Excellent video, great information very clear and accurate. It is true that is a very affordable option to go from and to any location over the federal highway, but also gotta keep on mind that cars go on this highway at 120 km/h, about 74 mph...so if you don't tell the driver with anticipation where to stop...will take very far, and this vans don't go back on the road.
@@papawgotagopro Yes. What I used to do is to turn off google maps on the phone, and pin the location where I am going prior to take the van, that way I knew when to tell the driver to stop about a mile or two away from the destination.
Papaw Got A GoPro Going great thanks! Took a colectivo from the Bahia Principe to Playa Del Carmen and back. It was a perfect ride going but more crowded coming back. The driver dropped us off in front of the Sian Ka’an arch and we played human Frogger crossing the highway. That was a bit stressful but not as difficult as it may have been. Thanks so much for the tips! They worked great!
Received the giveaway prizes from the other weeks drawing today! Thanks a lot. In the last drawing I was chosen for the foam wind protection cover. Nobody had entered for the video light so I asked if it was available and he threw it in. Both arrived safely and I really appreciate it. I’ve always wondered if these giveaways were legit. I can now say they are and I have the proof. Thank you again!

Hello, Love your videos!!! We plan on taking a trip to Barcelo riviera or Bahia luxury akumal Which do u think has better beach and food? And we were wanting to go to 5 th ave in the collectivo and I know it will drop u off at hwy and we’ll have to walk a bit , but do u know where we should get out for 5 th ave I know to tell the driver but I’d like to know too in case he forgets lol Thanks a lot😍
So no kids going? I've not been to Barcelo Riviera because the price looks to me to be too high. Bahia Principe Luxury Sian Ka'an adults only is our favorite resort of all (we've been here 8 times and to over 20 others). Never mind it isnt "on the beach" because that does not matter. I posted a brand new video of it last week. We were at Luxury Akumal a few weeks ago because our 8 year old grandson was with us. I have to say, I was disappointed. The 3 other sections were much better managed.
Great info we do take the Colectivo in Mexico regularly ... question...what resorts have you been to with a "day pass" we will be staying for the winter in Playa Del Carmen and want to do "day Pass" at as many of the all inclusive resorts as we can...Viv
Actually this day was the only day pass I’ve ever done. In the future I might do others, I’ll just have to weigh the cost against whether or not the video income is worth the cost and the day away from my chosen resort and activities. I’m at the Bahia Luxury Akumal right now. Tomorrow me & the son in law are taking a colectivo to the Chedraui shopping center in Puerto Aventuras. I’m gonna record another colectivo video!
@@papawgotagopro We have stayed at the Sian Kaan its one of our favorite resorts...these days we try to stay for a few months at a time and rent a condo.,..hope to head down in a week or two can't wait...will look for your next video!!...enjoy your time in paradise...Viv
If you’re staying at Coba, Tulum or Akumal and you want to take the Colectivo towards Tulum, ride the trolley across the bridge to Sian Kaan. Tell the driver to let you off to walk to the highway. There’s a driveway alongside the bridge to the highway. Another great thing about Bahia Principe, you can take the Colectivo and never have to play Human Frogger. Jeff (Papaw)
Hey there! I'm making an informative vlog about traveling around yhr Yucatan Peninsula and I need some footage of buses and bus stations. Can I use the footage from your video in my? just a few shots
We’ve never needed more bottled water than the room attendant leaves us. Maybe once we had to ask for more. But if that isn’t sufficient for you, you can take the Colectivo to the Chedraui in Puerto Aventuras
Hey Shila! No, not too late at all. Send me an email to papawgotagopro@gmail.com with your address. It’ll be a few days before I can ship - I tested positive for the Covid yesterday so I’m staying in.
When you get on, tell the driver where you want to go and he always seem to remember. Ask him how much and have the pesos ready to hand to the driver when you get off, and say 'gracias'. There are less colectivos at night and they stop running at 11 PM.
“If someone just got off of a 10 hours shift I will get up and let him sit” you have a heart of gold sir!
Thank you! And thank you for watching. We are returning in a few weeks and I am considering an updated video on the colectivo.
What an amazing and informative video!! Thank you so much. You gave crucial details that other videos do not privide.

Really helpful video! I was wondering how frequent they are? Sorry if you've already mentioned it in the video!
They are usually spaced no more than 3-5 minutes apart. Usually about half will be full so will not stop.

How do we get across to the other side of the highway to go down to Tulum if at Bahia Principe ? Do they have a bridge ?

What to say when you are getting off?
Call out your stop, if you see the driver isn’t slowing.

He said it's about 45 or 50 pesos, which is around 2 US dollars.
@@fasting50plus thanks buddy. I’ve been there and done few colectivos . Very cheap. An experience 😂👍🏻
i don’t speak Spanish?? Will the colectivo driver understand me? My Spanish vocabulary is very limited🤦🏻♂️
All you really need to tell the driver is the name of the place you are going to.
From Barcelo to Puerto Juarez is there a colectivo ?
