Descara here - don't wanna take toooo much credit, but given the popularity after arti cup 9 - I pretty much made a new AAV-Strike Fighter rush singularly to beat Agame on Kalash as Gaal or Kaneeph for arti cup 9 (however I chickened out in the relevant game, g2 of arti cup 9). The order my build is 2S to Cu, 2S to Ru. Salvage BR, get 4x salv long distance mining. Do manual RU drop-off when RU pile shows 2915, AAV research soon as possible - do manual CU drop-off for even tighter timing - this is literally the fastest AAV:s possible.Get only 1 LAV, when AAV research is finished, get 3 AAV:s, immediately rally to just outside enemy carrier range, then attack in force. 2 more next, either go in on flank OR defend if necessary. The ONLY thing that can stop 5-6 salvager kills is _completely_ blind assault railgun research/production. Note: ONLY making 1 LAV lets you build 5 AAV:s without another logistics module. Tyis gives yiu such a good timing, nothing but blind assault rails can defend 3 AAV:s (and that too has a hard time) After 5 AAV:s, get SF research, build 5 SF and kill 1 prod cruiser (you need to micro). Tren deserves a LOT of credit for playing soooo many times helping me optimise this build, landing at AAV:s almost 10 seconds before my earlier build. PS: for flawless AAV timing, position your carrier with the butt towards the enemy.
Fantastic insight, thanks so much. The funny thing is, that game with you vs Agame on Kalash is where I got the idea for this video. I have basically been copying that build, but not having the ability to see exactly what your timings were, I had to try and figure it out myself, and this is what I came up with.
+Dreamlands haha I was so drunk making that comment though ;) I missed saying making 2 Salvs before 4x long-distance mining. But to summarise: 2S->CU 2S->RU, LAV research, retire BR, build 2S->CU, 1S->long distance mine RU, @ 2915 RU AAV research, 3S-> long distance mining (1st to RU), 1 LAV, 5X AAV, SF research at 4-5th AAV, 1 logistics module, 5 SF:s. Fastest AAV/SF timing :))
I would like to comment on his mention of streamlining gameplay: He wanted me to play standard gaalsien, and we shared limited intel. He didn't know my exact number or disposition of units, and I kept him guessing in some regards. I told him when I had spotted AAVs (but that was obvious), and that I would go into rails (also obvious choice), also when I started AA research (which was basically after I had seen his hand). He had no idea I went for Refinery Mode and a second PC until he spotted it, for example. I think I could have made a stronger push with my sandskimmers, and quicker, if I had sacrificed macro for aggression. But even then, I didn't really have a pre-made build order in my head, so I was on the backfoot from the first second.
Nice Video again, very informative and a lot of fun to watch. Keep up the good work. Finally got the game and getting to know it by playing the campaign. I really like the flow of battles in mp. It looks like its a lot about positioning and strategy with tactics being the smaller part of it. And i like the focus on a smaller amount of units. What i allways despised about Starcraft for example were the immense amount of units you often have to handle. I hope to get into mp in the near future. Cya :)
This is probably going to be my go-to opening. Seriously, I hate rush, might as well make my opponents hate it too. :D Thanks a ton for this. I've been meaning to ask you though, is the multiplayer still region locked or did BBI fix that? Also, how lively is the multiplayer community for DoK?
It was ever? Anyway, the community is alive and well here discord.gg/VRsZ2CQ on the Homeworld Universe Discord, there's also a steam group called Sajuuk's Legacy steamcommunity.com/groups/sajuukslegacy although I, and many others, prefer the Discord because of its ease of use. Lastly, just catching a public game lobby and adding the people in it will slowly grant you connections to more and more people playing. You know when you're involved when you get too many invites. ;) Also, definetly don't miss the streams later today, details are on the discord server info!
This is honestly one of the strongest Coalition builds that I know of for 1v1. I have a couple other interesting ones coming in the future you will like :) As Megarith mentioned, join the Homeworld Discord. Basically the entire community is on there, so you will have no problem making friends and finding games. Also, the region lock was removed in one of the earliest patches.
you're loosing your strike fighters, thats more expensive than what you traded them for... better to have 1 or 2 aavs made at home keep them behind dune, and not show the fighters until you're ready... also manually make them run around the PC instead of eatying aa shots

I love how you say educational tool, I found that pretty funny although you definitely wouldn’t be far off, i mean it’s pretty gud guide.

Thanks a lot guys. Look forward to meeting you on the field! If Sajuuk be kind. :)
Hell yeah :)
i love this game so much
You and me both :)
That last battle cruiser was overkill by the way. LOL
I still want to try and figure out a Battlecruiser rush build that isnt crap lol.
LOL. That I would love to see. :D If it's at all possible.
