Unfortunately that's the generation we live in now. I grew up right before computers, internet, cell phones and social media so I got to experience the world before it all AND the transition and I think everyone that was here before it all would agree that the tech was misused to deceive and lie. If you can believe it, there was a time not long ago when lying was considered so shameful that the consequences for being caught labeled and ostracized you. Now it's Glorious to many as they lie in wait for anyone to drop their guard long enough to take from them. Worse yet, they feel justified in doing it because they deserved it for whatever reason. It is really sad. The good news is those of us that have eyes to see know it is blatantly obvious that everything Jesus said to watch for is happening all around us. We're living in the most Awesome time in human history. God bless you friend.

The elder son was the focus of the parable. He was angry that he obeyed the rules/laws of his father and yet his brother is being celebrated. Jesus was speaking to the Pharisees and showing them that the Law is death and they needed to repent.

Notice the Eternal Word manifest in Flesh, spoke One parable in three phases to the religious leaders of Israel , who He said, sat in Moses seat, and He told his His hearers to listen to their teaching on the Law, so this parable contains immense truth, like all of the teaching of Him who is eternal Truth, so to select one part of it and base the Christian Faith on it is a sure way to distort the eternal Truth'
The context is crucial, the religious leaders criticized the Lord Jesus for having fellowship with people who were considered crooks on the payroll of the occupying power of Rome
The Lord Jesus is explaining to them that He considers them the lost sheep of the House of Israel that He sent His Apostle to preach to in Matthew chapter 10, and these three phases describe three aspects of God's activity in His attempts to return the lost to the safety and security of the fold, or the silver necklace or the Father's Home

It's not about A man at all....
God is Consciousness/Infinity AS All Things, and this story is about man in general understanding this truth. Jesus knew this, as did all of those we call masters, like Buddha, etc. They knew everything is Consciousness/God Being Awareness AS ALL THINGS.
They knew this truth and lived it.
This story is about turning our backs on this truth and living in the world through the Dualistic Human Intellect, ultimately realizing that it's all an illusion and finite!
I AM INFINITY BEING AWARENESS AS ME.....
YOU ARE INFINITY BEING AWARENESS AS YOU.....
      BE THIS AWARENESS....
Jesus said GIVE NO THOUGHT FOR YOUR LIFE....telling you right there that matter is an Illusion of Awareness of Consciousness.
Be Silent and Know You Are The Finished Kingdom Right Here Right Now!!!

Presumably this gentleman ?has read the words of Christ Himself at Matthew 23, where we are told that ALL religious titles are forbidden.
If so, then either he is incapable of interpreting God's word correctly, or he doesn't think it applies to him.
Then let me set him straight: the ONLY title we are allowed is 'brother' (or sister) and it's not capitalised unless it's at the beginning of a sentence.
The use of any other title is divisive, disobedient, and rooted in pride - I didn't say it, Jesus did - so don't listen to anyone who does it.

    • @SuperJ333

@@jlandles I agree - there are lots of things in the eternal word of God that don’t really matter - I’m not sure why He bothered to put them in there really. Anyway, Jesus was obviously just engaging in idle chit-chat when He gave that commandment to us - he doesn’t really expect us to take it seriously, so what’s all the fuss about a bit of pride and taking God’s glory? Nobody’s perfect.
Dear Lord - no wonder the demons are having a field day with disobedient Christians.
And the church, who have the resources to bring in the full number of the Gentiles in any generation, are making absolutely zero impact, and the only people getting saved are the remnant God keeps for Himself anyway, without our help.
And just as a PS, we’re also talking about a dispensationalist here.
All believers are commanded to heal the sick, cast out demons, and speak in new tongues, so without the Holy Spirit, this is a purely intellectual exercise, and devoid of power to heal, save, deliver, restore, or redeem.
So I’ve got news for you - God doesn’t take excuses - come judgement day about 3% of the church will make it, and there won’t be a lot of so-called ‘pastors’ (sic) among them! God bless.

I am very thankful on this Father’s Day that my own father was nothing like Christian God. The Christian God, this so-called father, demands utter worship from his “children“ or he will torture them for all of eternity. That is not a father. That is a deranged, egotistical maniac. Even if one of my children turned away from me hated my guts, I would still want the best for them, but I would not send them to an eternity of torture in a place that I made. I can’t believe I believed that for so many years.

The whole point of the Cross is the redemption of souls, and the illustration in the parable is that no one can save their own soul - which is why we try to go our own way and embrace autonomy from our Creator, ....for what? A few years of enjoying what we can make of ourselves, out of relationship with the source of life? Eventually we find ourselves in a far place, devoid of resources and in desperate need of grace. If you're not there yet it's hard to see. Worshiping our Creator means we come more into line with reality, but it can be a hard and unwelcome pill to swallow,..... until we're desperate.
