Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai are great easy cities , Penang great for foodies but had the worst experience with some rude young locals, never go back, Bangkok huge but great to walk around, Taipei brilliant friendly great again for walking and Hiking, myanmar prior to the conflict was the most memorable Bagan Mandalay are a must see, Seoul vibrant koreans very friendly but my new fav city is da Nang about to book my 5th trip there the beach the old quarter 30 minute drive to Hai An , plus have befriended a family from Phu Loc who sons studies in Da nang so i have a local to look after me. the reason i travel is experience culture the memories last a lifetime.
11:01 he has been to Bali but not to Indonesia, Bali is one of the islands in Indonesia, sadly Indonesia is the largest country in Southeast Asia but people only go to Bali, but don't know Indonesia😢😭☺️
Cracking video. So interesting. Common view is the friendliness of the Balinese people. Again every person interviewed added so much value feeding us with so many different experiences and information. Great work again Chai. 🤩
@@Chai_Travel My favourite place mate. One day I must go there notwithstanding it appears to be very popular with the young back packers. I'd probably venture there in the low season I guess :) Great opportunity to interview a bunch of back packers and ask why Pai is such an attraction for the young people in particular.
25 and 26 July will be the state mourning for the late General Secretary, please bear in mind that there will be no public events, no flag raising :((( I believe Vietnam is the most balanced and modest combination of Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia to be on their own, not the best nightlife like Thailand, not the best islands like the Philippines, not the most exotic culture like Bali, not stressful like South Korea,... however it's the greatest mixture of culture, nature and modernity with affordability.
2:32 i remember that seller on bike with his speaker yelling all nights around Danang beach 🤣 In SE Asia, I ve only been in Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia and Singapore. All amazing counties and people but honnestly, if i would recommand only one of them, it would be Thailand
Yet another excellent video Chai! I travel to South East Asia 2x year (i live in Europe) and I've been almost to all countries except Lao and Burma. It's hard to say which country is my favorite because all countries and provinces have their positives and negatives. But as a solo traveler, Thailand is the best. I love Thailand so much, it's almost like a second home to me❤. But all in all, here are my top favorites: 1️⃣Thailand/EVERYWHERE : food, culture, people, cities, beaches❤ and ease of transportation & accomodations as well as internet etc. 2️⃣Indonesia/Papua: breathtaking and adventurous. 3️⃣Malaysia/Borneo-Sabah: one of the most beautiful Islands in South East Asia with absolutely lovely people and amazing snorkeling. 4️⃣Malaysia/Kuala Lumpur: This city has grown on me. It's literally Singapore on steroids 😅 and a lot cheaper. 5️⃣Cambodia / Koh Rong (2010): breathtaking and isolated, peaceful and paradise beaches. Your last videos from Koh Rong showed how much it has developed and changed since then😢 I was in Vietnam in 2002. There were no tourists back then. And we were a group of friends. We were very very young. I used to love Hoi An. Anyways, my next trip will be Palawan /Philippines. (Ps: I worked as a tour guide when i was younger) Everytime i come to Asia, I wish to meet you and Elona. Perhaps i will someday. Anways, thank you for your excellent videos. Keep up with the good work 👍🏻💪🏻
Thanks so much for such detailed message :D And I only can agree on that every country has its pro's and cons. It's hard to beat Thailand as they do a great job managing and promoting their tourist destinations :D Thanks for sharing your experience here and hopefully we can stay in touch! Cheers 🏆 One day our paths will cross!
Love that you have a combo on your channel. You don't just show your POV you interview with different ages, and people from all over to get a variety of perspectives. Love this! You also show so much of the places. Your channel is the best & unique!! 🎉😊
Great topic my friend - difficult to say just 1 for me as yet , but of course Danang & Thailand 🇹🇭 for sure - some good discussions and everyone has good points - Thanks Champ ✔️✌️👍👋🙏
Great video & wonderful content Chai! Love the questions you ask people randomly! My husband & myself have never been to Vietnam but we keep hearing wonderful things about Da Nang so we would love to check it out one of these days 😊 Thanks for posting this video 🙏🏼
Thanks for your kind words again 🤟🏼 Da Nang is hard not to like. The traffic is maybe something that you may have to get used to the first few days and I know you’re quite regularly in Thailand. They do smile less here so much but that doesn’t mean they less friendly. It’s quite different here 😁 I’m sure you’ll love it
Great job interviewing those peeps. Always like to hear random people's opinions about places, not just from influencers. Love the Philippines for its beaches, food and people, Singapore for the people I met along the way, food and modern architecture , Indonesia (Bali) for their culture, people and overall vibe (Ubud specially). Looking forward to visiting Vietnam ( my Vietnamese friends are telling me to go to Da Nang), Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and Malaysia soon! We were in Northern Asia this summer-Tokyo and Kyoto, Japan. Uh-mazing!
It's very sad that tourists who come to Indonesia only go to Bali even though Indonesia is the largest country in Southeast Asia and they complain about traffic jams and how crowded Bali is even though many islands are still quiet and no less beautiful than Bali. Why don't try going to another island in Indonesia instead of just Bali.
It is very true the level of noise pollution in Vietnamese cities is higher as compare to city like Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok as Vietnam drivers & riders are using honks as a way to communicate with each other when they are on the road.😮
Thanks again champ! That's right! Actually Timor Leste and Brunei are still on the list and I haven't been there yet. I will go when the time is right :D
@@Chai_Travel That sounds wonderful. There are hundreds of beautiful places in this region that people haven't heard of yet and not in the radar of tourism. 😀
Been to a lot of countries in south east Asia and I guess the only one I have not been to are Myanmar and Vietnam. I’m going to Vietnam in January so I’m very excited. For now my favorites are the Philippines for beaches and nature and for culture Indonesia.
The quietest town in Vietnam is louder than Bangkok 🤣 For one reason...the honking/beeping. They beep when they dont need to at all.....in Thailand its rare to see this incessant beeping of car/bike horns.
My wife and I just arrived in Bangkok after a week in Kuala Lumpur sampling durian and enjoying the sights. Bangkok is a more vibrant city, but the durian in Malaysia is the best I've ever had. Thailand is a close second. 😉
It's funny that there's a guy who has been to Bali but says he hasn't been to Indonesia. Maybe in the future the same thing will happen to Da Nang and Vietnam? 😂
This winter will be my first time to ever visit Vietnam. All my roommates that lived and worked in Vietnam told me that Da Nang is their favorite place in Vietnam! That is the city that I want to visit the most as well, because I like living next to the water, because the air is always cleaner next to the beach!
You are in Da Nang! :) Message to the world... Travel... but remember you are a guest, respect and know that its a privilege to visit different countries... remember : Reciprocity creates a harmony: when we treat others with kindness and respect, we inspire the same in return.. Happy Travels and hope to bump into you! Thanks for your videos
It’s maybe not so popular because of the high prices of alcohol and the almost non existing party scene. Other than that Malaysia is one of the best holiday destinations in my opinion:)

loll, I though the sex scene in Vietnam and the Philippines are much more intense than Thailand, I don't know how sincere he is actually!!! it's quite rich from a Dutch guy! loll
It's just mind-boggling that none of the people you interviewed mentioned Malaysia, albeit one that heard good things about Kuala Lumpur. I'm wondering if the Malaysian tourism ministry is doing anything to promote the country???😅😂
I have only been to Cambodia and Singapore. When i went to Cambodia my skin went darker and it take many days to get back my original colour lol and the thing i dont like is there is no public transportation.
If you like sex , drugs and rave parties you should choose Thailand . If you love nature , gorgeous sceneries , rich/nice culture , interesting history , good food and friendly people you should opt for Vietnam . Makenya berhenti mempromosikan bali...kebanyakan orang indonesia kalau ketemu turis langsung di suruh ke bali😂
for firstimers to SE asia, Malaysia and thailand are the 2 best places to start, developed, exotic, friendly people, great infrastructure

Correct, Sulawesi is not crowded at all and so lovely! Was there in 2018 loved every minute😍

What a wonderful video.

I think it’s cause they like the adventures of less modernized countries.
