally I would say don't paint the wooden beam, but if it detracts, paint it.
As soon as you said it’s controversial, I knew you were gonna paint the beams. You’re the owners, and your decision is the only one that counts. Thank you❤
Joyeux Noel Anna and Edd, I have made up my mind a long time ago, to trust you both in your choices and design decisions. I like the white, the build is taking shape and is going to be beautiful. Well done as always. Love from N.Y.
I don't really understand leaving the beams exposed and then just painting them. But I'm sure you have your reasons and the place looks great, so far. Well done. Hi Louis!❤❤❤
I liked that the lower beam was painted but personally I would have preferred that the rest stayed dark brown. But that being said it is not my home. Ed and Anna know what is best for where they live. They always make best choices
Oh, ouch! White paint on those beams?! You're right - it really is too bad you couldn't find a supplier for old beams when you replaced these ones. I personally hate the matte white trend - it's everywhere, it's sterile, and I think it feels cold. I unbeatable why you had to do something to the beams you've got, but I wish you'd tried a dark stain first or something. But it's not my house, and the place looks gorgeous. It must feel so nice to finally have heat! Happy holidays! 🎄🥂💕
I think you made the absolute correct decision, painting the beams white. The beams was not the best looking, and they were not looking "old construction" and weatherd in the "right" way. The fact that the room is quite small and with not a very high ceiling, gives the whole room a more open and complete, and of course more modern look in coherence with the appartments/houses overall theme. I love it!!😍 I did the same thing with some big, old, but low beams in an old farmhouse appartment I had several years ago in Maubec in Provence. It was in a loft part, mezzanine type room, and it looked so much better in white than they did in my original choice of dark walnut stain. 🤩 I also enjoyed looking at you two relaxing in the street in front of the appartment/house bidding on the online auction! It looks so casual and typical french! 🥰 Where I am sitting right now in the southern parts of Norway, we have minus 2 degrees Celsius, ice all over and a cooooold wing blowing right through you....🥶 Thanks for sharing you beautiful and heartwarming videos!!🥰👍 BTW: I really hate your front door, but I assume you are going to do something with it??😂 Best regards from Roy in Norway.
lol, after Edd walked through the front I was like when are they going to finish that? Then you talk about its status. Great minds think alike, haha. You should save it for the detail to be put up since it’s the 1st thing you see. Cheers Kirk
I have a small Chateau The Attic is large and we have a large bedroom with " His and Hers" Shower and toilet ..There is a forest of exposed Beams ...i painted them ...Barley White It looks Great its got a New York Loft Vibe ..... Looks airey instead of a " Forest above your head !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

in Bordeaux, lot of boroughs who was C- becames quickly AAA, Ed is investing judiciously to my view!
I don’t know if it’s all of Europe, but I know England you have to pay six months or a years rent upfront before you even step in the door! Good for the landlord not having to wait a to be paid.
Painting is a good choice!!!!!!❤
Looking great! 😊

Beams look good. Can't wait to see the front door in place. Your place, your wallet, your choice!
exactly...I'm just enjoying the ride :)
Your decision makes perfect sence because one beam is dark wood and the other is light. I never question your decorating choices, everything always turns out beautiful
Love the beams!!! - Really LOVE the beams!!! That’s how I’d do ‘em!
I’m normally a natural wood fan, However, sometimes this is not the best choice. I like the white. No harm done.
white makes it light airy and with the floor perfect 🤩
Considering the beam is really ugly I think painting is the best solution. Looks fantastic!
I like the beams painted! It looks very fresh and clean.
The matt white beams make the room lighter and appear more spacious. I really like that. Nice work.
Painting the beams was the right call! Usually I don't like them painted, but painting them helps the room look more cohesive and airy.
I usually don't paint my beans, but to each their own 😂
Normally, I wouldn't paint them, BUT I think dark beams above my head in a otherwise light colored room would be disconcerting and make it fell smaller there.
They had made the best decision about those beams. It's going to be more clear also.
I love it painted...right choice as far as I am concerned
I like beams painted . Looks clean and elegant. Good job Edd.
There was nothing controversial about painting the beams, nor anything else that that you've done on this beautiful build. Your work is fantastic, and your design decisions the best. 😅yes you made the right choice. The wood was so different. To me, it’s the stone that speaks!
Edd, regarding your front door frame, ask Stephanie to ask Amaury, he’s the top man for that sort of work!
Armaury can be a good man for this probably but is agenda at work is completely full.
❤ i like the white. It looks clean and modern
The beams look good painted makes room more cohesive, well done guys. Xx
I understand your decision to paint is right …considering the nature of the repair like you said…..everything you have chosen has been artistically beautiful..
I think it’s the right decision. I like it.
I like the white beams 👍

Great progress, and I love the color scheme of the interior! ❤✌️🥰👍
Much more appealing with the beams painted white! ❤Love it!❤They disappear and it’s takes your eye away from them. They are unsightly!😮
I like the beams painted, it gives it a fresh look
Love painting the walls. It feels so complete. Makes me happy
Beau travail, beaucoup d'idées et magnifique réalisation. Félicitations

Good choice, all beams white 👌
Your decision to paint the beams was right again, Edd! Now the stone wall and floor can be the stars of the room.
I love the aesthetics. Takes it to a different realm
I normally like as much wood as possible. Especially old dark wood but in this case I think it's best not to bring to much attention to the beams. Blending them into the background is the best.
This is going to be stunning!!!!!❤
I've no doubt it will be stunning.
Well done, light and airy for a different era.
Every time you showed the beam I thought "I can't wait until those beams are painted" so thank you, I'll sleep tonight. 😅
The floor brings out such warm rich tones in the stone, well worth waiting to see. Now, many styles of decor can be imagined within the backdrop you've created. I absolutely love it.
It’s so nice seeing that paint go on the walls ❤😊
Hello Anna and Edd. I think the white paint will go with the walls and ceiling. Love it.
I’m patiently waiting for the new front door. Lol ❤
Looks better painted because the beams weren't all the same color.
Also, it lightens it up.
It looks great Edd and Anna!
Looks nice 👍 I'm glad you were able to secure the chandelier. ❤
I like the white paint.👍🇩🇪
Now that I see the floor, painting the beams white was the correct thing to do!
at the first swipe of the brush i thought. GOOD CHOICE
Vogue or not, I just love the matt white beams!!!
Personally, I think that was a good decision. It's going to look the best in the long run.
I think everything you’ve done and every decision you guys have made has been spot on and and I’m not even to the completed end. I’m excited every day when I open up these videos.

It's a small area. White opens it up. I hate painting wood but understand.
Wow! It's really coming together! We'll done!
White looks good.
I love the change of those Cinderella buildings - wonderful ❤👏👍
Good afternoon Anna and Ed don't worry trust your heart ❤️. Great job your both doing on the renovation
Merry Christmas 🎄
looking nice and bright nice choice of colour Edd and Anna😘
White beams see fine. Modern looking. Can’t wait for next week!
The painted beams look great. ♥️ I can’t wait for the front door to be installed!
Great choice painting the beams!!! Looks nice!
White is fine!! Knowing what this house looked like when you started out - those beams are looking their best now!
I think the white beams suit that particular house. Good decision!!!
Yep ya did the right thing!
So glad you made an excellent decision on the exterior door, and that floor is great. Wishing you two and your families a Bonne Noel. 🎄🎄🎄
I think it is the right decision.
it must feel great to be at this point! Looking beautiful.
Your house, your decision 😀
Love the white
I think the lovely masonry work is a great focal point in that room, and the white painted beam will only accentuate those walls. Normally I would say don't paint the wooden beam, but if it detracts, paint it.
Brilliant absolutely brilliant. The final reveal will be spectacular.
Looking Great Edd Anna.Xx 😘
white will make it look bigger so I'm a fan
A stain? Matching the dark brown beams.
As soon as you said it’s controversial, I knew you were gonna paint the beams. You’re the owners, and your decision is the only one that counts. Thank you❤
I like the white it suits.
Looks soo much better that colour 😊😊😊

Hi Louis!❤❤❤
The white beams will bring more light into the room
I liked that the lower beam was painted but personally I would have preferred that the rest stayed dark brown. But that being said it is not my home. Ed and Anna know what is best for where they live. They always make best choices
C'est la vie, Edd and Anna, its your renovation, your doing the work, which is exceptional by the way!🥂 So if you want to paint the beam white, do it.
Ed and Anna it looks nice and fresh (better painted white) can't wait fingers crossed 🤞 take care and see you both next time 💕🌼🤗
The white paint will be beautiful!❤
Personally I prefer the dark wood in contrast to the white ceiling.
So pretty, good choice 😁
Oh, ouch! White paint on those beams?! You're right - it really is too bad you couldn't find a supplier for old beams when you replaced these ones. Painting the beams make the room look bigger
That paint has tremendous coverage of the dark beams!
Personally, I wouldn't have painted them white, I'd have stained them dark brown.
I would have kept the dark wood beams as they were and just painted the other one ❤
I think you made the absolute correct decision, painting the beams white. The beams was not the best looking, and they were not looking "old construction" and weatherd in the "right" way. The fact that the room is quite small and with not a very high ceiling, gives the whole room a more open and complete, and of course more modern look in coherence with the appartments/houses overall theme. dont go with vogues you made the correct decision to paint beam the house is shaping up to be stunning
The walls sure need a Second coat. Looks way better BTW.
If all the beams were in the same colour it would have been better left, but with the fix I think that you made the right decision. 👍
Have you asked Stephanie or Billy about someone they know who can frame out the door for you?
I have a small Chateau The Attic is large and we have a large bedroom with " His and Hers" Shower and toilet ..There is a forest of exposed Beams ...i painted them ...Barley White
It looks Great its got a New York Loft Vibe ..... Looks airey instead of a " Forest above your head !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for your Responce ..keep up the good work !!!!!!!!!!!!!
...love the music during Edd's painting, etc...thank you for sharing
