Mr Frog clearly has the best puppets, but I love Shrimp's direction style and dedication to doing every visual from scratch. And calling in Jennifer's VA was a stroke of genius
I found it quite humorous that Charlie's eyes are on the side of his head, and when he turns his head, there are two more eyes, so technically he has 4 eyes.
What if he was prescribed glasses? Would he be called six or eight eyes?

I love how all three episodes have such unique strengths. Mr. Frog had the most expressive puppetering, the Shrimp one had a low-budget charm and great use of live-action, and the Christmas one had the most detailed puppets.
I would like to see Adult Swim do this again with more Smiling Friends episodes, as well as other Adult Swim shows like Robot Chicken, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, The Eric Andre Show, and Joe Pera Talks with You

The Backgrounds are also in different styles. They must have hired out three different puppeteer groups and just told them to go for it.

They almost always go all out on April fools jokes, I feel like this is the second time they’ve done puppets (might be wrong though) I know they also did one where they replaced voice actors with baby voices, Rick and Morty premiered on April fools day just to mess with people. I love the joke with Mr. Frog on sleeping pills because frogs can breathe underwater (assuming it has enough oxygen), so it'd be totally fine if he fell in.
This is a level of dedication to the craft that goes beyond a simple April Fools prank. I am legitimately entertained to the point where I wouldn’t even be upset if they made the switch to puppet’s permanent.
