I still say the book’s version of Romione’s first kiss was ten times better just because Harry was there, I still get a giggle out of Harry’s two comments; “Is this really the time?” And “Oi! There’s a war going on here!”
Personally I headcanon that he’s internally cheering and saying “Fucking finally!” when he sees the kiss. Harry is the captain of the SS Romione, after all.

I really do not understand people who did not realise these two will end up together. To me it was obvious when the second film came out. I have been shipping them since that awkward hugging scene :D
AliraSK that’s what I thought as well. Although apparently the scene from CoS wasn’t supposed to be awkward and foreshadowing the romance at all, from what I heard. It was meant to be that Hermione would run in and hug both Harry and Ron. But because Emma Watson found it too awkward and difficult, it was changed. And the hug between Harry and Hermione had to be frozen for a few seconds because she let go too quickly.
I shipped harry&Ginny since book 2, but When I re-read the books before "the Half-blood Prince" Movie came out I Fell in love with Romione.
Anyway, I understood that they could have feel something for each other in the third book

AliraSK lol, “true shipper” 🙄 I ship them too, and have throughout the books and films. I was just pointing out that it was unintentional. And there was NO obvious hint of romantic tension in the CoS book, not until GoF, and I’m of the opinion that the books are canon and the films are just based on canon material, not canon in themselves. If the films took influence from the books and added the tension earlier, then that’s fine, but that is still a change made by the director/screenwriter, and maybe unintentional awkwardness on the actors’ part, as I noted. Going in to the first film, they had four books of material to work with, so that, and fans knowing the material going forward too, helped in terms of making the ship obvious earlier. Not to mention they changed the third film to emphasize the chemistry instead of having the book focus on them arguing, which is what they did for most of it. While I don’t deny the constant bickering would have made the film a little monotonous, I don’t agree with them shoehorning romantic moments in a book which by and large showed what crappy friends Harry and Ron were to Hermione.

I have to be honest, books show much better relationship of them. But I have to admit Rupert and Emma are the big reason for me to bring believability to Ron and Hermione's relationship !

People who dislike Ron or who ship Harry and Hermione make me so angry because most of them don't look into the important part-the books. The movies make Ron out to be a heavily flawed and useless character that is undeserving of Hermione, because they make Hermione a perfect genius that could've done the whole thing by herself and didn't need the other two. The books, however, make it a little more clear that the trio balance each other out and need each other for that reason. Harry and Hermione are so awkward together without Ron as the icebreaker. Not to mention, Harry ending up with Hermione would've been so unbelievably cliché and predictable. People mispercieve Harry and Hermione's comfortable friendship as romance, especially because movie Ron doesn't have half the good qualities he has in the books. I agree that Movie Ron might not deserve Movie Hermione, but Book Romione balanced each other, which is what people don't realize. I could go on about Ron Weasley and Romione rights for days, but I'll stop here.

What about Hermione crying on Ron's shoulders after Buckbeak's execution in the Prisoner of Azkaban? Harry was also right next to her, she could've been crying on Harry's shoulders, but no, she chose Ron's shoulders. That's got to mean something right?
I see where people come from when shipping these two with others, because for a while it seemed like Ron and Hermione would never get together, but R + H are the best couple I could ever ask for x

I think the movies did Ron dirty, in the books is more clear and it was obvious that between Hermione and Ron was something, while Harry and Hermione were very good friends and in Harry's words "he see her as his sister", they were awkward by themselves and we can clearly see in last book when Ron left them, there was no chemistry between them and they both hided from each other most of the time, the movie made Ron look like stupid, useless character which wasn't the point in the books, I doesn't help they also did dirty to Ginny so Harry and Ginny ship come from nowhere, Ginny was barely seen in the movies, naturally the people who saw the movies shipped Harry and Hermione (I saw the movies first and I shipped them, after I read the books I ship Ron and Hermione)
@@SicaRun You have to remember that for the first two movies and books, Ron's wand didn't work for him because it hadn't got his allegiance [ it belonged to his older brother] and that's why it didn't work very well for him, he wasn't to know that and took his frustrations out on Hermione by being mean to her [ but he secretly admired and liked her already], he had an inferiority complex and did for a long time- the locket showed us that. Ron was never stupid, he could cast a full patronus remember [ Jack Russell Terrier [ film had the wrong breed], and that shows his true nature: loyal, dependable, brave and a bit cheeky -well he is a Weasley after all] he was just a bit immature, but he hated seeing Hermione with someone else and so did she, Ron deserved the bird attack from her and he was pretty upset when he saw her with Krum and went all pithy about it to her but really was secretly "kicking himself" for not asking her himself but didn't want her to know that.

ok no one else may think this but one of my favourite ron/hermione scenes is when hermione comes back in chamber of secrets and instead of hugging each other they do the awkward hand shake. idk it just always seemed really cute to me especially at the start and it showed that hermione and harry were definitely just friends where as ron and hermione had a few more levels to them

I’ve known for certain that Ron and Hermione were going to get together since the fourth book - there were signs from Chamber of Secrets onwards, but Goblet of Fire made it extremely obvious to me that they definitely liked each other in that way.
But there were signs even before GoF that were easy to brush aside and miss: Ron was disgusted by Hermione’s infatuation with Lockhart, Ron defended Hermione and tried to hex Draco for insulting her (and didn’t even really complain about puking up slugs for her), the fact that their arguing went from childish banter to clear tension because they liked each other but neither knew how to address it properly. I also found it funny that Harry himself thought that the two of them were trying to “parent” him in PoA, especially given the similarities between Jily and Romione (pureblood Wizard, muggle-born witch, Ron and James were both Quidditch players, Lily and Hermione both extremely intelligent/top of the school etc.)

The Patronus thing is so much more than what the list said! Especially when you consider that the shape a corporeal Patronus tells a lot about the witch or wizard that cast it.
Hermione’s Patronus, the otter, is part of the weasel family. The town the Burrow, where the Weasleys live, is near to is Ottery St. Catchpole. It’s pretty much saying that Hermione considers the Weasleys- one in particular- to be important figures in her life.
Ron’s Patronus is a Jack Russel Terrier. Aside from the dog being bred to chase otters amongst other things (which indicates Ron’s romantic interest in her), the Jack Russell Terrier is close to Rowling’s heart as she owns one herself. Guess which character she partially based on herself? Yup, it’s Hermione.

Yeah! It’s one of those moments where you realize there’s a spark of something between them, but they’re just too young and awkward to acknowledge it.
And even that moment in Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban where she gets little scared when Harry touches buckbeak for the first time. Hermoine clutches Ron's sleeve. Even when they think that buckbeak dies, that moment Hermoine holds Ron and cries

Dumbledore roughly grabbing Harry, the cheesy way the other two schools are introduced, skipping the Quidditch World Cup, the weird hedge maze, skipping the Barty Crouch, Jr. story, skipping Fudge going berserk. The list of inconsistencies goes on!

There was a moment in the first movie. Hermione slams a giant book on the table, calling it "light reading". Ron says, "THIS is light reading?" and Hermione just smolders at him. It was so brilliant and so cute. Sorcerer's Stone is still my favorite HP film after Azkaban. All the movies are good but I believe it's worthy of appreciation to have us fall in love with all these young adventurers in the very first movie.

A Ron and Hermione moment that also is in my top ten saddest scenes, is the scene where Hermione is crying in the hall after watching Lavender and Ron kissing. Harry follows her out and comforts her.
