My Dad pastored a church in Oliver Springs during this time. He invited Rev Billy Kelly to hold a revival. He was a great storyteller. It turned out to be one of the greatest events ever held in that town. Rest In Peace Bro Billy Kelly.

HORNET1 they don’t make ‘em like him anymore ( so to speak ). God can do anything but you get the drift of what I’m saying. The old time fire preachers had a certain charm that these new Preachers need to learn from. I’m only 32 but I studied all the old time greats and my old church had great baptist preachers and their fervor will never leave my heart. I go to Calvary Chapel now and I know it’s considered liberal to many Baptist but not my church. They love the Lord there. I do miss the baptist churches, I just had to stop wearing a suit I was getting mistaken for jehovah witnesses 😆

Melody Barlow if I had to guess this was recorded in the late 80’s or early 90’s judging off the microphones and the shape brother Kelly was in. He went on that one way trip to heaven in April of 1997.

I came here to hear bro. Kelly preach after hearing many good things about him ... The first eleven plus min. all I heard was jokes, funny stories and gluttony ... I wasn't empress ! After the song, I moved on . (sad)
I agree. Didn't Jesus say that if he returned and found us eating and drinking with drunkards and gluttons he'd cut us to pieces? I'm glad you see what I see. I don't mean to judge, but if we followed in his footsteps we might be condemned.
He did both, 50 years ago he would do revivals at my church. One year he did one at a neighboring church, the pastor was a big man, larger then Billy. This was in Hollister, Florida. His opening story was how he and the pastor had went fishing in a nearby lake. They both got into a 12 ft jon boat with Billy in the front. The pastor fired up the kicker but it was in gear so the pastor fell out the back with Billy holding on and hollering as the small boat made circles. Billy acted this out, beyond funny. Ahh, the good old days of Southern preachers.
