I'm so glad you're taking this on, this game deserves more attention for how unique it feels. But also! It's only a chance for the spirits to give you a replacement on your augmented blessings for Attack, Launcher, Bolt, etc. Once you have a fully decked out bar, you usually don't see them until you either get lucky or deplete the blessings from the spirit. Though, to compensate for a replacement, they ALWAYS come at a higher rarity if you replace an augment. It's why you didn't see Yamphas' augments at first to see their traits!
I really wish more roguelikes made use of this more combo style gameplay because when that 2414th roguelike comes out, that spam buttons and go to the next enemy type of combat can get a bit stale
The combat looks utterly addicting to learn, haven’t played smash myself but this combat looks perfectly complex and utterly satisfying maybe I’ll get it at some point
Spiritfall looks pretty damn nice, but the small room-by-room progression reminds me of the lovecraftian rogue you played before! The name's slipped me, but it gives me similar vibes to that! Combat looks great, and the Smash feel paired with those graphics and animations reminds me a bit of Brawlhalla--it's an odd mix of some games, but it definitely executed it well! (Didn't expect you to get Fus-Ro-Dahed by a bear, though) Best wishes t'ya, person reading this, and keep kicking ass out there--if life's doing that to you, pull out your trusty reverse card!

I GENUINELY thought it was some sort of anteater or aardvark at first. I was clueless.... when I saw it was a type of seahorse I felt SUUUUUPER dumb.
