Looking forward to next weeks WITB!
I'll watch it
Ian just casually pulling the cover off a $5k putter of dreams is life goals haha! Sick!
I like how the title has to start 24, because we all know it will change at least 10 times before the end of year!!😂
It needs to be 2024.1 to allow for version control.
End of the month, he is a tinkerer.
Yup! I am just waiting for the new WITB tomorrow! Lol
This should be re-titled Ians 2024 April Edition WITB!!! This isn't a knock on IAN at all.... I think most of us change out clubs all the time so Its great to see it at Ian's level as well!!! Always a great channel.
Scotty Cameron Tour Only Champions Choice Buttonback Masterful is a mouth full 😂
I remember back when Ian said if you get fit for a mini driver.. "you need to be refit"😂
Back in the days of honest TXG reviews prior to the big corporate sale/buyout… however it could be that the mini is just good numbers wise
@@jakedavid4304even Taylormade said it’s the same mini driver as the last but with a paint job, so for sure a corporate decision
Also, if you get fit for the mini as the main driver is the issue. Using it as the secondary tee club is a different story.....maybe hahaha
the mans a raving hypocrite.
@@markmakes8697 Yes, like they did with the 300 series, TaylorMade is releasing the BRNR with a second paint job. Doesn’t mean the OG BRNR and new version aren’t great clubs. I took my 3w out for a 13.5 BRNR turned down to 12.75, and I love it. May not be for everyone, but works great in my bag.
Ian will be in all Titleist woods again when the new line drops this summer
I too am Team Mini Driver. Welcome.
Great video! Also would LOVE to see more of the matches on the course between you two :) Really loving the content recently!
lol he switched to the driver he couldn’t hit to save his life during the bracket? Incredible stuff.
Qi10 Ls is a fairway machine!
@@EdgarJFeliz not the point but appreciate your view.
Love the setup, Ian! The timing of this video is crazy. I just got fit with a Titleist fitter this morning for almost an identical iron and wedge setup:
T200 4 and 5 (1 degree weak)
T150 6-PW
SM10 50F (bent to 49)
SM10 54D
SM10 60S (I also only use this green side)
I’m thankful for this channel as it helped me ask more beneficial questions of my fitter to maximize my results. Cheers!
I agree with the mini/3wood, I hit 3 wood off the tee 3-7 times a round and hit it off the ground, maybe 5 times a year, so I think my mini driver is going back in the bag.
If I don't have confidence in mini driver from the ground them I will go to my 5 wood.
I had the same setup last year and will have it again this year. Love the Mini to 5w at the top of my bag.
Same. I so rarely hit 3W off the deck and hit that distance club off the tee so much more often. Mini Driver 13.5* so much easier to hit off the tee than a 3W. I gap down to a 4W at 18* goes far enough when needed and easy to hit.
Building bag series are always fun to watch. Thank you!
The Qi10 LS over the 💎💎💎 was a huge surprise for me 😮
Yay!! It’s Ian’s weekly WITB!
Great bag Ian! You’re loving that VF!
My head cannot process this at all hahaha.
I swear it was callaway AI smoke TD 3 and 5 wood and that was it for the year!!
Mind blown
Somewhere Johnny Wunder is shaking his head.
I wouldn’t blame him. Ian’s number with the TD we’re perfect
It's such a facepalm... TMAG homer... Good golfers can play anything these days though, all clubs are truly good.
Love it just not convinced the driver will stay
Darkspeed LS secretly in the bag
@@jon4715 The 2024 bracket winner would be legitimate (or the finalist w the Black Ops Tour!)
Combined w the Aretera shaft?
@@Ibizassini Instead of the GD VF 6x?
Lol..love witb with Ian, take 1 for the year, the irony fir me is the initial testing of qi10 ls was horrific, it didn't even make an appearance in the bracket , sad for top performers like cobra and black ops. Of all the tour toys that's at your disposal, the introduction of your scotty putter was the biggest envy and admiration moment, it has to be the most beautiful putter iv ever seen. Great show, waiting for yours now Mikey.🎉🎉 congrats
Always interested in Ian’s witb videos
My favorite video…..every 6 months.
Got to love the green paint Ian 🙂
This is exactly what I'm doing this season, driver as fade only set up and the mini as my draw club that only goes a little bit shorter. I have a 7w that might need to become a 5w though since my 4w is getting replaced by the BRNR.
Blue Bag: excellence
Guess the Triple Diamond didn't last very long 🤣
It never was going to last. IAN is a Taylor Made guy, he always will be. Honestly, we are all like this. We are all going to favor a brand over another brand and with the shafts, heads, and access to all the tour stuff from the brands he can make any TM product fantastic.
@@arpus1995 Nothing lasts with Ian. He had Miura TC-201's a few seasons back and ditched them. I'd have played those until the grooves were gone!
I like the setup Ian. Very similar to mine this season and for similar reasons. 9 degree driver, 13.5 mini and 18.5 5 wood for me this season.
Mikey: You've already had your WITB for the year.
Ian: We've had one, yes. What about second WITB?
[Mikey turns and walks away]
TH-cam viewer: I don't think he knows about second WITB, Fraz.
Ian: What about 15th Clubsies? WITB 2.0? Mid season Changes? End of season WITB? End End of season WITB? He knows about them, doesn't he?
TH-cam viewer: I wouldn't count on it Fraz!
The LS is a surprise because I remember the original review you just couldn’t like it and the qi10 core was hitting much better numbers overall
They do this because they know it’s new content every week until the end of the season 😂😂😂
BRNR BOYS!!
I keep seeing people getting brand new custom fit clubs and not actually improving. It's actually interesting and funny to see
Let’s just bandaid over your swing issues with clubs that match it…
To an extent, people need a range of weights and flexes, but it’s over the top now.
@@jon4715 Avid golfers should definitely get fit to a certain extent. It's just funny to hear guys say stuff like, "I got fitted for these irons 3 years ago so I think it's time for an upgrade."
In most cases they could play some Ping Eye 2s and as long as the shaft flex and lie angle is somewhat correct, it would make no difference.
@@danieljd6776 Totally agree. So many people calling for everyone to get fit. Actually go get some yard sale clubs and practice and take lessons. When your game is at a point where you can hit consistent shots then go get fit.
love a good club heaux
Dam I love me some Mikey! He cracks me up! Funny lad!
Love the burner mini! Kinda thought I’d see the tsr2+, but I guess that’s not enough gapping from driver to mini
Love it Ian!! Literally the same set up as me barring the vokey PW! Driver, Mini Driver & strong 5 wood is the perfect set up for anyone with length that’s not playing tour length courses consistently in my opinion!
Why would so many long clubs be useful for such a strong player if they’re not playing especially long courses?
@@jon4715 because having 5 wedges isn’t practical as it gets as if there is too much choice. Short courses are generally tight, where mini driver comes into play. I also play quite a few 280 par 4’s where I don’t really want to take distance off Driver but can’t get a normal 3 wood there. Just never need to hit a 3 wood off the ground, I’ve hit the mini driver once off ground in 2 years.
@@liamhancock5309 Is there that much of a need for the driver then? I personally would love to just play a shorter, tighter game (with the mini driver) and get to play all my clubs than just drivers and wedges (if I were consistent enough to do that).
@@jon4715 if that’s what you enjoy then great, but from a scoring the best score perspective then hitting the ball as far down (where appropriate) always creates lower scores on average.
@@liamhancock5309 So driver for par 5s, mini driver for par 4s and narrow fairways? Then a normal bag?
Swing is looking great Ian working with Tyler is really paying off . What shoes are you wearing there look sweet
My Man Ian is getting quick with that driver. Leaving me in the dust at 113 club
0:32 starting out with a banger LMAO
Ian saying “listen…” hahaha
This isn’t April 1st, but who are you kidding..new sticks next week.😂
I was gonna reach through the screen and slap you for changing putters.......but my god that thing is making me drool. good choice!
Ian, what changed with the Qi10 LS from the first time you tested it and couldn’t keep it in the air with enough spin?
Looks like he got a tour head here… likely much better than retail
@@Misnjefthats actually totally unlikely. Thats literally the last thing it could be
@@Misnjeftour usually just means better tolerances on weights and loft and lie angles. It’s the same material and club. The tour cog is a little different as it can give you a bit more variety in adjustability.
Ian and Mikey are the "Abbott & Costello", Cheech & Chong", Beavis & Butthead of golf club reviewers. You guys have a undeniably fun & enjoyable relationship that makes your content so entertaining to watch. Love your content.
Amazing WITB! I'm thinking of ordering the same Mini Driver with the exact same shaft, AD GD VF 6X. Did you tip your shaft for the mini driver? I'm thinking of tipping 1 or 1.5". Thanks!
💎💎💎 had a short shelf life 😮
Love my brnr. Not a fan of the shaft though. I have a stiff but still feels a little to flex for me.
Great Video - QQ for driver shaft stiffness, what is a general rule of thumb for X vs. TX for club head speed?
What are your thoughts on the Vokey K Low Bounce 58 bent to 59/7? VS M grind?
Need to do the 13.5 mini turned down to 12.0-12.5*. It will go within 10y of 11.5 turned down to 10.5*. More versatile off the ground and still penetrating flight with just a touch more stabilizing spin. I have 6g front and 15g back.
It's not that long ago that TXG were questioning the raison d'etre for the Mini BRNR, asking who on earth would use one, and now it's in Ian's bag. Can't say I'm surprised.
Not having the callaway 5 and 3 wood in the bag that was a surprise
Great video, what are those shoes?
The new Titleist stuff comes out fall of 24. You will e changing when the ##’s are released. Heard they are going to be amazing.
HEAD TO HEAD: 13° TSR 2+ Fairway VS. 13.5° BRNR Mini Driver (off the tee and also off the deck)
Those are certainly the wedge lofts of a club tinkerer
Here just to say that Ian went back to his TM original SIM driver and dropped the Qi10. 🤣🤣
Ian has 2 clubs in the bag that are stronger lofted than my driver...lol. Got my Ai Smoke Triple Diamond set at 11.5° and it's the best driver I've ever hit.
Jeeeeeesh! I would put that putter on my wall and never hit it!!
That white 1/4 zip is phenoenal Ian where might i be able to get one?? (UK)
If I worked at club champion I’d be changing clubs all the time too. Like a kid in a candy store Good video. Surprised he put qi10 in the bag as driver. It’s a nice club though.
Just wondering if my fairway woods should be 1/2 longer than standard, because my irons are?
I have 5,7,9 but right now they are all same length.
This seems like a set up that’s optimized for the hitting bay, not the course. Looking forward to the WITB in 2 weeks
Always fall for the Taylormade drivers even if you hit other ones better lol.
What brand of stand bag is that? Looks pretty slick
I think that driver and mini driver would be better at stated loft and not opened face. That fade flight doesn’t fit Ian’s natural flight.
But hey you guys are the experts.
On the irons front, no surprise there. T150 the best of all worlds. Fantastic distance, forgiveness and feel from my experience.
Vokey wedges as all Titleist wedges in the past have an excessively heavy swing weight for me…. But i have them in the bag as well. So let’s see.
Would kill to try the mini driver on course.
Can't hit a ball for peanuts in an enclosed sim.
Hate every driver ever built 😂.
Normal 3 wood for me is 230-240 metres but obviously would like 250-260
Great setup.
Hey Ian. I just got the GD VF 5x driver shaft. I came from a Ventus Blue TR 6x. What do you think a VF 6x would feel like to me compared to the 5x? Does it bring spin down?
I don't get the lure of mini drivers. If I'm not comfortable with the driver off the tee or there's the chance I can hit it through a fairway or there's wind I hit my 260 hybrid or 250 utility 3 iron.
If you can send the mini 300 total, why not play around with the same length shaft in the Qi10? or .25" longer?
I wish I could hit a fairway wood or hybrid, I run driver then 2-P irons.
what was the decision to go with 6x vs 5x you hit so well? Thx!
Hi !
Do you use the tour velvet 4 standard or the midsize ?
Love it gents! Driver has been out of my bag and I have the 2023 BRNR hosel down to "9.5." I chuckle at the i10 because Mikey fits him into the Callaway and the Dark speed wins but here we are. Lol
How do you deal with TaylorMade’s hosel adjuster…9.5 would open your face, more of a fade/slice. Work for you?
@@jon4715 I have a natural pull fade ball flight due to an out to in path with slightly open face. I actually pull the Mini as my mishit and don't really see a pronounced fade or slice at all. I haven't given it a ton of thought nor had time to mess with the in between settings, I may be better off at 10.5 or something but my first instinct was to just crank it as low as I can since I was used to a fixed 9 deg prior. Long way to say : "hell I don't know"
You should do and "Ian's WITB before and after" at the end of the season
Surely that is a massive gap between the 5 wood (which is really a soft 3 wood loft) and the 4 iron?
Top of my bag is always changing.😅
For what season? Do you play in some kind of tour?
Having just watched the video where you compared all 3 qi10’s, I’m surprised to see you in this video with the LS. What changed? Seemed like you almost hated it in that initial vid
Should have a green putter Ian - looks like blue is gonna fail again this year :D
Made a mistake this year! Popped the JPX Forged into hibernation for the winter and rebuilt the skankiest set of G410s you’ll ever see into a winter set that I didn’t have to be precious about. Spring is here and the G410s are fending off the JPXs 😂
Look 🤮
Numbers 👌
I hit my driver very well so it's longer and more forgiving than a mini-driver. I choose the real thing over a 2nd string. Also, I hit my 3 wood off the deck better than a mini-driver so same result here as well. Once again, I choose the real thing over a 2nd string. Just doesn't make sense from any perspective for someone like me. I basically just lose an important spot in my bag.
Witb for May out in 2 weeks
The only consistent is the ball
How weak did you have to go on the 4 and 5 iron to maintain gapping?
Serious question: If you don’t really intend to play the mini driver off the fairway that often, why waste 1 of 14 slots in the bag? What is the difference in a 10.25 degree mini driver versus just choking up 1.5 inches on your 8.25 degree driver, teeing it down, and thinking about a neutral AoA? Any driver can become a mini driver by choking up, teeing it lower and not swinging up on it no? And that would give you an even lower flight window with less spin and a larger more forgiving higher MOI head no? I don’t see 3 clubs 8-16 degrees being sustainable in the bag. What’s gonna happen is realizing the gap between the long iron and hot 5 wood is gonna be too big. If you need a 220 carry into a protected green or need to play a 200 yard par 3 shot into a strong 2 club wind, what club are you pulling?
I would be too if I were him. Makes sense.
What happened to the 3 and 5 woods being Callaway. Lol
That putter is beautiful!
Where can we find the custom headcovers for the woods?
I hate hitting up on the ball. I would love to just get a mini.
Love the BRNR mini-driver. Used it as my driver on vacation for two months this winter. Amazing results. I’ll swear by my BRNR, but I’ll never swear at it.
Titleist has a prototype mini-driver and now Callaway has an AI Smoke mini they were having tested at The Masters.
Haha need one may June July Aug
Hey guys, so basically the tour sleeve/adapter is 1.5 degree per cog in comparison to 0.75 degree per cog for the standard ones, right? Appreciate the feedback. Thanks - Muz@moose
If mini drivers are so good then why don’t more pros use them? They approach gimmick territory with nostalgia as their marketing.
Can we start a side bet that Ian will miss the fairway with his first Mini driver on the course..😂
Michael can we please have an Ian WITB video on July 17th the day before The Open Championship begins at Troon? Perhaps with a free giveaway of the 3-4 clubs that don't survive in the bag between now and then!??
Is the bag a vessel bag?
How does 167mph ball speed carry 306 when tour guys are hitting it in the 180s and sometimes don't carry it that far?
What happened to the Vokey V-grind??? I feel like that got booted quick.
